Have you ever been eating a slightly spicy soup, and then some of it tries to slip down the wrong tube, and then you swallow a gulp of air trying to stop it, resulting in a coughing fit? But you still have soup in your mouth, so you clap your hand over it to keep the soup from spewing out due to all the coughing, which results in the soup entering your nasal passage, which burns because the soup is slightly spicy, which causes your eyes to water and your nose to leak. And you STILL have to choose between swallowing the rest of that soup or spitting it out.
