Chapter 4

Gif of Anna above

I've felt pain a lot of times before. Emotionally, mentally, socially, but never really has it ever been physical.

As my eyes fluttered open all I could think about was the pain. The burning feeling on my wrists and the soreness all throughout my entire body. The worst part though, was the aching of my stomach. It felt as if someone has punched me multiple times.

Once I finally got my vision got clear I looked around the sketchy room. It was dark, no windows at all. The floor, walls, and ceiling were all the same bland color of gray. There were pillars all over the large room and the ceiling looked like it might collapse if they weren't there. The only object in the room was a large closet, a few chairs, and a knife laying on the floor.

Seeing the knife made my heart beat a little faster. I finally realized my wrists were burning because of the metal cuffs tight around them. The cuffs were attached to the ceiling, pulling my arms. I was on my toes trying to not pull my hands of with them.

I groan as tears fall down my face. I viciously pull on the cuffs and scream. "Help! Somebody please help!"

Then I heard the sound of a door opening. I couldn't turn my body enough to see who is was though.

"Did somebody call for help?" I heard a voice say, followed by the sound of footsteps.

Then she walked in front of me. The girl I met in the store, the one who broke into my hotel room, was now standing here.

"Why am I here?" I yell, thrashing against the handcuffs.

"Well you wouldn't be here if you would have just came with me the first time I asked," she calmly said.

"So now what?" I whispered, my voice breaking. "Are you just going to kill me?"

"Oh no. Wouldn't dream of it. Were just going to have a little fun," she laughs.

She throws a hard punch into my stomach, causing my body to fly back a few inches. She laughs, walking to the large closet.

It squeaks as she opens it. I gasp in surprise and fear at the contents inside the closet. Every weapon you could possibly think of, some I don't even know the names of, was here in this room with us. I'm tied up and hopeless against her.

She grabs a very large machete and walks slowly towards me.

I back away as far as I could, which was hard considering I was cuffed to the ceiling.

She got right in front of my face and touched the blade to my cheek. I shuddered and her smile got wider.

She brought the blade to my arm and looked like she was about to dig in into my skin. Before she could the door busted open.

"What is going on here?" a male voice boomed, across the room.

The girl went from crazed murderer to a frightened girl in half a second. She backed away until her back hit the wall. The man walked around me like a hall stalking its prey. Saying I was intimidated was an understatement.

He finally stopped in front of me. "Are you Bella?" he looked to the girl. "Is this Bella?"

I merely nodded my head and he took a step back. "My, my, my."

"CeCe," he commands and she scurries up to him. "The most important rule was that we were not to hurt a hair on her head. Was that not clear enough to you?"

"I-it," she stutters. "It was very clear sir."

"Leave," he commands. "I'll deal with you later."

She hurries away with a slam of the door. I gulp, more fearful of the man than the girl.

He looks about 6'6 with a built, muscular figure. I reckon he's in his late 40's or early 50's because of the few gray hairs in his slicked back, black hair.

"I'm so sorry about this," he apologizes but his voice isn't exactly apologetic. "She doesn't know when to stop sometimes. New to this whole thing."

He pulls a key out of his pocket and unlocks the cuffs. I immediately rub my wrists.

"No thank you?" he questions.

It was stupid, but I did it anyway. I run to the door and start turning the knob. When it doesn't open I look back at the man. He hasn't moved from him spot. Because he knew I couldn't leave, I think.

"We can do this the easy way or the hard way. The hard way isn't ideal for either of us though and I don't want to hurt you. I'm your friend Anna," he tells me, taking a step closer.

"My name's Bella," I inform him.

"Oh yes that's right. Only Gavreel calls you Anna," he says. "Very well, anyway if you agree not to run away again, I'd like for us to go somewhere and have a little chat."

I don't say anything and he takes that as a yes. I don't know Gavreel is, but hearing their name makes me feeling something. I don't know what it is and I can't describe it. All I want is to meet this Gavreel. Maybe they could save me.

"You took me to a bar?" I question.

It didn't seem like his kind of scene. With his expensive suit, gelled hair, and perfect posture, he seemed out of place.

"Not good enough for you?" he asks, smirking.

"No. I just didn't think it would've been good for you," I retort back.

"Well, nothing really is," he smirks, narsastically.

I roll my eyes and look around the place. It's just like every other bar I've ever been to, except for the fact that barely anyone was here. Probably just people who spend every waking second here.

"So what do you want from me?" I ask, boldly.

"Hmm, not wasting time I see," he says, putting his drink down.

"Yeah, I want to know why a strange man kidnapped me!" I exclaim.

He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose before saying, "I'm not sure how to ease you into what I'm about to tell you, so I'll just go ahead and tell you. I'm a vampire and the girl back there was one too. You need to stay with us for the time being, because there's people who are currently looking for you. They'll hurt you in ways you've never even heard of, just to figure out things you have no idea about."

I stared at him. "I'll start screaming right now and these people will call the police."

I look at the drunken people who probably wouldn't even realize it I was started screaming bloody murder. Well there goes my reliable resource.

"Go ahead and try. We'll only kill them all," his voice was serious. "Look, we're not the bad guys here. Yes, it may seem that that way, but please we're only trying to help you."

I scoff. "And you want me to believe your a vampire? Are you kidding me? You would've had a better chance of convincing me, had you left that part out."

I get ready to stand up and he grabs my arm. I look at him as he stares at me. Then he opens his mouth and all of his teeth turn larger and sharper. I gasp, shaking off his hold.

Then as quickly as they came, his teeth went back to their original shape.

"Anna," he begins to say before seeing my look. "Bella, please what can I do to convince you we're the good guys?"

"What if I were to go with you?" I ask. "What would I being doing?"

"Training," he responds. "Training to fight the people who want to hurt you. The same one's that killed your mother."

I gasp again. How did he know about my mom? What else does he know about her?

He begins to speak again, "and honestly Bella, what do you have to lose? Besides your own life?"

I didn't say anything. I didn't have anything to say.

"If I wanted to kill you I would have let CeCe have her way with you," he puts his hand out to me. "So what do you say? Ready to take some risks?"
