The Driftveil City Gym

Elesa told me to go to Route 5 so I will once I heal my Pokemon.

As I take my third step onto Route 5, Cheren yells at me to stop so that he could battle me. Kinda rude but alright sure. Daruk, Pills Hoh, and Borffy take his team down with no problem. Elesa finds us and tells us to follow her.

After walking for a second this guy starts talking to us. His name is Alder and he's apparently the Unova region's Champion. That's cool and all but he's not going to have that title for much longer. He calls Cheren "judgemental" and then forces us to double battle two preschoolers. I'm not even joking.

We defeat the preschoolers and Alder gives us a lesson on reasons people have pokemon battles. Before heading to Driftveil City, I try to catch a pokemon on Route 5. I catch a Gothita and name her Tae Takemi. Elesa gets them to lower the drawbridge so that we can get into Driftveil City.

We meet this cowboy named Clay and he's, "the Gym Leader 'round these parts." He blames us for Team Plasma escaping but says that if we find them then we can challenge the gym. That deal kinda sucks but alright. I found a Vanillite in the Cold Storage area and decided to catch it. I named him Gelato. I then head to Route 6 where I catch a Tranquill. I name her Killer because I feel like she could kill literally anything in her path.

I returned to the drawbridge and caught a Ducklett that I named Jaiden because I couldn't think of anything else. Go back to the Cold Storage area and I walk to one of the back storage units. Cheren joins me. I enter the unit and challenge some of the workers to a pokemon battle. Cheren and I find an open storage container in the back of the warehouse. He asks if someone is in there. I have no idea but we decide to go in anyways.

We head into the container for our snuggle time but find Zinzolin, a large figure of Team Plasma, in there! Turns out Cheren was actually looking for this guy and didn't wanna cuddle like I thought. Oh well. After we defeated the Team Plasma members, Clay comes in and arrest them. Good times. Now I have to head towards the gym. I make it to the gym and Ghetsis is here and is have a pleasant conversation with Clay. Ghetsis takes his members back and apologizes for his men causing trouble. Now I can finally challenge the gym.

Snakemoji being a grass type made this gym super easy. Clay starts off with his Krokorok. Snakemoji takes it down with a single hit. Next is his Excadrill which actually can take a lot of hits so it took me a bit to get it out. His last pokemon is Palpitoad which stood no chance against Snakemoji.

And with that victory, we earned the Quake Badge from Clay!
