Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Sensing that Jaemin already left the room, Haejin slowly lifted her head up. He saw a note beside her, seeing the word 영원히... forever...
She smiled, getting a sticky note and writing the words ...그리고 항상 and always...
(a/n: for those who can't read korean, the phrase 영원히 그리고 항상 means forever and always :))
She stood up, wiping her tears away, silently humming My Answer.
She sneaked into Jaemin's room and placed the note on top of his desk, hoping that he'll see it later.
She went back to her room, skipping dinner, and decided to sleep.
The NCT members, on the other hand, were at the dining room, talking about things. Haechan and Mark were preparing dinner.
"Jaemin-ah, why are your eyes red and puffy?" Renjun asked.
Jaemin looked at him sternly, "Yah, Injoon-ah, why did you have to ask that loudly?"
The guys' attention was on him. "Wait, you talked to my sister right? Where is she? And what happened?" Mark asked, while munching his chicken.
Jaemin gulped, "U-Uhm... we're kind of—"
"Fighting." Jisung finished. "Wow, hyung. You two actually fought?" He continued, not believing what he heard.
Well, it's true. They don't usually fight. Key word is usually. Well, you can't have a couple (who truly loves each other, for that matter) who don't fight. In their case, both of them have been busy with their schedules— except for Haejin who recently woke up from coma.
"Yes— I mean no! We are not fighting." He clarified. "More of like, uh, misunderstanding." He continued.
Mark shrugged, "Better make sure that she won't wake up disappointed, okay? That won't be a good sight to see, I guarantee." He paused, suddenly gasping when he realized something, "Wait, woah, that rhymed!"
The rest of the members responded by shaking their heads.
The next morning, Jaemin woke up the earliest. He looked at his phone, only to see that the time is still 5:30. He usually wakes up at 6 or 7.
It was a hard time for him, flipping himself on the bed, trying to get more sleep, because damn, it's 5 in the morning and he's already awake.
He decided to stand up, did jumping jacks and heck, he even ran around inside his room just to tire himself up— but no to avail, he was already wide awake.
He plopped himself lazily onto the blue bean bag in his room, thinking if Haejin already forgave him.
He stood up, picking his phone up from his desk. He saw a note— in which he didn't see earlier— or more like, he didn't noticed, because he was too busy tiring himself.
It was a note with Haejin's handwriting.
...그리고 항상
He smiled. He was right, even before he thought of Haejin seconds ago. He's forgiven.
He opened his messages and texted Haejin, even if they're only walls apart.
To: 해진이❣️ (haejin-ie)
Good morning! You up already?
The moment she replied, he knew that she is.
From: 해진이❣️
Because you texted me? Yes.
He chuckled, it's impossible that he was the one who woke her up. Her phone's always on silent, it's impossible that she could have heard her phone rang.
He decided to go to her room, which was literally across his. He slowly turned the knob, and to his surprise, he saw Haejin (who was also surprised to see him) about to leave her room.
"Where are you going?" Jaemin asked, still holding the door knob. "I was about to go to your room, I'm literally dying of boredom ever since I woke up." She chuckled, beckoning Jaemin to go inside.
He lied down on Haejin's bed, grabbing the ice bear plushie in which she always hugs. "What in the world are you doing there, hugging my bear?" She asked, suddenly gasping. "Oh my gosh it rhymed!" She laughed.
He also laughed, "You and Mark-hyung are indeed siblings." She raised a brow, "What? Why?" She asked. He took a deep breath, "Last night when we were about to eat, he told me something and then when he realized that what he said rhymed, he started laughing."
"He's always like that, though?" Haejin said, with a tone of a question.
"Mhm~" Jaemin singsongs. Noticing that she has been standing at the door for minutes, he gestured her to come over, "Are you literally just gonna stand there until the sun rises?" He asked.
"Then what am I supposed to do?" She asked.
Jaemin shrugged, "Could you please lie here with me, even for a bit? I really missed you." He said, with aegyo— an aegyo in which she, or any nctzen for that matter, could not resist.
"You idiot," She joked, as she lied on the bed with him, wrapping her arms around his waist. "You just saw me last night." She chuckled.
"I know, I know, but you were mad at me. But now, I know that I'm forgiven. I'm sorry, Haejin-ah... it won't happen again! I promise you that!" He said, hugging her tighter.
"Oh yeah, it better not." She said, snuggling her face onto his chest.
Hours later, Mark ordered Chenle to wake everyone up, since it's time for breakfast. He went to Renjun's room, since he's the only member asleep by now— well except for Haejin and Jaemin, who were inside Haejin's room, hugging each other like they wouldn't see each other for a long time, but of course, nobody knows that. Especially not Chenle.
"Hyung, Jaemin-hyung is not in his room." Chenle said, the moment he got back.
Mark shrugged, "Maybe he went out for a jog. What about Haejin? Did you wake her up?"
"Oh right." Chenle snapped his fingers and went back to go to Haejin's room.
He slowly turned the knob and mouthed an 'o' when he saw Haejin and Jaemin cuddling. Jaemin was pillowing Haejin's head, his other hand on her waist. While Haejin's hand is hugging him back.
He closed the door. Not bothering to wake his hyung and bestfriend up. He smiled, finally, they're okay now. No more crying for Jaemin-hyung anymore.
Those five months without Haejin was unbearable. There were times in which Jaemin would just hold her hand and cry. He doesn't want to see his beloved hyung wrecked like that again.
"Hyung," Chenle started the moment he got back to the dining area. "Hm? Wait, where is she?" He asked.
"I found Jaemin-hyung. In Haejin's room. They were both cuddling, and I don't want to ruin the moment."
