Chapter 34
(Y/N POV)
My minds blurry.
My eyes fluttered open, the sun stinging them with the morning rays.
I rubbed my eyes harshly, a headache etched into my brain. I was used to waking up to hangovers, but none of them were this bad. I propped myself onto my elbows and looked around my room.
Except, it wasn't my room.
I was in a small bedroom with white walls, stuck in a mess of sheets and blankets. The room was tidy, although I could see some unfinished soda cans on top of the mantle. I sat up, alarmed, and clambered off of the mattress.
I heard ringing in my ears, and my head seemed to be filled with water as I walked, because it felt heavy and limp. I pressed myself up against the door, and tried to breathe.
I heard muffled voices from outside, but I was in too much of a terrible state to tell what they were saying. I could vaguely remember yesterday, and I tried to figure how I would end up here. This was definitely not a hospital.
Suddenly the door swung open, and hit me in the back of the head with a knockout force. I swear I could feel my brain move.
"Oh my god," the voice said, "I didn't know you were awake! Are you okay?"
Was this my attacker? Did he kidnap me with plans to sell me on the black market? I was lying on my stomach, on the brink of passing out, but I frantically looked around the floor for something I could use to defend myself.
The person behind me started to advance, probably to kick me in the shin or hit me. I saw a tv remote from under the bed, and I grabbed it as fast as I could . rolling onto my back I chucked it at their face without hesitation.
It was a boy about my age, and he went stumbling back against the door with the collision. He cried out in surprise, and rubbed his face in pain, tossing the remote off to the side.
"Oh my god," I mumbled, "Finn?"
The curly haired boy's face was blushing red as he stared back at me. A sudden tension was cast around the room, and neither of us knew what to say. He groaned and stood up, dusting off his khaki pants.
"I suppose I should have knocked," he mumbled, "sorry."
"Are you okay? Sorry, I didn't realize it was you."
"I've had worse. Are you feeling better?"
My hand raised to my temple, pressing on the space between my skull. How did he know about my headache? And why was I even in his house?
"A little," I said, "how did I get here?"
The question should have been 'how did I get here with you of all people', but I'm sure he's used to people freaking out over meeting a celebrity. And honestly, I've had enough of people who thought they were better than everyone else. Maybe Finn was different, but I could never be too sure.
"You were drunk last night," he said softly, "after the show I ran into your friend."
"Molly?"
"She was going on and on about how some guy you didn't know was leaving with you, and so I went to find you," he explained, "then you passed out and I brought you here."
"Does she know I'm here?"
"Yeah, she knows. I can drive you home if you want."
"Thanks," I muttered, "sorry I had to black out on you."
"Don't worry, your safety is all that matters."
"But I barely know you, why should I matter?"
"Everyone matters," he said, "I wouldn't let that man harm you last night. That's why."
"Oh, thank you."
He nodded politely and took a step towards the door. I could feel my headache lighten up slightly, and I smiled at him faintly.
"I'll be downstairs," he said, "Sarah has some clothes you can borrow, and I'll find you something to eat."
"Sarah?"
"My girlfriend."
"Tell her I say thank you."
"I will."
