Chapter 12

Author's POV

Manya was going back when Arhaan stopped her.

"You cook very well, Manya. The dish was very delicious. I don't eat spicy foods but after tasting your handmade food I will try that type of food for sure." Said Arhaan.

For the first time someone except Sehgal family praised her. She used to do all the work in her own house but no one ever appreciated her efforts.

After listening Arhaan's words Manya felt so happy. She said thanks to him with a full blown smile.

"You look beautiful when you smile. Keep smiling, Manya." Said Arhaan, making Manya blush and she said good bye to him.

Arhaan's POV

After returning from Sehgal Mansion I reached home because meeting was cancelled. All were sitting in the living room. I told them about our success of the project with the Sehgals and the party next week. They were all very excited about it.

"I'm so happy for you, bhai. I'm so excited. I have to do shopping for the party. I will ask Amrita Bhabi and we'll go shopping." Said Khush while jumping with enthusiasm.

"Party is not tomorrow, Khush, it's next week so you have lots of time for your preparations." I said and she pouted and hit me on my shoulder.

"You are so mean, Bhai."She said with sadness and hugged mom while sitting on the sofa beside her.

"Okay, don't get sad now. I will drop you tomorrow at Sehgal mansion. After that you go wherever you want to."

"Thank you so much bhai. You are the best."

"Before sometime you said I'm mean and now I'm the best. Please, Khush, stand up to your statement." I said and ruffled her hair and ran towards my room, laughing at her angry face.

"Bhai you... I'll kill you." Said she. She want to run behind me but mom stopped her and told us to freshen up because dinner was ready.

After freshening up, I had dinner with all my family and returned to my room. I laid on my bed thinking about today's events. I recalled the conversation with Manya. When I told her to keep smiling she looked beautiful and she blushed.

She was looking so beautiful. I want to see her happy. Thinking about her beautiful smile I also smiled. I was still smiling like a fool when Khush graced my room with her presence and broke my chain of thoughts. I stood up from bed.

"Bhai? why are you smiling like that? Asked Khushi while showing her thirty two teeth. I know you are thinking about a girl." She said.

I was shocked to hear her. How did she know that I was thinking about a girl?

"Who is the girl?" She asked.

"No one! I was not thinking about some girl stop talking nonsence. And tell me why are you here?" I asked trying to be cold and authoritative.

"I know Bhai, you were thinking about a girl. Your wish, don't tell me. But I will find later. I was here to tell you that I called Amrita Bhabi and we three are going to shopping tomorrow." She told me.

"Three?"

"I, Amrita Bhabi and Manya Di. So don't worry. You don't have to drop me at their house. Bhabi said she will pick me up." She said.

"Okay."

"Bye. Goodnight, Bhai. And have Sweet dreams about my Bhabi." She said and laughing, she ran away.

"Khush..." I shouted at her in annoyance but she showed her tongue and laughed. After that I laid on the bed and sleep consumed me.

Next day I woke up when Sun rays fell on my face. I stood up and after completing my morning chores I went downstairs into the dining area. All were sitting and waiting for me.

Mom preparead my favourite chocolate pancakes for which I thanked mom. After having my breakfast I kissed Dadi and Mom, said goodbye to dad and Khushi and I left for office.

Manya's POV

I was playing with Yahaira when Amrita Bhabi came to my room and told me to be ready. I asked her where we are going so she told me that we'll be going for shopping.

"Bhabi why.." I stuttered and asked.

"Oh Manya, dear next week there's that party. We have to go shopping for our dresses. So get ready fast. Khushi must be waiting for us." She said.

"But I have lots of dresses. Maa gave me so many dresses that my wardrobe is full now. I don't want more. I will select something from those." I said.

"No. You will have to come with us. And I know you don't have any party dresses. We will select something good for you. So get ready." I told. Before I could say something to her she stopped me by showing her hand.

"Get ready, Manya. Otherwise we are going to be late." She said and left from there.

I got ready and went to the living room. Yahaira was crying because she wanted to go with us.

"No baby you will be bored there." Bhabi said, trying to console her.

"No mumma, I also want a dress." said Yahaira while crying.

"Oh baby, I will bring you a very beautiful dress. You enjoy with your, Dadi. Okay?" Amrita bhabi tried but Yahaira shook her head in no and crying hugged her.

"Yahaira, I will prepare your favorite ice cream in the evening. And tonight we will sleep together and have lots of fun." I said. She looked at me and stopped crying.

"Really bua?" She asked and I nodded and asked her to be a good girl. I told her if she will be a good girl and do what her mom will say then we will enjoy in the evening and she agreed immediately.

"Mumma you go I will stay with dadi." said Yahaira.

Everyone looked at me with wide eyes and said thanks to me.

"Manya, what magic you do with her? This stubborn girl never listens to me. And see, you said and she immediately agreed." Said Bhabi, astonished by Yahaira agreeing to stay at home.

"It's nothing, Bhabi." I told her.

"You both go otherwise you will be late. And Khushi will be angry with you both." Said mom and laughed.

We both left from there to Malhotra mansion.

Author's POV

Khushi was ready at correct time when Amrita called her and told her to come out. After that they left for shopping. They reached their favorite oddisi charm boutique that belonged to Amrita's best friend. They entered and were welcomed by Amrita's friend.

"Hey! Amrita. Long time!" Said Neha, the owner of the boutique.

"Hello, Neha. Yeah, I was busy with this." Amrita pointed her finger at her baby bump making all of them laugh at her.

"What I can help you with?" asked Neha with a smile.

"The three of us want to wear something good for a business party organised by us."

"Okay. Let's find you something. I have my latest collection. I hope you will like that."

"Of course. Show me." said Amrita and they followed her.

"Okay. First, for our Khushi. Khushi, what you want to wear?" Asked Amrita from Khushi.

"I want to wear a gown." said Khushi. Neha showed her a collection of gowns.

They selected a gown in peach colour and pearl work on the neck. The neck was boat shaped. The bottom part of the gown was in net metiral. They all liked it and after trying it to see the fitting, they selected it for Khushi.

"Now, what you want to wear, Amrita?" Asked Neha.

"I want something comfortable and classy at the same time."

"I have something for you. you'd like it. I'll show you." She said and told her assistant to bring the outfit. After some time she came with a beautiful gown in her hand. She showed the gown to them.

The gown was in burgundy colour. It had floral embroidery on it. The sleeves of the gown ware netted. It had a beauitful side cut on it. The cloth metirial was so soft that Amrita immediately liked it and selected it for herself.
