Chapter 46

Stars were shining, and the two were still outside strolling.

Silence envelopes them as they quietly walk through the night. Fingers intertwined, Haejin sighed. This is life.

"Hey, let's lie down here!" She said, pointing a the ground.

Jaemin raised a brow, "On the ground? Are you sure?"

She nodded and lied down first. He just shook his head while chuckling, lying down beside her.

"Hey, does Jinhyung-hyung know that you're with me?" He asked.

Haejin just nodded.

Silence.

"Love, I have a question." Haejin started.

"What is it?" Jamein asked.

She faced him, "Why did you announce our relationship even if we broke up that time?"

"I knew that you'll be mad at me. But what's life without risks?" He said, then he continued. "I wanted to let you know that you're worth the risk and you're definitely worth fighting for."

Haejin covered his face and Jaemin just laughed. "Aigoo~ Haejin-ah..."

"Yah, what's with you and sweet words today? You could have at least warned me!" She said.

Jaemin laughed.

"Haejin-ah..."

"Hmm?"

Jaemin sighed, "Now that we're together again, do you want to know the truth?"

Haejin took a deep breath before nodded, "I'm dying to know. Well, if it's okay with you."

Jaemin sighed, "First, about me and Sohyun. We are not dating. Like, no. I would never, oh my gosh." He said which made Haejin laugh a little.

"Then what's happening when I caught you two?" She asked.

"Haejin-ah, do you know 'Tell Me'?" Jaemin asked.

She raised a brow, "A song by Infinite-sunbaenim?" She asked. (a/n: sorry, my inspirit ass is attacking me once again.)

Jaemin rolled his eyes, "Seriously, love? You really had to say that?" He said, chuckling.

"Oh come on, don't pretend as if you didn't miss me." She backfires.

"Point taken, though. Well anyways, back to what I was saying, do you know 'Tell Me'?" He asked once again.

She shook her head, "No."

"So that explains it." Jaemin said, nodding once he got that Haejin didn't know that Sohyun had a film.

"It's Sohyun's film. When you caught us, I was helping her memorize her lines because she was nervous." Jaemin explains. "And in that scene, that scene is where she was supposed to confess to the male character that she likes him." He continued.

Haejin froze. She should have listened before.

"Second, still about me and Sohyun." Jaemin sighed. "Do you know why I keep on saying that she's just a friend? Well, she really is just a friend. Well, she's basically my sister." He said.

She was confused, "Eh? What are you saying?"

"Sohyun used to be a part of SM Rookies before. She was also supposed to debut with Girls' Avenue. She left the entertainment for a survival show, before she was announced to be a part of SM Rookies." Jaemin explained.

Haejin sat up, "You say what?! So Sohyun is supposed to be a group member?! Wait, my mind is not functioning because of the too much information." She said, rubbing her temples.

Jaemin laughed as he sat up, "After the reality show, she came back and joined New Melody because Girls' Avenue already debuted." He explains. "That explains why I was close to them when they were announced. Plus, Sowon-noona is my cousin. Another reason to be close to them." He said.

Haejin sighed, "I'm sorry for not believing you.." She looked down.

He held her hand, "Hey, it's fine, don't worry about it anymore."

"Why didn't you tell me all of these sooner?" Haejin asked.

"We weren't supposed to tell anybody." Jaemin shrugged.

"Is that all?" She asked.

Jaemin shook his head, "No, love. That's just a few."

"Wait what?"

He sighed, "Remember that time when you and Mark-hyung fought at the retreat?"

"When I said that he wasn't himself?" Haejin asked and he nodded. "Yeah, what about that?"

"It's also because of Jung Sohyun." He said.

"What?" She asked. "I'm so confused, why is it all about her?" She asked, scratching her head.

"Wait, are you that dense not to notice, love?" Jaemin asked, half surprised, half laughing.

Haejin looked at her sternly, "Yah, are you calling me stupid?!"

Jaemin immediately shook his head, "Of course not!" He said, and Haejin nodded.

"So, what I'm saying is... Do you know the reason why Mark-hyung has trust issues? Do you know why he gets uneasy and irritated everytime he sees Sohyun?" Jaemin asked.

Haejin shook her head.

"It's because of the past."

"What past?"

"Mark-hyung and Sohyun used to date."

"WHAT?!" Haejin stood up, looking at him.

Jaemin sighed and pulled her down, "Yah, calm down."

"Wait, so you're telling me that Sohyun and my brother used to date?! For real?!" She asked.

Jaemin nodded, "Believe it or not, they did." He sighed. "The reason why Mark-hyung has trust issues is because of Sohyun. She didn't tell him that se was leaving the company for a reality show. Mark-hyung only knew when he already saw her on television."

"Wait, so they never really had a proper closure?" She asked.

"Well, they did at one point. You see, Mark-hyung already moved on. Well, at least, I think." He said, then he continued, "As for Sohyun, she keeps on blaming herself for what happened."

"Does Sohyun still love Mark?" Haejin asked.

Jaemin slowly nodded, "Heck yes."

"We can still help them, right?" Haejin asked.

He shook his head, "We tried. But Mark-hyung said he's tired. He said he'll just work and take care of his sister." He said. "I think they're okay, though. I once saw him texting her. Then he's smiling for no damn reason."

"They're friends again?" She asked, he nodded.

"They kind of officially broke up during the retreat. That time when you two fought." He said.

"How come I never noticed them?"

"Because they're not dating anymore. And they're basically like us, they don't want to be talked about." He explains. "Sowon-noona told me that they fought at the hospital when they rushed you during the retreat."

Haejin snappped her fingers, as if she was disappointed, "That would be a great fight though. Darn it."

"Yah!" Jaemin chased her when she suddenly ran.

She laughed— a real laugh this time. "Catch me if you can, Jaemin-ah!" She yelled.

Jaemin laughed and caught her in his arms, "I think I already did."

She chuckled as she hugged back, "And I won't run away from you again."
