Chapter 6

Lee Haejin surprises fans by appearing on a livestream on her birthday!

Yesterday, May 13, fans celebrated her birthday despite her being on hiatus. Members Yui, Eunji, Soeun, Xiurong, and Junghee went on live to cheer their fans up, saying that Haejin will be back soon.

Without the fans' knowledge, Haejin was standing behind the camera! She made her entrance when the members acted that they were shocked to see her.

Haejin Lee is rumored to return this year.

What can you say about Girls' Avenue's missing member's return?

"Haejin-ah, I thought you didn't want to tell them yet?" Jeno asked.

She shrugged, "I can't stand them worrying about me. I miss them already." She smiled.

"Does Jaemin know about this?"

Silence.

She slowly turned her head towards Jeno, "He will know."

Haejin spent the rest of the day at SM. She was watching EXO rehearse for their special stage.

"Haejin-ah, I saw your live on the internet yesterday." Jongdae sat beside her.

"Live? What live?" Kyungsoo sat on her other side.

"When she finally announced that she's already awake." Jongdae answered.

"Jinjja? Really? I thought you don't want them to know yet?" Junmyeon interrupts.

She shrugged, "Well, I really missed our G-Angels, oppas. My brother told me that they have been waiting for me for months and I don't want to prolong their agony just how long I waited for—" She immediately stopped talking when she realized that she has been talking  nonstop and she was about to blurt out everything.

"Waited for what?" Chanyeol smirked.

Baekhyun stood in front of her, "Yeah, waited for what, Haejin? Or to be more specific, waited for whom?"

Aish, these two! Why am I even friends with them in the first place?! Most importantly, why do I consider them as my parents?!

"Wait, I got lost, what?" Junmyeon said, confused.

Haejin sighed, "Okay, fine. I don't want G-Angels to feel how I felt when he went on hiatus, okay?"

"Who exactly?" Jongin asked.

"Jaemin." Kyungsoo, Minseok, and Junmyeon answered in chorus.

"Ohhhhh" the other members said when they realized what she's talking about.

Yixing entered the room, "We have a meeting." He said.

"Who? Us EXO?" Junmyeon asked.

Yixing shook his head, "No. All of us SM Artists."

Haejin stood up, "Wait, what? This must be urgent. Wait—" Her phone rang.

"Hello, Eunji-unnie?"

"Come here. Emergency meeting."

"I know, I know."

She ended the call and bid goodbye to her EXO-oppas. She rushed towards their practice room and waited for her co-members.

They went at the meeting area and they saw all of SM's Artists. The president is at the middle. Behind him was eight faces she has never seen before.

"Who are they?" Junghee asked.

But Haejin's attention was on someone else. She was looking (or more likely glaring) at two specific persons who were talking (using Haejin's dictionary, flirting) to each other.

The two were close—too close to Haejin's liking.

Things be damned, yes it was her boyfriend. None other than Na Jaemin. He was talking to one of the girls behind the president.

Mark, who was standing beside Jaemin, saw his sister who was looking at their direction. He understood why she looked so pissed, but sad at the same time.

"Everyone, I called you all today to introduce SM's new group of trainees." The eight stepped in front, including the girl who was talking to Jaemin earlier.

There were four boys, and four girls.

"Welcome, New Melody." After that, a round of applause was given to them.

They were smiling widely, but there was a smile that Haejin didn't like, the smile of the girl from earlier.

"Annyeonghaseyo, New Melody imnida!" They greeted.

"The group will debut October this year." The president announces.

"Hello, I'm the boys' leader! I'm the sky, Song Haneul!" (Note: Haneul in Korean, means sky.) The boy, with the brown hair, who was wearing specs, said.

He looks cute, to be very honest. But yeah, not my type.

"Hello sunbaenims! Song Hayoung immida! Yes, this guy right here is my brother. He is months older than me. I'm hoping to have a good time with you all!" She smiled.

She has a good voice, I think she''s one of the vocalists? She's also beautiful, I'm jealous. *pouts*

"Hello everyone, I'm the girls' leader, Jung Sohyun! Nice to meet you all!" The girl from earlier bowed. Once she stepped backwards, she high-fived with Jaemin which made Haejin frown even more.

She's the leader? She doesn't act like one though— oops, sorry. Not sorry.

Haejin looked peaceful outside, but in her mind, she's already planning ways to murder that Sohyun girl.

Jaemin's eyes landed on Haejin, who was pouting, and he thought that she looked extremely cute right now. She was standing beside Junghee, and she looked like a child clinging onto her dongsaeng.

The introduction continued.

"Hello, I'm Jang Minhyun! Nice to meet you all!"

"Hi everyone! Na Sowon imnida!" Jaemin's head perked up upon hearing the name.

He has been standing beside Sohyun, who was in the newly introduced group all the time and he didn't even noticed his own cousin.

"Before I forget, NCT's Jaemin is my cousin." The girl in front then smirked at Jaemin.

All of their attention was on Jaemin. Especially Haejin's. How come noona never told me that she'll audition?! How did she even get here?!

Haejin and Jaemin's eyes locked with each other for a second. As if she's asking him, "How come you never told me?" He just shrugged.

"Hello, I'm Park Chasung!"

"Annyeonghaseyo Choi Herin imnida!"

"Hello sunbaenims! I'm the maknae, Kim Jaesung!"

The president discussed about New Melody's strategy. They're the first group from SM who both have girl and boy members. Once the meeting was done, the artists started to leave one by one.

Haejin, with Girls' Avenue stayed for a while to let the others go out first. She looked down, playing with her fingers. She does this every time she's disappointed with something.

Mark left the room with the other members, and he didn't miss Haejin's look. He frowned, thinking about what could be the problem.

While Jaemin walked straight, not looking back, happily talking with his newly found friend Sohyun.

Haejin couldn't help but to look at them bitterly.
