~ 47 ~
Aera rolled her suitcase to the park, seeing Heeseung waiting for her on the swings. A tiny smile played on her lips and she stood at the entrance, watching him swing for a minute.
After a moment, he stopped swinging and looked around, seeming to sense that she was watching. He got off the swing and turned around, his eyes meeting hers.
"Aera!" he called, happily running over and tackling her in a hug. "Are you moving? What's with the suitcase?" he asked, not breaking their embrace as he asked her.
"I'm moving into the dorms with you guys," she said softly.
He leaned back a little, meeting her eyes and tilting his head at her, his eyes playful. "Why? Because you can't stand to be parted from me?"
She thought of her Dad's face: tired, sad, disappointed in himself, though he shouldn't be. Both of her parents looked so tired. None of them knew what was going to happen, and Aera knew that they wouldn't be able to stay afloat for long.
Thinking of that, she started crying.
"No," she whimpered. "No, that's not why I moved."
Heeseung's face went from one of playful teasing to one of alarm. His eyes widened and he brushed away her first tears before wrapping his arms tighter around her, pulling her to his chest and just letting her cry.
"I'm sorry," she whispered, shaking her head at herself and stepping out of his embrace. She wiped away her tears.
"What for?"
"For crying," she sniffed, clenching her fists. No more tears. She would be strong.
He laughed, placing his hands on her shoulders and kissing her forehead. "It's okay to cry sometimes," he told her gently, taking her hand. "You never cry, so something must really be wrong. Do you want to talk about it?"
She shook her head.
Heeseung wordlessly took the suitcase from her hand and started leading her out of the playground.
"This will still be here tomorrow, so let's take pictures then," he told her. "For now, let's get you moved in."
