~ 36 ~

- one week later, the night of the dance -

"You look so pretty," Sunghoon gushed, linking their arms together.

"Stop talking and let's go inside," she whined. "I've been waiting outside in the cold for you."

"I'm sorry for being late," he laughed. "You're not angry, are you? You could have just waited inside for me, you know."

"Then I'd be awkwardly standing in a corner, just eating some chips and being anti-social. No thanks."

"You could have met with some of your other friends or something," he said, shaking his head playfully at her.

She stopped, glaring at him. "What other friends? I only have you and Heeseung."

"Really?"

"You never noticed?" she asked, sighing. "As soon as you two set your eyes on me, I lost any chance of having other friends. None of the girls would talk to me."

"But why? Heeseung flirts with everyone, and no one else has that problem."

"How would I know?" she said, looking at the floor. "Let's just go dance, and have some fun, huh?"

She watched a bright smile come back to his face. "Let's go!" he said brightly, pulling her into the room, then onto the dance floor.

"I'm a really bad dancer," she warned him, trying to follow his steps and ending up stepping on his toes.

"That's okay," he said, unconcerned. "Just follow my lead." He ruffled her hair playfully. "Did I tell you that you look pretty today?"

"Just today? Don't I look pretty everyday?" She teased.

"Can't you just take the compliment?" he whined.

Something about this conversation reminded her of ones she used to have with Heeseung.

She hadn't seen him today.

And you're not looking for him. Today, you will only focus on Sunghoon. Today, you will have fun.

"Fine," she huffed, pretending to be annoyed. "Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself."

"I make your heart flutter, don't I?" He teased.

"You wish," she laughed, pushing his shoulder lightly.

"If I don't make your heart flutter, why'd you come to the dance with me?" he said sarcastically.

"Because you're my friend, you dimwit," Aera said, flicking his forehead. "Now shut up and teach me how to dance."

A/N

Eeeeek! We're getting closer to my favorite chapter, one that I think (or hope!) you'll like.

As I promised, since a bunch of you were kind enough to help me us MOODZ stream (we got over 1 mil in a day! Thank youuuu❤️), we will be getting five chapters this week! This is the fourth, the fifth will come a little later in the week, cause I want to space it out a bit.

Remember the kdramas I said I was pulling inspiration from? If you've watched them, this should kinda remind you of a particular scene....
