~ 98 ~

Heeseung's door was open when she walked by, but she still knocked, not wanting to be rude or anger him.

"What?" he called, not looking up from the game he was playing on his phone. "Come in."

She bit back her smile. It felt like a victory, though a tiny one. "It's me," she said softly, stepping into his room.

He sighed dramatically, turning off his phone and getting up. "What do you want?" he snapped, his voice already angry.

"I made dinner," she said slowly. Hesitantly. "I wasn't sure what you liked... so I looked it up. I found an article that says you like grilled pork belly. I tried making it... I hope it's alright," she said. "I thought it what be nice if we all ate together-"

"What do you think we are, a stupid little family? Go eat by yourself."

She balled her hands into fists. "Heeseung. We have to talk. What's wrong with you? What did I even do-"

"Just leave. I don't want to see you. I don't want to marry you."

Jiyeon scoffed. "Are you kidding me right now? Do you think I want to marry you? After the way you've been treating me? What, you think you're such a catch that I am trying to chase after you and convince you to fall in love with me? Do you seriously think so low of me?" she half-shouted, taking a few steps closer to Heeseung. She was seething with anger. "You're the last person I want to marry," she spat. "I don't love you. I never even liked you like that. But we were good friends at one point, and I stupidly thought maybe we could be friends again. Fine," she said, tears welling in her eyes. "Fine. It's my own fault for being this stupid. But listen. There's nothing either of us can do about this marriage. I thought it would be nice if we at least didn't hate each other. But you know what, that doesn't even matter anymore," she said, the tears finally falling. "Let's just get a nice big house where neither of us need to see or talk to each other. You go your way and I'll go mine. I'll stop talking to you now. I'll stop trying."

She walked out of his room, heading straight to the kitchen and for once not caring about the angry tears that were streaming down her face.

K stood up when she approached the table. "What's wrong-"

"Nothing's wrong," she snapped, grabbing a plate and putting some food onto it. "I'm sorry, but I won't be having dinner with you. I hope you like it though."

"Yeah, it's really good..." Sunoo said tentatively, his eyes worried. Even Sunghoon looked sympathetic and concerned, and she'd just met him.

Part of her wanted to stay. At least she could enjoy her time with them.

But she didn't want to risk running into Heeseung again. She had no intention of seeing him out of formal events or photoshoots or whatever.

Now, she'd be living in her room. That would be it.
