Epilogue
After a lot of effort, June finally began to recover.
With the help of her new family and doctor Emily, June began to catch up on her school life and joined an all-girls school, owing to her plead that she didn't want to speak to any guy anymore. Although both teachers and students treated June with care and tried to talk with her, she wouldn't let her guard down and simply remained alone most of the time. Her only focus was now on studying, scoring marks, and graduating as soon as she could. Back in her old school, their plannings for senior prom had always been a topic of excitement for the entire batch - they had prom since eighth grade, but the final year of prom was always said to be the best. June and her friends too were awaiting that one occasion, and though they still had two years left for senior prom, they would discuss it. Unlike all that planning and hype, June had a silent, disappointing graduation in her new school, with no friends, no prom, no party. Her mother prepared special dinner for them that day and that was it.
The case went on for many years. June was called up to the court for multiple hearings, considering how complicated this case was. There was no other proof that Jasper did the crime except that June heard his voice and the chats between him and Jean Jacobs, which weren't considered as solid proof. But using his power, Andrew Davids managed to keep Jasper in prison for a longer time and try to prove his guilt somehow. Everytime June entered the court, her legs trembled and her eyes shut by themselves in the fear that she would see Jasper there. But having known her condition already, the jury let her stand outside instead of coming in and having to face her attacker. By the last few hearings, only Mr.Davids was required to come since he was her legal guardian and June couldn't bear it anymore. She went into therapy for more years until she could finally start to cope with it.
Many times, June felt like it was the end for her. Maybe that's why everything was happening in the exact opposite way that she wanted it to happen. Maybe she should just end her life and get it over with. But the reminder that some people still cared about her, that all the efforts Lucas put in to make her comfortable and safe, that all the love her mom showered upon her, that all the time Mr.Davids was wasting for her, would be wasted if she died, made her reevaluate her option.
Otherwise, she would've done that already. Her family was the sole reason she wasn't doing it. She wanted to make them happy, make them forget the loss of their beloved daughter by her presence although she would never really be a replacement for their own blood. But if they lose her too, they would probably go into depression and Mr.Davids will feel even more guilty than he already does.
At last, she decided that she shouldn't end her hopes simply because of some problems in life. It's not the end of her life yet, sure, but it's definitely the end of one whole chapter of her life. In one year, so much had happened. Her life had changed - either for the better, or for the worse.
It was time to move to the next chapter, and June was more than willing to finally move on...

Author's note
I'm aware that this was kind of an abrupt ending, but don't worry, it's not actually the end. There's a sequel coming up and that's why the ending seems rushed. Until now, I was in turmoil about the new book's cover and title, but I'm almost done with it so it will probably be here before February.
I started this book way back when I was thirteen and now that I'm seventeen, I think it's time that I end it on a major cliffhanger instead of going on with the same book and ending up with 100+ chapters. This book is my favorite and the one that gives so much nostalgia because when I started it, it had simply been a romance novel between a bodyguard and the girl he protects. And now look how it turned out and how many prizes and views it received. I'm very thankful to all those people who supported me and made this book such a great success.
Thank you!
