James' POV.

I was awoken by a sudden chorus of noise.

"Happy birthday James" they all shouted in unison.

"Thanks guys" I smiled as I pulled myself on the bed.

"We have a surprise for you" Barclay explained.

"Will I like it?" I asked, wiggling my eyebrows.

"I'm pretty sure you will" I heard a sweet girls voice, the boys moved out of the way and Alexie was stood smiling in the doorway.

"Lex!" I called as I got out of my bed and pulled her into a hug.

"Someone's in love!" Jake laughed and Barclay hit him playfully.

"Thats his best friend" I heard Tom say.

"I have a surprise for you James" she smiled.

"And that is?" I said excitedly.

"Well, we are having a party, here tonight with everyone!" Jake shouted. Barely able to contain his excitement.

"What after the results show?" I questioned and everyone nodded.

"Yeah, the girls are going to stay here whilst everyone else is at the studio" Reece added.

"So I'm meeting the girls?" Alexie asked.

"Yeah and Bradley" Tom beamed.

"Well, we better get going" Charlie suggested.

"Yeah, cause I need to speak to Alexie" I spoke up. She smiled and planted herself next to me on my bed.

We could hear a chorus of oohs and awws coming from the hallway.

"Shut up and fuck off" she called loudly. There's my best friend. That's what I've been missing. Her shouting offensively.

"I, I've missed you" I quickly stuttered.

"I've missed you too bestie" she beamed back. My god, she was beyond beautiful.

"So where's my present?" I joked.

"You'll get it later" she winked. I laughed. What an idiot. But what did she mean?

"Help me find something to wear?" I asked. She nodded.

"Anyone in particular your trying to impress?" She laughed.

"There might be someone" I muttered. Thankfully she just thought I'd ignored her.

"I think you should wear this, with these, with that jacket and those shoes" she smiled as she pointed to each item of clothing that was scattered across the room.

"You guys were incredible last night, you were obviously the best one there" she smiled. Her beautiful smile had me hooked. I couldn't say anything, but I was in love with her, my best friend.

"I know, I killed it right" I joked.

"Indeed you did, you better get changed. Haven't you got things to attend to?" She laughed. She stayed on the bed, she watched me get changed numerous times.

"Yeah but I've missed you and you've got loads to tell me don't you?" I answered back.

"Na, Essex has just been Essex I suppose" she shrugged.

"Oh that's good, how's your journalism project going?" I asked.

"I've been given a big task" she beamed.

"And you can help me" she explained as she poked me in the chest.

"And how may I be of your assistance Miss Sandford?" I said in my best posh accent.

"I'm writing about your X factor journey. From Essex boy to boy band hottie" she said whilst gesturing it, as if that were the title of her article.

I chuckled.

"You think I'm a hottie?" I winked.

"Na, I'd prefer Charlie" she winked back.

"He's 14"

"Maybe not, Reece?" She questioned.

"He's 16"

"What about Barclay?" She smiled broadly.

"Na, he's off the market love, your not allowed around any of the boys, it's the bro code" I added.

"You and the bloody bro code, I am a bro tho aren't I?" She asked. I nodded.

You see, Lexi isn't your average girl, she was very much one of the girls. I loved how she would just parade around in my clothing. She'd come over and help me with my work and then she'd play FIFA with me and all kinds. I've seen her dressed like a girl once, like full blown girly. In a dress and with her hair and make up down. She looked beyond incredible.

"Right, I better get going. We have shit loads of press and rehearsals to do" I pouted and pulled her in for a hug.

"I'll see you later birthday boy" she smiled into my neck. I didn't want to let go of her.

- Alexie's POV -

I had missed James loads. I had missed seeing my best friend everyday. I missed waking up to stupid texts from him. But tonight, tonight I could stay with him.

We can lie in bed together and talk about the past and the future. I missed that. I missed inhaling his scent as he played with a few strands of hair that would fall upon my face.

A faint sound of crying was audible from upstairs, must mean that Chelsea & Bradley are downstairs.

I bounded down the stairs, I wondered if she would remember me.

"Urm, you must be Lexi" she smiled as she cradled the tiny baby.

"Yeah, are the other girls here yet?" I asked.

"No, have you met them before?" She asked.

"I've heard of Jess, that's about it" I replied as I sat on the sofa across from her.

"Would you like to hold him?" She smiled.

"Yeah he looks like such a cutie" I answered. He was gorgeous.

"Bradley Jayce Mann, born July 31st" Chelsea beamed.

"Your little mann awe" I giggled. "Excuse the pun" I added.

"I've actually never heard that, what a good pun" Chelsea smiled. Her brunette hair tied into a bun. She was dressed simply, with a jumper and leggings. Bradley was in a cute blue stars printed all over.

"Anything I need to know?" I asked whilst looking down at the cute little baby snuggled up in my arms.

"Well, Jess is going out with Barclay, she's really nice, she's very talkative and bubbly" she began to speak.

"Melina prefers to be called Meli, she's going out with Jake. She's very pretty and she's a bit of a bad ass, just like Jake" we both chuckled in unison.

"Faye is a blonde bombshell, she's fiery and feisty and suits Chris' laid back approach" she added.

"Then lastly there's Brooke & Casey, cute and quiet, the pair of them" she smiled.

"Ahh, speaking of the devils" I laughed as a bunch of girls all walked into the room.

"How's the beautiful little boy?" One of the girls smiled.

"He's fine, he's just with Alexie" I heard her call.

"Oh James' girlfriend Alexie?" I smiled to myself. I used to wish I was his girlfriend but not anymore, I'm happy with my best friend.

"Oh, I'm his best friend, not girlfriend" I corrected them.

"Oh sorry sweetie, nice to meet you, I'm Brooke" a beautiful tall blonde girl spoke. She seemed abit more outgoing than Chelsea has just explained.

"It's nice to meet you too, I'm Alexie, but you can call me Lexi if you prefer" I smiled back. I was still cradling Bradley until he began crying. Chels came straight over and began to sooth him.

"Hey, I love your jumper, burgundy suits you" smiled the brunette. "I'm Melina, but call me Meli" she continued.

"Oh thank you, I love your braiding, you'll have to show me sometime" I added, trying to bond with the girls. They looked like a strong friendship group who supported their boyfriends, and I was just Lexi, here with my best friend.

"I'm Faye" another blonde spoke. This time with a cute Irish accent. "I'm Chris' girlfriend, don't worry if you hear us talking, we don't sound like we are speaking English" she chirped.

"And you must be Jess" I smiled to the remaining girl in the room.

"Pleasure to meet you at last Lexi, Barclay and the boys have been telling me all about you" she said pulling me into a hug.

"What have they been saying?" I said curiously.

"All good" Meli smiled.

"Would you girls be able to help me? Like with a few things?" I suggested.

"Of course" Brooke called across the room as she draped her body on the sofa.

"Firstly I'm a journalist, any gossip on the boys? And secondly, I'm out to impress someone tonight. Could you give me a make over?" I looked up away from my lap and saw them all beaming.

"We'd love too" they all replied.
