~ 64 ~
Heeseung hadn't been home in forever. He hadn't seen his mother in forever.
But he was going to see her now.
He charged into her office, expecting to find her there. But she wasn't. He considered making a mess out of her office, breaking things and throwing to the floor, but ultimately decided that it would not help him right now. If anything, it would make things worse.
She'd stepped back from his life, and he'd stupidly taken that to mean that she'd let him live his own life now. That she'd be supportive.
He was a fool for believing that.
Walking around her office, he took deep breaths. He tried to calm himself, to push back his anger, and to think about what he was going to say to her.
All those thoughts disappeared when he approached her desk.
His breath caught, and he picked up the papers. Not papers, pictures.
Pictures of him and Aera. At the park. At the ball. At the club. Even outside of school.
She'd been stalking them?
"You haven't come home in a while."
Heeseung spun around, throwing the photos at his mother's feet and not bothering to greet her. "What is this?" he snapped. "What are you doing?"
"I'm concerned," she said calmly. "You shouldn't be hanging around that girl. She'll only bring you down."
"You know nothing about her."
"I know much more about her than you think I do. And I have much more control over her life than you think I do. Now break up with her before I make you loose her."
"You never cared about my life," he whispered. "You never cared about how I was doing. After Hyerin died you never even asked how I was. And now I'm finally happy again, I'm finally okay. And you're stepping in, just to make me miserable? Are you kidding me?"
"Hyerin is another girl who wasn't good enough for you-"
"Shut up!" he shouted, finally breaking. Angry tears were streaming down his face, but he could care less. "She's dead, so stop talking sh*t about her now. She's dead. Are you happy? Is that what you want to happen to Aera too?"
He started walking to the door.
"I'm setting up meetings with Ahn Jiyeon. You know, the daughter of-"
"I don't want to hear you talk about Hyerin again," Heeseung whispered, interrupting her. His fingers touched the doorknob, and it was only then that he noticed how much his hands were shaking. "Or Aera. Ever."
"Where are you going?"
"Back home," he said, opening the door and turning back to face his mother for a moment. "Home with my friends. Not with you. This isn't my home, and you certainly are no family of mine."
"Give me your things then," she said cooly. "If I'm no family of yours, give me your jacket and your wallet. Let's see how well you'll do without my help."
He took off his jacket and reached into his pocket for his wallet, throwing them both on the floor with the photographs of him and Aera.
"I'm tired of living like this," he whispered.
"You don't know how good you have it."
Heeseung glared at her. "Maybe I do, or maybe I don't. But one thing is for sure... you don't get to dictate my life. Not ever again," he said, finally turning and leaving, slamming the door behind him.

More ✨drama✨
As I said, you'll slowly start to find out more about Hyerin as the book goes on. As it is, I'm sure you can probably guess the big picture😉 Especially if you've watching Cinderella and Four Knights, since I pulled inspiration from that.
Also, the MV for Let Me In?!?!?! First of all, I love that song. But second of all, the MV is so interesting. I want to write a story based on it... but who knows. I also kinda wanna focus on the Enhypen stories I'm already working on for now.
Anyways, I hope you're liking this story so far🥺💖
