Reader's pov:

Some things are meant to be unspoken.

Like the extreme training I'll be doing to the squad.

"RUN CONNIE! LIFT THOSE KNEES BEFORE I HUNT YOU DOWN!!!"

He puffs and runs faster. The squad is doing 20 laps. After that, they do some cardio and lifts before going back to laps. They would need to learn how to run if they want to live out there, outside the walls.

I don't want to risk losing another.

Levi appears behind me and scowls. "OI, brat. What are you doing today, a free day?"

I turn to him and raise an eyebrow. "Training the noobs of course, they want to live right? They need to learn how to run as fast as possible to get away from the Titans." I said, stating the obvious.

With a click of his tongue, he gestured for me to follow him. I turn back to the squad and call out, "Be right back! Don't be sitting like ducks when I come back!"

I follow Levi and we walk quietly around the camp. He finally spoke after we were a good distance away from the squad. He stopped and turned me around to face him. My breath hitches as I stare into his stormy gray eyes. I was in a trance when he spoke to me.

"I need you to help me find a ring for Petra."

Then I could hear the shattering sound in my chest. I can feel it piercing my insides as the sharp shards fell. I gulp and look down at his shoes. I nodded slowly and responded, "Yeah. Yeah...sure I'll help. I'll go dismiss the squad." I croak out, trying to hide my sadness. I push his hands away from my shoulders lightly and trudge to the track field.

"You're dismissed. Do as you please." I commanded and left them. They all sighed in relief and limped all the way back to the dorms. I walked back to where Levi was, he was leaning. On the wall. His eyes spotted me and he pushed himself off the wall.

"Let's go." He commanded. I followed like a lost puppy.

What is he doing to me?

Le timeskip~

We arrived in the town. We were in regular clothes now, with thick coats covering us from the light drizzle of rain. We found an engagement ring store and entered. I gazed at the different rings to pick.

"Why are you asking me to pick?" I asked him. He clicked his tongue as he observed a plain ring.

"Because you're a girl, I'd like to have your opinion for a ring. Besides, you're Petra's best friend so I thought it would be best to ask you." He responded, putting the ring down. I nodded and looked around me. There were many rings to pick from and they were all equally beautiful.

One caught my eye though. It was in the corner of the room, in a tacky glass box and crappy casing. I slowly walked towards it, ignoring Levi's calls. I bent down to be face to face with the ring. It was breathtaking and gorgeous. Rhinestones encased a big diamond ring that was stuck onto a circular piece of metal. Words were engraved in the middle, now that I was closer.

I set both of my hands on the glass, my warm breath making fog as I press my nose against it. My (e/c) eyes were wide with fascination as I stared at the ring. The words engraved into it was very special and warm hearted.

'My heart goes out to you'

I loved those words. It was perfect. Levi came in and stared at the ring. He nodded and called the clerk over to us. The clerk stared at the ring in boredom and unlocked the case.

Levi paid for it and we left. I couldn't help but stare as he slid the casing into his coat pocket.

I just had this feeling. This thought that I couldn't stop.

'I want to be engaged. I want to have a ring slipped on my finger...'

'I want to love Levi.'

A/n: Whew. Got this out as soon as I can! My back, legs, and face hurts so Imma sleep it off and all that stuff :P

I actually like this chapter, although it's short and maybe crappy.
