Chapter 15

(AIDAN POV)

Used to be scared of the ocean.

I was sitting on the steps of my trailer, eating a granola bar I had saved from breakfast. I had been running around the whole trailer park for Y/N, but she disappeared. Blake told me that Cameron took her out for lunch, and I was a little disappointed that she didn't tell me.

I wasn't that hungry to be honest, but I was kind of hoping that she'd bring me back some food from her 'lunch date'. Scratch that, I'm definitely not saying their on a date. That bothers me.

A couple moments later, I heard the sound of someone walking towards me. I glanced at their shoes, and recognized them as Y/N's.

"Oh, you're back," I said, "Blake told me you and Cameron went out to eat."

I didn't mean for it to sound so harsh, I was having trouble figuring out how to talk to her. She's my assistant, so I should be talking to her professionally. But she seemed more than that, so I felt comfortable speaking to her as I would a friend.

I glanced at her hands, and didn't see any food for me. I guess the Granola bar was enough then. She seemed to be looking at me with a worried expression, so I added onto my sentence to reassure her.

"Don't worry about me," I said, "I had the catered lunch to eat."

That was a lie. I didn't have the catered lunch, because they didn't have a vegan option. Y/N was supposed to get my lunch because of that, and since the studio pays for the food, I couldn't go out to eat myself because I didn't have any money with me.

But I didn't want her to feel bad.

"Do you need anything for me to pick up," she asked, "I can get you some ice cream,...."

"I'm vegan remember."

"I'm sure I can find a vegan ice cream store."

Behind her, I saw Cameron walking back to his trailer. Something seemed to churn in my stomach, and I grimaced. What did he have that I didn't? Why'd she ditch me so quickly for a dude she's only known for an hour?

"I'd be careful," I spat out, "you don't know him as much as you think."

I don't know why I said that, it kind of just slipped out. But it was honestly true. If she knew the things Cameron does, she'd see him as nothing more than an average teenage boy.

Her eyes widened, and she seemed to scoff. Clearly what I said had an effect on her. Why was she defending him in the first place? She doesn't even know him!'

"Are you talking about Cameron?" she shot back, "of course I don't know him well, I met him literally today!"

"I never said who I was talking about, calm down!"

"Then who were you talking about?!"

"Forget I even said anything, your life is yours to live."

We ended up arguing a little bit more, but after a couple minutes we resolved the situation and moved on with our lives. She went to go get me ice cream or something, I left to go back to set. I saw her start walking in a separate direction, but I caught a glimpse of the goosebumps on her arms.

Was she really that cold?

I quickly ran back inside my trailer and shuffled around in my backpack for my extra sweater. It was my UN Environmental Ambassador sweater, the ones they only give to the actual ambassador, and I set it down on the table in the center of the trailer.

When she came back she could wear. I wasn't sure if she'd take it or not, but I wanted to at least give her an option. I didn't want her to be freezing or anything.

I saw her heading back towards the trailer so I bolted out of there.

......

honestly I'm just going to separate myself from the Aidan drama and keep writing this book. It seems to have blown over a tad bit.
