Kokichi doesn't enjoy lying as much as most people likely assume.

From how he acts in the game and how some of his lies seem to have more consequences than positive effects, I theorize that Kokichi isn't actually fully in control of his lies.

Lying is a habit for him. Kokichi (according to this theory) is a compulsive liar.
