"When I come back, we'll have a day out for the three of us, promise?" Aera said, hugging her dad tight. "You, me, and Mom. Okay?" 

"It's a deal," he said firmly. "Are you crying?" he asked, looking at her face in concern. 

"Of course not," she said indignantly, a tear escaping her eye as she said so. They both laughed. "Okay, maybe a little," she admitted. 

Her father was dropping her off at the airport, and though she'd told herself she wouldn't get emotional... oh well. So much for that. 

"Aera!" 

She spun around, seeing the last person she'd expected. "Sunghoon?" she said incredulously, laughing as he ran over, his suitcase bouncing along behind him. "What are you doing here?"

"To work," he said matter-of-factly. "And to be with you, of course," he added with a playful wink in her direction before bowing to her father. 

"This is Sunghoon, and Sunghoon, this is my Dad," she said, introducing them. "Are you going to Australia too? Why?" 

Sunghoon shrugged. "Because the Chairwoman offered, and I said yes," he said, leaning over and reading her plane ticket. "Our seats are next to each other!" he said triumphantly, holding up his tickets. 

Aera laughed, shaking her head at his enthusiasm. She had to admit, having him so happy and upbeat made her happier too. 

Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad trip after all. 

"I feel relieved now that you're going with a friend," her Dad said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "You two take care of each other, alright?" 

They both nodded. "I have to go now," Aera whispered, hugging him again. "Bye! I'll see you in a month!" she called out, waving as she backed away.
