Chapter 39

Chapter 39

"I'll be back, okay? I'll just attend the awarding ceremony." Mark said, kissing the top of Haejin's head. "You'll also be discharged later." He smiled at her.

Haejin smiled back and replied a soft, "Alright."

Mark sighed, "You'll be fine, right?" He asked.

She slowly nodded, "Of course I will be. Jaemin is with me." She smiled.

"Alright, fine."

Mark left the room and Haejin sighed as she looked at the IV drain on her side. The nurse entered and she warmly smiled at her.

"Haejin-ssi, I hope this will be the last time you'll be confined here." She said, carefully removing her dextrose.

She slightly winced, though this wasn't her first time being admitted in the hospital, the needle still stung.

After a few moments, she smiled back at the nurse, "I hope so too, unnie." She said, laughing.

The nurse smiled and ruffled her hair, "I'm a G-Angel, but I swear, this won't leak to the media." She gave her a reassuring smile.

Haejin smiled even more, "Thank you so much."

The nurse left and Jaemin entered the room. He smiled at her and she slowly raised her hand to make a wave gesture.

"Oh, you can move your hand now." Jaemin said.

"Yep, the nurse just removed it." Haejin said, showing the back of her hand which has a band aid.

Jaemin sighed and sat on the stool beside her bed.

"Mark said that I'll be discharged today. But I don't know what time." She said, sighing.

"He told me that you'll be discharged in the afternoon." He said.

"Afternoon? But it's nowhere around noon!" She said, lying back again.

"Yah, we just need to wait, okay? Plus, the awarding will start anytime soon."

"I'm finally freeeeeeeee!!!!!" Haejin immediately ran when she was allowed to leave the hospital.

Jaemin and Mark just trailed behind her, shaking their heads, pretending that a ertain Lee Haejin does not exist.

"Haejin-ah, stop. You're embarrassing us." Mark said. "Plus, it was just a day." He continued.

Haejin glared at him, "Still. The atmosphere is suffocating and I can't believe I'm outside again!!" She said, skipping happily.

"Hyung, is that the side effect of being in the hospital many times?" Jaemin asked.

Haejin looked at him sternly, "I can hear you!! I'm starting to rethink our relationship just now!" She said, turning her back.

"Y-Yah!" Jaemin followed her worriedly, thinking that what she said might be true. Even if it was a joke, he's still scared.

Mark shook his head, Have they forgotten that we're OUTSIDE not wearing ANY DISGUISES. If by chance a paparazzi sees them being close like that, heck they would be dead!

His phone vibrated and he was surprised to see a message from a certain someone who hasn't messaged him in so long. His lips immediately curved upwards, forming a smile.

He noticed that the two were already far from his sight. He kept his phone and followed them. "Yah, wait up!"

"Jinjja? Our team won first place?! Woah, amazing!!" Haejin's eyes were twining when Mark told her the rankings of the teams in the retreat.

Mark nodded, amused by his sister's sudden childish actions. "Yep! And nit only that~" He excitedly say. "You were also one of the best players in your team!" He said.

"EHH?! I BARELY DID A THING HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!"

Jaemin laughed upon hearing his girlfriend's response. Barely did a thing?! You basically swept everyone in archery, beat Haechan in a random dance challenge, and had the guts to fight Chenle in the high note battle. Yeah, you barely did a thing, Haejin-ah.

He shook his head as he swung his arm on Haejin's shoulder and ruffled her hair, "Congrats, Love! You worked reaaaaaallly hard!" He said, ruffling her hair even more which made her groan in annoyance.

"Yah, why my hair!!" She laughed and basically hugged Jaemin back since they were practically hugging. Yes, they're outside but do these two look like they give a single crap? "Thank you, though." She smiled.

"Congrats to your team too, Jaemin-ah." Mark said. "Your team was second." He said.

"Ah, thank you, hyung." He smiled.

"Yah, there are people here, let go." Haejin said, finally realizing that they were outside.

"I'm here guys, don't worry. I can defend you if they'll come at you." Mark said, sighing.

"Wieeeeee!! Thank you Mark-oppa!" Haejin said, jumping on his brother's back.

Luckily, Mark caught her or else she would have fell. "Yah! Where did you learn to do this?! You could have injured yourself!!" Mark scolded her which made her laugh.

"Eyyyy, don't be mad at me!!" She whined which made the people passing by to look at them.

And Mark swears that he would never go out with Haejin and Jaemin again. Things be damned, they look like three idiots!

Mark sighed, trying to gain his composure. "I'm not mad."

"I know because you love me veeeeery much!!!" Haejin said.

Mark sighed, what the hell happened to his sister? Why is she acting like a child? A 20 year old child.

"Get off already, you're too heavy!" Mark said, grunting as he tries to carry her.

Haejin pouted, "You're no fun!" She said and ran once again.

"Hyung, what happened to her?" Jaemin laughed as they watch her run around.

****

"Haejin-unnie!!!" The members rushed towards her the moment she arrived at their dorm.

"Unnie, are you alright now?" Junghee asked, her face full of worry.

Haejin smiled at her, "I'm fine, don't worry!"

She sighed and smiled at them, "I have to go and rest now, I'm really tired."

"The things you left at the hotel room are already in your room." Soeun said.

"Yeah, she's tired." They all looked at the door when they heard someone talk.

"Yah, why are you still here?" Haejin asked when she saw her brother still there. "Get lost already." She scratched her head.

Mark raised his hands as a sign if defeat, "Was it MY fault that you ran around the park? Jumped on my back thinking that you weigh like a feather? Gosh, Haejin-ah, was it MY fault? You made us tired too!" He backfires.

Haejin rolled her eyes, "I have no time for complaints, dad. Get lost!" She said running to her room.

Mark scoffed, "Look at this girl, forgetting that I am her brother. BROTHER. Not personal assistant!" He sighed.

The girls just watched in amusement as they watched the two's bickering.

Mark sighed, "Please take care of her, and I'll apologize now in her behalf if she does something stupid."

They laughed, "We're used to it, oppa."

"Arasseo, I have to go now. Good night to you guys." He bid them goodbye.
