Chapter one
Lydia's P.O.V.
I sat once again in the same spot on the bench in the middle of the park. My headphones on as I watch people go about their daily lives.
I rest my head back on the bench finding comfort in the warm atmosphere, still I don't know why I always come here. A sigh passes my lips while the soft hum of music plays on sending a message to my feet.
With my eyes still close I got to my feet slowly I enter my world, the very body I own lose control from my mind.
But when the music stops I stop, my breathing heavy with light sweats forming on my forehead.
Hearing soft claps my eyes flew open, a few kids and their parents form a small crowd watching me as if I just performed with Beyoncé or on broadway. Heat automatically rushes to my cheeks at how embarrassed I was, I stood like a deer caught in headlights.
"Wow, that was awesome!" A little girl cried out in glee bursting with excitement. I smile a little seeing how bright her eyes shone.
"Mom, did you see that!" Another shouted sharing the same excitement while jumping in her spot. I was about to turn around when her mother stopped me, her very action at how she looked at her daughter laughing at her silliness bought warmth to me.
Then I realized why I'm here, my feet pulled me to the very spot my mother and I, always came to before she passed.
It feels like it was only yesterday.
A small pang hit my chest one of remembrance but without the pain.
A loud ringing pulls me from my thoughts, I must have been deep in my memories I didn't realize the small crowd had cleared out.
I quickly grab my phone turning off the alarm.
"Crap, I'm so late." I hurriedly pack up my things in hast throwing on my backpack, checking my watch as I ran exiting the park.

"Shall we begin class."
"Wait, wait I'm here." I said running full speed almost tripping, trying to tie my black hair in a small donut shaped bun.
"Look who finally came to grace us with her presences." The dance teacher said in a mocking tone, walking straight to me like a predator. I gulp down at the intense look in her eyes.
"This is the third time Miss Mason." She said walking around me, "This will not be tolerated, speak to me after class." She said stopping sharp in her steps I almost got a heartache. When she finally walks away I felt the air rushing back to me.
"Now we begin."
°°°
"Gosh, my feet hurt." Jade said in pain, I sat beside her once again lost in my thoughts.
"Hey Ly, what's on your mind." She said catching me off guard, her small laugh bursts out at how fast I jumped.
"Honestly, I don't know, but I'm fine." I said reassuring her, I squeeze her hand in attempt that she belives me.
And she did going back to what she was doing.
Honestly, I don't know what is wrong with me lately. I'm scaring myself even more. It's like my thoughts are more on my mother and less on me.
I wave goodbye to Jade. After meeting with Mrs. Yang, I don't know what to think.
'Miss Mason this is your final strick, if you don't want to be here then leave and stop wasting the classes and my time'
A light sigh passes my lips, I can't say how many times I did that today it felt like my normal way of breathing today.
This isn't my first dance class today, nope, this is just ballet class the very same class that my Father forces me to take. Well, he dosen't know I don't want to take ballet, I can't bring myself to tell him that I don't like the very dance style that my mother loved.
I sigh and untie my pink ballet shoes and take them off, before heading to the locker room. My dance classes are at my high school as this high school is only five minutes away from Pairs Island where I unfortunately live. My father is a Commander and he is like the top Commander or whatever. I don't involve myself in his work.
I quickly change out of my pink leotard and pink tights, and change into black booty shorts and a white sports bra. I let my hair out of that ridiculous tight bun and into a lose ponytail.
I personally don't know how my mother loved Ballet, to me it's for people who love to be graceful and not like to move alot. Of course you move alot but your mostly on your tippy toes. My toes and feet are always bruised from that ridiculous dance style.
I quickly throw my ballet stuff into my teal duffel bag and quickly jog out.
Jade unfortunately dosen't do hip hop like me, she dose ballet and ballroom dancing. Her parents are very rich and own houses in basically every country. But fortunately unlike her parents Jade is nice and is my only friend, actually, she is my best friend. We've been friends scents forever! I seriously don't remember a time when Jade and I, weren't friends.
She's one of the only reasons I made it through...
I sigh as I run down the dark hallway it's almost seven at night and the school is closed to everyone who dosen't do after school activities. Hip hop class is a hall over from where Ballet is and usely I am always late for both.
I walk in secretly making sure no one was in the hall, it would be too troublesome if someone who knew my father caught me dressed like this.
I don't even want to imagine that conversation!
The loud bass greets my ear drums, it wasn't that loud just enough to fill the empty hallway.
I stood at the door, training was in session. The fierce movements left me in a standstill as the song 'Team' by Iggy Azalea played.
The three top dancers took charge, their movements would pull anyone into join. They were fast, sassy and fun movements.
Plus, let's not forget a killer workout.
"Hey Lydia you made it, just in time too." Mr. King said looking at the clock on the wall while pulling me into the room. The music came to a stop as soon as I sat down.
I got captivated by this style of the dance cause of how powerful the movements are and how free you feel while dancing.
When you dance it's like...the world just stops.
Once the music starts again and I'm at the front showing some new comers simple moves. Everyone else is doing their own thing, I notice our male dance teacher talking to some boy who is wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants, his back is to me but I can tell he is definitely got muscles and he is tall, around 6'2 or 6'4 maybe.
I shake my head and ignore the guy and finish up showing them how to pop and lock it.
"Hey Lydia! Come here!" I sigh as Mr. King calls me over. I quietly excuse myself from the group and jog over to Mr. King and the new boy.
"Yeah?" I ask once I get to them.
I felt a little nervous but I was also curious about this mysterious looking guy.
Who is he?
I've been going to Pairs academy all my life and I know everyone. So who is this guy? Mr. King was on about class and how I was the best dancer there but I wasn't paying mind to that.
The hooded figure didn't look anywhere else it's as if he was ignoring me or something.
But the words Mr. King spoke shocked me to my very core and not in a good way.
"I'm pairing you guys up." He said with his monotone voice.
"You can start tomorrow." He said giving the new kid a light pat on the shoulder. With that he disappear without saying a single word.
Leaving me to deal with Mr. Mysterious.
Great.
