Chapter 26

Arhaan's POV

Today I reached office early because whole night I didn't sleep well. Her crying and scared figure came infront of my eyes whenever I close my eyes to sleep. From early in the morning I couldn't wait more to see her fine. So I reached office a little early.

It's been nine thirty now, but she didn't come. Time passed quickly and even at ten thirty she didn't show up. Now I'm feeling restless.

Why didn't she come? Is she okay? I thought and first called Anvesha and asked about Manya's leave. She said Manya didn't send any application or email.

I nodded and told her to leave. Now I was worried for her. I instantly dialled her number but she didn't receive my call. I tried four times but no response from her.

"I hope she is fine. In an hour I have a meeting with Arjun, I'll ask him about her." I thought.

I reached Arjun's office and asked his assistant about Arjun so he told me he was not in the office today. "We tried to contact sir but we couldn't."

"Why didn't Arjun come to the office? I hope everything is fine." I prayed and left for Sehgal mansion to know about Manya.

When  entered into the mansion it was silent as if no one was there.  A maid opened the door and told me to come inside. I entered and asked her about Arjun. I wanted to know about Manya too but I asked for Arjun first.

"Where is Arjun? I want to meet him."

"Sir woh... Sab hospital Gaye hue hain. (They've gone to the hospital.)" She said.

Listening the word hospital I got worried. I asked her why they went to the hospital.

"Sir, last night Manya madam.." listening Manya's name my heart thumped with fear.

"What happened to her?" I asked.

"Sir last night they found madam unconscious in her room. So they immediately took her to the hospital." She said.

"Which hospital?" I asked her after composing myself.

"Sir Jivan hospital." She said.

I nodded and immediately left from there to the hospital. I reached there as soon as I could. I asked receptionist about the patient, Manya Sehgal. She told me she was in room no.135. I went to the third floor and found the room.

Whole of the Sehgal family was sitting outside the room. Deepika aunty was sitting with Amrita. Yahaira was sleeping on Nishant uncle's lap. Arjun stood infront the room door and looking into the room through the mirror.

I went to Arjun and touched his shoulder. He looked at me.

"Oh.. Arhaan, Hi. What're you doing here?" He asked while rubbing his cheeks with his hands.

"I went to your Mansion. And there I got know about you all being in the hospital." I said.

"Yeah! Last night Manya had high fever. She came from office early, we thought she was resting. At night when we went to call her for dinner, she was lying on the floor, unconscious. Her head got injured while falling. So we brought her here." He said.

My heart cleanched listening about her. I should have looked after her when she was scared yesterday." I thought.

"What did the doctor say?" I asked.

"Doctor said she has high fever. Because of high temperature she fell unconscious. But I don't know how she suddenly caught fever. She was fine yesterday in the morning." He said.

I was going to say about yesterday's incident when the doctor came and told us that she's up. 

"The patient is fine now. Her fever got down now. She has a weakness.She needs proper rest. We'll keep her here for today. Tommorow morning we will discharge her." Said the doctor and left from there.

I wanted to see her but it's not right so I told Arjun that I'll come tomorrow. But he refused and took me into the room with him. Manya was laying on the bed and a gulcose drip attached to her hand. Her forehead's left side was bandaged. She was looking pale and weak. When Deepika aunty touched her hair she opened her eyes.

She looked at aunty and smiled. She looked at her surroundings and then her eyes fell on me. We looked at each other but she immediately looked away.

"You scared us Manya. How're you feeling now, bacha? Why you didn't tell me that you're not feeling well?" Asked Deepika aunty.

"Mom, calm down. Let her rest for sometime, after that you can ask her what ever you want." Said Arjun.

'Mom you all go home I'll stay here with her. And send some food and clothes for me." Said Arjun .

"Bacha I'll stay here, you go and rest." Said Deepika aunty but Arjun refused. Deepika aunty nodded and kissed Manya on her forehead and left from there with everyone.

After they all left Arjun asked me to stay here for a while until he makes a call. I nodded and he left.

I looked at Manya and took steps towards her. She was looking at the drip attached to her hand that was resting on her stomach.

"How are you feeling now, Manya?" I asked her.

"I'm fine." she said and looked at me.

I want to ask her about that incident and why she caught fever all of a sudden. I know it's related with that incident and I will find out about it. I don't want to pressurise her brain or get her worried so I left it for nowas. But I didn't except her to talk to me about it.

"Arhaan, can I ask you something?" She asked me.

"Yeah, sure. Tell me."

"Umm.. Woh.. Please don't.. tell Arjun Bhai anything about.. yesterday's incident." She said while stuttering and being scared. I immediately caught her hand in mine to calm her.

"Don't take tension, Manya. I'll not tell anyone about it but you have to promise me that after your recovery you'll tell me or Arjun about it. It's for your safety and well being. We all want to see you happy. So please tell anyone whom you want to tell. Okay? I said and assured her while squeezing her hand.

She looked at me and a tear fell on her pale cheek. I leaned towards her face and cleared it from her cheek with my finger while looking into her eyes deeply. Her eyes shows so much pain and I'll find its reason.

We stayed like that for some time. But our moment broke when a nurse entered. I abruptly composed myself as I thought it's Arjun. She changed the bottle attached with the drip. She smiled to us and left And I held Manya's hand again.

"I know you're hiding your pain from us and I know you're scared of something. But trust me, Manya, I'll never ever let someone who wants to hurt you to come near you. But don't hide your pain. It will destroy you. So after recovery you have to tell this to anyone or I'll tell it all to Arjun." I said while looking intensely in her eyes.

She looked at me with a different emotion. She inhaled a long breath and told me.

"I don't want to hide it. I just don't want to hurt them. They'll feel hurt after knowing about it. I'll tell you everything but don't tell anything about it to Arjun Bhai. I want to be a cause of their happiness, not sadness. Please, Arhaan.." she said while hopefully looking into my eyes.

"Okay. But you have to tell me and I know it's related to your past. Now, rest. We'll meet when you recover from your illness and talk about it. And I assure you, Manya, I'll take away all your sorrows. I said and bend down to kiss her on her forehead.

She looked at me with something in her eyes that I can't describe. As if she was longing to have this comfort from someone. I don't know why I kissed her but it did not feel uncomfortable to us. She also closed her eyes in relaxation. I bade her bye when Arjun came after changing his clothes and food in his hand.

I left for home because I didn't have the mood to go back to the office. I reached home and saw everyone sitting in the living room except khushi.

I greeted them and they asked me why I was home so early. I told them that I was in the hospital to meet Manya. Listening about Manya mom called Deepika aunty.

After talking with Deepika aunty mom told us that Deepika aunty has invited us for dinner as it's Yahaira's birthday the day after tomorrow. They were not celebrating with a big party because of Manya and Amrita. So they arranged a small celebration with theirs and our family.

We talked for sometime and I went to my room to freshen up. After that I went to bed and thought about all the incidents that happened in the past.

Suddenly I remembered the party incident. I abruptly stood up from the bed and paced in the room, thinking about that man who met Manya in the party. I immediately called my investigator and told him to find about that man and asked my assistant the details of all the members who were present in the meeting yesterday

How could I forget she was scared to see someone or something in the meeting. Before the meeting she was fine. But after that she was scared so it's related to someone in the meeting, I thought.
