Chapter 19

(Y/N POV)

Look at us.

"You didn't tell him where we were, did you?" Blake asked.

"No I didn't, why?"

Everyone stared at the ground, not making a sound. I could get a feeling something weird was happening between the cast and Aidan, but I didn't know the exact reason.

"Do you guys not like him?" I asked, assuming the worst.

They set down their food and started taking it out. Ethan waved his arms around at my accusation, denying it in the weirdest possible way.

"No we do," he explained, "he's an amazing person, but he can be...... weird."

"Weird?"

"He never talked about you before we met you, but once you ran into Cameron, he's been getting all possessive over you. He claims that he picked you as his assistant because something between you two clicked, but I think he was just saying that to rub it in Dante's face-"

Dante kicked Ethan in the shin, cutting him off. I already knew what he was talking about, but apparently Dante wasn't aware that I had been previously informed.

"Well, were supposed to be eating this food," I said, clapping my hands together, "I'm going to go ahead and dig in."

They had brought burgers from Burger King, a load of fries, milkshakes from Shake Shack, and a random assortment of candy and fruit. As we were eating, I saw Dante's ears perk up to the music that was playing.

The song was Nobody Gotta Know by Why Don't We, and I swear I saw him mouth the words to the lyrics.

"Hey Dante," I said, "I didn't know you liked Why Don't We."

I saw Eden grin at me, but I pretended not to notice. Dante looked shocked that I was talking to him, and he even tried to cover up the smile on his face.

"I don't" he said, going back into his cold state, "what do you mean?"

"I thought you were singing along to the song."

"I wasn't. This song sucks."

"Oh. Well I like their music, so that's unfortunate."

That conversation didn't work out in the least. I caught Cameron sending Dante an accusatory glare, but I played it off. If he wasn't going to own up to his love for WDW, I was going to pull it out of him.

"Hey Eden," I said, "can you skip to another song?"

"Why?"

"Because Dante doesn't like it apparently."

As Eden reached for her phone, Dante flinched and he opened his mouth to say something. But he caught himself and shoved a burger in his mouth.

"What was that?" I said, "did you want to say something?"

He shook his head defensively, but all eyes were on him now. He slowly chewed his meal, pretending like we weren't staring him down.

"Fine," he said, finishing his burger, "I don't actually hate thier music."

"Ah, I see!"

"But I hate them as a band."

"Oh well, you're entitled to have your opinion," I said.

The conversationed rolled back around to something of the strange variety, and no one was really bothered by Dante's sad attitude. He started to warm up a little, but I was done trying to start a conversation at this point. I didn't see a point, and I was already ticked off with Aidan's little message.

Bzzz

That better not be from who I think it is.

Once again, everyone heard my phone go off. I need to really turn the volume down on my notifications. I flipped my phone over, and read the text that still lit up my screen.

Aidan Gallagher

Actually I'm pretty hungry. Can you bring me some rice cakes :)

"That boy better stop," T.J said, "all he wants is for you to leave us for him."

"I have to go though," I explained, "he'll be expecting his rice sticky things."

"You don't have too!"

"I'll be fired."

"Then I'll hire you."

"That's not how it wor-"

"Shut up, I'm trying to make a point."

I sent her a weak smile, and picked up my satchel. Grabbing a strawberry from the fruit basket, I started walking down the hill we were on.

"I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow," I said, "Gallagher needs his rice cakes."
