Chapter 9

4 months later...

SM Entertainment announced that Haejin will be participating in Girls' Avenue's upcoming promotion.

Almost a year ago, the younger Lee went on hiatus due to serious health problems. But the Lees, and the entertainment did not give any further informations due to personal issues.

The said group released a full-length winter album last December that was dedicated to their missing member, Haejin.

May this year when she surprised their fans with her return.

"I don't want our G-Angels to worry about me any longer. I also want to see them again. I promised them that I will only be gone for a short period of time, and I want to keep that promise," said Lee Haejin in an interview yesterday.

September:

"Are you sure that you can handle yourself already?" Mark said, putting his hands on Haejin's shoulders. She sighed, "Oppa, I can do this... no need to worry about me, hm?" She smiled, giving Mark's hand a squeeze.

Mark sighed, "Alright, alright. Promise me one thing first." He said then continued, "Promise me that if you feel something weird, call me or Jaemin or any of hyungs and dongsaengs immediately."

"Alright, I promise." She smiled.

"Oh God, I really don't wanna let you go," Mark pulled his sister in a hug, planting a soft kiss on top of her head. "I love you, sis. Take care, hm?" He said, hugging his sister tightly.

And Haejin was fighting the urge to cry, "I love you too, oppa. Take care too." She said, breaking the hug.

"Go. Someone's waiting for you outside." Mark said, ushering his sister outside. "I'll get this for you." He said, grabbing her things.

She went outside to see her boyfriend waiting for her. He stood up the moment he saw her and immediately hugged her. Her tears immediately fell from her eyes. "Promise me.. that you'll take care of yourself... and that nothing wrong will happen, okay? Promise me, Haejin-ah... promise me." He said, also crying. Worried about the fact that she'll be on her own again. That things like that might happen to her again.

"N-No.." She was crying. He hugged her tighter. "I promise..." She said, returning the hug.

"I hated to interrupt this moment. But Haejin-ah, your shuttle is here." Renjun said, entering the living room.

"Arasseo, Renjun-oppa." She nodded, separating from the hug. She pulled the luggage that Mark was holding earlier, but Mark beat her to it.

"Take care, okay?" He hugged her one more time. She nodded and gave him a shy kiss on his left cheek. "Bye, I love you." She said, rushing outside.

She settled herself inside the shuttle, opened the window and waved goodbye. "Jal ga, Haejin-ah! Hwaiting!" Goodbye Haejin-ah! Fighting!

The van started moving, her eyes scanned the road they're taking. She will surely miss them even though they're literally working under the same entertainment.

"Are you okay, Haejin-ssi?" Their personal driver asked. She nodded, "Ah yes, I'm just nervous. Because it's been a year." She said.

"Don't be, Haejin-ssi, they've been waiting for you." He said.

"Thank you." She replied and smiled. Their personal driver for 3 years was around his mid 40's. And he said that during his early years, he used to drive for Shinhwa, also a group under SM.

At around noon, they arrived at Girls' Avenue's dorm.

"Welcome back, Haejin-unnie!"

"The new group is rumored to debut next next week." Junghee said once she entered their practice room. Haejin sat up, "Really? Who told you?"

"The staffs around have been talking about them." She said, shrugging.

Haejin looked away, "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I don't feel the girls' leader?"

Eunji looked at her, "Jung Sohyun? Why?"

Haejin shrugged, "I don't know. I just don't feel at ease everytime she's around."

"Huh? You're losing me, unnie. What do you mean?" Yui asked.

Haejin sighed, "Fine, I'll be honest. Jaemin and I fought because of her."

They gasped, "Woah you two actually fought? Now that's a thing you won't see everyday," they laughed.

Haejin rolled her eyes, "You guys don't understand."

Silence.

"Junghee, Xiurong, Soeun, and Yui, Yoona is looking for you. It's about the CF with SNSD." Their manager entered the room, dragging the four outside.

"Now, tell me everything that happened," Eunji said.

Haejin sighed, "Remember that time when I stayed at EXO's practice room until you called me because of a meeting?" Eunji nodded. Then she continued, "If you didn't notice, I was really in a bad mood that day. Because Sohyun, was literally clinging onto Jaemin the whole time. And Jaemin? He was just laughing with her, didn't even talked nor looked at me."

"WHAT THE ACTUAL—!!"

Eunji stood up, furious, and it feels like she was gonna beat the hell out of someone. "I wanna talk to that Sohyun girl. I thought everyone here in SM already know about you two?! Is she stupid?!"

"Unnie, they're rookies. Of course they wouldn't know what the heck's happening between me and Jaemin." Haejin replied.

"Then why don't you tell them?" Eunji asked.

"Unnie you know that I'm not that type of person. What do you want me to do, walk straight into their dorm and say, 'Hey, Jaemin and I are dating, back off'? Who would even believe me?" Haejin laughed.

Eunji sighed, "As long as you two don't fight, okay? Or else I'll literally go out there and tell the while world about the thing between you two."

"It won't happen again."

"Oh yeah, it better not."

Meanwhile Xiurong, Yui, Soeun, and Junghee, were with Yoona and Taeyeon, plus SM Rookies (without Sohyun, Sowon, Hayoung, Jaesung and Haneul) to film a CF.

They were currently playing games to kill the time.

"Let's play the matchmaking game!" Taeyeon suggested. "You just have two say names that you think really suit each other. They must be artists here in SM."

The younger artists agreed and nodded.

Minhyun started, "Haneul-hyung and Sowon-noona! The leaders— oh right, Sowon-noona is not the leader."

"Haneul and Sowon? Why do you say?" Taeyeon asked.

"They just look good together!" Minhyun answered.

Junghee was next, because she was sitting next to Jaesung. "Haejin-unnie and Jaemin-oppa!"

The others agreed by clapping their hands and nodding their heads repeatedly. "Of course! I've never seen a couple like them to be honest," Taeyeon said.

"Wait what's with them, noona?" Chasung asked.

"Oh right, you guys don't know... I guess you need to know since you're already a part of SM." Soeun said. "They've been dating secretly for 3 years."

"3 YEARS?!" The rookies exclaimed.

Soeun nodded, "The fans don't know. But all of us here in SM knows about them. Please keep this a secret? It's Haejin's request."

The rookies nodded.

"We promise, unnie." Herin said.
