《Chapter 14》
Boom
Boom
Boom
The haven of beauty and purity, a realm unreachable by mere mortals and beings of evil- the heavens; yet it was on the verge of destruction.
The heavens burned. The once blooming flowers died and turned to ashes as evil energy loomed over them. The person responsible walked over the field of dead flowers, the scrunching of dead flowers sounding pleasant to the being.
The weaker angels flew away from the now corrupted place filled with evil energy. Their meek divine energy can do no harm, let alone purify that dense energy. The cries of the weak angels echoed all around.
Smoke, scent of blood and destruction filled the air. No longer was present the sweet aroma of blooming flowers. No longer was the warm divine energy surrounding the space. No longer did it look like 'heavens'.
The being of darkness caused havoc in the heavens and laughed in a way that terrified even the angels.
Somewhere in the heavens, seven angels gathered.
"You won't believe what I heard!" Gabriel exclaimed.
"Gabriel…. It's true…" Raphael solemnly stated.
"But how can this be?" Belial questioned in disbelief.
"We killed him…. That is undeniable." Uriel mumbled.
"This energy… there's no doubt," Michael looked horrified stating this.
"It's the King of Hell," Azazel gritted his teeth.
Lucifer's glasses glinted. "His energy…. He has grown extremely stronger."
A messenger arrived before the seven angels. They brought a message from the King of Heavens. Lucifer opened it and read the contents. When he was done, he put it down. The look on his face was scarily serious.
"His Majesty said to march to His throne room. We'll face the King of Hell there."
. . . . . . .
In a humoungous hall so glorious that all the glory of the universe combined together cannot compare, sat a lone figure.
Golden hair long and so shiny that it radiated divine light, eyes as white as nothingness. In those white eyes were tiny dots of golden, more sparkly than gold itself. The robe he wore put every cloth in the universe to shame. Even his royal robe emitted golden divine energy.
Despite the chaos unfolding in the heavens, he sat there calmly, chin resting on the back of his hand that was on the armrest of his throne. In his eyes, there was reflection of nothing. As if what was happening didn't exceed his omnipotence.
The King of Heavens sat still even while he felt ominous energy approach him. The grand doors of his throne room burst open and in came black shadow. The King of Heaven stared down at the being of evil with an expression that revealed nothing. He didn't move as the King of Hell approached his throne and stood at the centre of the throne room.
"It has been a while." The voice of King of Heavens was so light yet so commanding.
"Indeed, a while since I faced myself." Contrary to the King of Heavens, the voice of the King of Hell was hollow and deep beyond imagination.
The two kings were, in fact, two sides of a coin. Goodness and badness, separated from a single being had taken two forms.
"Have you come to carry out your millenia old desire?"
"Of course. That throne is mine to usurp. The hell, heavens and earth will be mine."
"Frivolous you are as ever."
"And twisted you are as always."
Light and dark were facing each other at equal intensity.
Just then, cutting through the darkness covering the grand doors with rays of light came seven angels, followed behind by an army of angels. Leading them was none other than the leader of the army, Lucifer.
Lucifer flew behind the King of Hell, his sword unsheathed. Behind him, his six comrades also took position. The army of angels also remained guarded.
The King of Hell turned around, the dark aura clearing a bit.
"...!!!"
Clang
Eiichi dropped his sword.
Eiichi's eyes widened in the greatest shock he ever felt. "Akari?"
Behind Lucifer, the six great angels also gasped at the most unexpected sight.
Before them stood a woman, her wavy hairs jet black, black eyes hollow like pits of emptiness. On the ghostly pale skin under her eyes were black symbolic marks across her cheek.
"Akari?" 'Akari' repeated, her voice nothing like usual, instead, a deep and hollow manly voice. "Is that what the vessel is called?"
There it was again- vessel. Eiichi had heard the term before.
"The most unsuitable name for the vessel- Akari or light." All the angels shivered from hearing the terrifying and intimidating voice.
"Akari…?" Nagi, Shion and Yamato mumbled her name.
"Akari-chan…?" Van couldn't believe his eyes.
"Tenshouin-san…?" Eiji and Kira couldn't underatand what was going on.
And in the greatest conflict was Eiichi. To see his Akari in this state was unexplainable.
Unbothered by their shock, 'Akari' or the King of Hell blasted an attack directed at the army of angels. The blast of dark energy caught them all off guard and the angels got seriously injured. The power of the Dark King was at another level now.
Eiichi could tell one thing. This wasn't Akari.
Those hollow black eyes that radiated evil energy without blinking couldn't be Akari. There was something about the situation he was missing.
Eiichi radiated his divine energy and to his surprise, nothing happened. He couldn't cut through the dense fog of dark energy.
'Akari' looked at her pale hand. ". . . The vessel has exceeded my expectation."
Vessel again… Eiichi muttered through his gritted teeth. "What do you mean by vessel?"
The King of Heavens finally stood up from His throne. Slowly, he walked down the long stairs, his hands behind his back. He walked towards them. Each step he took echoed across the throne room.
He spoke, "The human you were bound to protect is the vessel of extraordinary energy source." He looked at 'Akari'. "Consuming her, one would be granted unrivalled strength."
"What…." Eiichi's purple eyes widened behind the glasses. "That wasn't what… we were told."
"What the seven of you were assigned with, Lucifer, was the task of protecting her from evil clutches. You have succeeded in your duty and annihilated the King of Hell. However, it was only a partial of his true strength."
'Akari' or The King of Hell expanded his evil energy and hit the army of angels with another blast, leaving them bleeding miserably. Kira and the rest had managed to evade his attack.
"The seal I had cast over him millennium ago exhausted only a half of his energy. The rest half remained within him. It is only when all of his energy is exhausted then he will truly perish." The King of Heaven had no effect from the blasts of dark energy the King of Hell shot. The throne room was in havoc of destruction.
The King of Light continued calmly, "With a fragment of his power that I had exhausted and a fragment of my energy, I created a soul. The blessed soul. . . More specifically, the sacrifice."
Eiichi ran cold from the information. "The. . . sacrifice…?"
"Over time, our energies mingled together and created the vessel containing energy equivalent to the one he had lost. I created a body and that is the birth of Tenshouin Akari."
The King of Hell continued attacking the army of angels, blasting shots of dark energy one after another. Kira, Nagi, Eiji, Van, Yamato and Shion were the only ones unhurt and trying to counter his attacks by dodging.
Being near the King of Heavens' divine energy kept Eiichi protected.
"Once he has consumed the vessel completely, he will regain his original strength. It is during that time that he must be eliminated."
"What about…." Eiichi's voice was trembling. "What about Akari?"
"The vessel shall also perish after meeting its purpose."
"!!!!!!!"
Akari….. will die…. She was just the sacrifice…. Meant to be used all along…. He thought back to the pain she underwent because of the aftereffects. They finally made sense as the king's evil energy resonated inside her.
Meanwhile, none of the six angels wanted to fight the King of Hell inside Akari. She looked different but those features were the same. Yet, they had to protect the other angels who were now tattered in their own blood.
Even without an army of minions, the Dark King was overpowered enough to deal with an army of angels with a single blow.
The King of heavens' voice rang. "When the seven of you were assigned to her protection and faced him, it had gotten clear to me that without letting him take over the vessel, he will remain undefeated and shall rise over and over again. The vessel was bound to be sacrificed."
Nagi sobbed, while remaining in his defensive stance. "All this time… Akari was….!"
"Akari's fate had long been decided…" Shion cried out.
"Why did she have to face this fate!" Yamato growled in frustration.
"Akari-chan was right… In spite of being the blessed soul, she was always cursed…" Van looked down sorrowfully.
"Even now. . . . She must be suffering in that body," Kira said solemnly.
"Is there no way to save Tenshouin-san?" Eiji felt helpless.
Suddenly, a dense ball of dark energy hit the six angel and they got thrown to the other corner of the throne room.
Despite this, the King of Heavens remained calm and unmoving. It might be because his divine powers paralled his. "Millennia ago, I did not have enough strength to exterminate Him entirely. As the Ruler of Heavens now, I cannot shed blood of one."
"That is why," The golden bits in His eyes glowed and the sword that was on the floor levitated and got down on Eiichi's hands.
"Annihilate him, Lucifer."
To be continued
Haha... I'm sure no one expected this twist XD
