Chapter 3

The moment Haejin closed the door, she screamed and jumped up and down like a little kid.

"What in the world is wrong with you? And what in the world happened?!" Mark said, irritated.

Haejin glared at him, "Can't you just be happy?" She said, plopping herself on her bed.

"Mind telling me what happened first? So that I could decide if I could be happy about it?" Mark said, putting his phone down.

"We're going outside!!!" She squealed.

Mark covered his ears, "Can you not scream? He's just next door!" He said, shushing Haejin.

Haejin covered her mouth and screamed.

"Instead of screaming, why won't you just prepare so that you could be ready already? I thought you'll go out on a date?" Mark said, smirking.

"Oh right... you already know that it's a date." She said, standing up and rushin towards the bathroom.

Mark chuckled. His sister didn't change a bit.

"Why are we here?" Haejin asked.

They're in Lotte World once again.

"Remember this place?" He smiled at her.

"Oh yeah I do..." it's where we met after months, and where we had our first date. We were just here yesterday!! "We were just here yesterday."

Jaemin laughed, "I know, I know... but I didn't get the chance to ride some attractions. I was alone, remember? But now you're here! And you can't day no." Jaemin dragged her towards the roller coaster.

"Oh no not here Jaemin-ah–"

"I told you, you can't say no!!" He held her hand tighter as they line up for the ride.

"The next time.... can we go somewhere else?" Haejin said while coughing. They just got off the ride and he was laughing like there's no tomorrow.

Actually, Mark suggested Lotte World. He just thinks that they had a lot of memories together in that place. And that it's Haejin's favorite place.

"Mark-hyung told me to go here with you," Jaemin laughed.

Haejin looked at him, "Mark-oppa? What does this had to do with my brother?"

Jaemin shrugged, "He suggested this place. He said that this is your favorite place."

Ah, Mark.. seriously..

Haejin smiled secretly. Her brother knows her very well.

It's already 11 in the evening and they were still at Namsan Tower. Just the two of them.

"You know, back then... I was just fantasizing about this place.. I was just imagining that one day, I'll be walking here with my loved one. Guess it really happened." Haejin chuckled.

Jaemin looked at her and smiled, "Taeyong-hyung told me that you guys went here when I was on hiatus. He noticed that you were sad back then. Why?"

Haejin looked at him, "Because you were not with us. I was blaming myself. If only I arrived earlier. I could have met you..."

Jaemin smiled at her, "Now... how do you feel?"

"Of course I'm happy. Because you're here... It's all I could wish for..." she smiled.

Loud noises were heard and the sky was filled with colors.

Haejin looked at the fireworks amusedly. It was like the first time she saw one after years.

"Haejin-ah.." Jaemin held her hand. She looked at him and asked, "Why?"

He was holding her hands, and she feels like she wanted to scream. She commends herself for not shouting and not fangirling.

"Happy 2 years." He smiled at her.

(clarification: it's still the month of May, Haejin recently woke up from coma. And yes, in this book, it's 2021. I fixed my timeline. I read MFAL 1 and yeah in this book, it's currently 2021. :) )

She smiled immediately, "I thought you already forgot." She said, trying to wipe her tears away.

"Yah, why are you crying?" Luckily, Jaemin was quick enough to wipe her tears first. He smiled at her, "How could I forget this day? The 2nd day of May. Two years ago, we were at the venue of the music show. You had your first win. I asked you if you wanted to stay with me, and you said yes."

Haejin was just listening to Jaemin, who was recalling their memories.

"We were in the dressing room, talking about things. When I asked you, and you said yes. Do you remember?" Jaemin asked. Haejin nodded.

Jaemin hugged her and kissed to top of her head, "Happy 2 years. I love you."

May 13

NCT Dream members are silently preparing at the dining room and living room.

Jisung was helping Mark with the banner. Chenle, Renjun, and Jeno are filling the balloons with air. Jaemin and Haechan were cooking.

Someone knocked at the door and Jisung rushed to open it.

"Hyungs are here!" Jisung exclaimed.

Following behind him were NCT.

"Are we late or something?" Johnny asked Mark who was busy helping Chenle and Jeno pump the balloons.

Mark shook his head, "Nope. She ain't even awake yet."

Taeyong nodded, "Oh, where's the boyfriend? What is he doing?" He teased.

From the kitchen, Jaemin shouted, "Taeyong-hyung I can hear you perfectly!!! I'm here!"

Taeyong laughed, "Just gonna help him." He patted Mark's back as he rushed towards the kitchen.

"Hyung, where am I supposed to put their gifts?" Jisung asked.

"At the center table in the living room."

Jisung nodded once and placed the gifts on the table.

"Mark-hyung!"

Mark doesn't know where to look or go first. Mark-hyung this, Mark-hyung that. Mark-hyung, Mark-hyung, Mark-hyung.

He sighed, "Coming, Jisung-ah..."

He was tired, even if it was still early on the morning. They have been up since 5:30 am to prepare their birthday surprise for Haejin.

"Here, distribute the party hats to everyone, Jisung-ah. Tell me if you're done. I'll just go check on Chenle, Renjun and Jeno." Mark said, rushing over the table to see the said members' progresses.

"Hyung, we're done!" Renjun said, waving the last balloon in front of Mark's face.

Mark sighed with relief, "Okay, keep the pumps and clean the area okay?" He said. The members complied.

"Mark-hyung, I'm done with the party hats." Jisung approached him.

Taeil patted Mark's back, "Woah, it seems like you're the one who's under control here." He said, not believing what he sees.

Mark laughed, "I'm even glad they're listening to me."

Yuta ruffled his hair, "What a surprise we got here." He chuckled.

Mark smiled, "Anything for my sister, hyung."
