Chapter 26

"Now, you didn't tell me that you could play archery." Wendy said, sitting beside Haejin.

Haejin laughed, "I didn't tell anyone. Mark knows it, but he also didn't tell you guys because I stopped." She said.

Wendy nodded, "Will you be joining our team's archery team?"

Haejin shook her head, "No."

"But why? We all saw how you played. You could be the ace of our team." Wendy said.

"I... I just don't play anymore, unnie. Because of asthma, and bradycardia." She said.

"Wait, brady what now?" Wendy asked.

Haejin chuckled, "It's my disease. Bradycardia. Basically, it's not a disease. It's just a problem with the rhythm of my heart. Because it beats slower than usual."

"Oh, then another reason for you to join the archery team. Adrenaline rush!" Wendy said.

"I don't know... I'll think about it for a second."

"Alright, alright."

Wendy bid goodbye and lined up with the rest of the group. Group A continued to play despite being a 12-member group.

"We need five players for the team." Leeteuk announced.

"Chanyeol, Chenle, Haneul, Taeyong and?" Leeteuk asked.

The members who were announced were the only ones who could do well in an instant. Fast learners, in other words.

"Haejin Lee!" Wendy exclaimed.

"Oh, Haejin-ah!" Ten followed the chant.

"Haejin Lee! Haejin Lee!" Their group members chanted.

Haejin shook her head.

"Haejin-ah please? We all know you could do this. Please? Our team will be disqualified if we lack a member in the archery team." Leeteuk said.

Haejin looked for Mark in the distance. He was also looking at her, and mouthing "Join them."

She looked at Jaemin and he was smiling at her.

I guess this is it?

She sighed, "Alright, I'm in."

They all cheered.

The five lined up and they were trained on how to put their gears on properly.

Heol, I can even play without any gears on.

Haejin feels like she's back at the beginning, being lectured with the basic thins about archery.

The thing is, she already knows the basic— basically everything.

She looked at the players of the other teams.

Group B's players are Max, Heechul, Renjun, Victoria and Joy.

Group C's players are Taeyeon, Krystal, Mark, Johnny and Sohyun.

Group D's players are Yunho, Suho, Luna, Doyoung and Jeno.

Group E's players are Amber, Baekhyun, Irene, Winwin and Jaemin.

Group F's players are Eunhyuk, Sunny, Lay, Jaehyun and Jisung.

A part of her wants to leave, because she would be competing with her boyfriend. But a part of her wants to stay, because she'd be battling with Jung Sohyun.

The teams' order to play is F, C, D, B, E, A.

Haejin's team would be the last.

"Love, good luck!" She told Jaemin once they were lined up.

"Thank you, good luck too!" He smiled at her.

Each player for each team would be shooting three arrows, one at a time. There would be six targets, one for each team. The team who will have the most number of arrows at the center, or if not at the center, the closest, wins.

"Yah, you would be battling with Jaemin-hyung." Chenle told her.

Haejin sighed, "I know, and I won't go easy on their team just because he's my boyfriend, and Baekhyun-oppa is their leader." She smirked.

"Wait woah, and you were shaking your head when Teuk-hyung asked you earlier."

"Well, look on the bright side, Chenle. I would be battling against Jung Sohyun." She said, full of determination.

"Oh, so that's why..." Chenle nodded.

Group F was finished and there were  four arrows near the center, two of which were shots by Jisung. One of which was by Eunhyuk. One from Sunny. There was also an arrow at the center, from, yours truly, Park Jisung.

Mark was the fourth one to play. And of course, being Haejin's older brother, he has learned some skills from her. He closed an eye and aimed at the center. First arrow, far. Second arrow, near the center. Final arrow, bull's eye.

His team mates cheered and jumped. They never expected Mark to be that.

Finally, it was Jung Sohyun's turn.

Haejin looked at her posture, and the way on how she held the archer. She shook her head, this girl can't even hold it propely. Why did she even join the archery team? Tsk, Mark, choose your players properly!

First arrow, miss.

Second arrow, miss.

Third arrow, miss.

WHAT THE HECK SHE AIMED FOR THE FREAKING EDGE?! GIRL, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO AIM AT THE CENTER. CENTER!

She sighed and sat down for a while. Chenle sat beside her, "You seem pissed."

"Not really, I just wanna get on the game."

Finally, it was Jaemin's turn. The final player of Group E.

"Go, love.." she whispered.

First arrow, missed.

Second, bull's eye.

Third, bull's eye.

Haejin and Chenle jumped in surprised when Jaemin hit the center twice! "YES, GO JAEMIN-HYUNG!!!"

"LET'S GO JAEMIN-A—OPPA!" She almost called him informally, causing her to laugh.

Jaemin ran towards them and hugged her, "Yah!!! Did you see that?! I hit the center!!! Haejin-ah, bull's eye!! BULL'S EYE!!" He said excitingly, causing her to carry Haejin and spin her around.

"Yes I did!!! Now would you please put me down? I'm kinda getting dizzy." Haejin said, smacking Jaemin's shoulders.

"Oops, I'm sorry!" He laughed.

It was finally Haejin's turn.

Leeteuk handed her the gears that were supposed to be placed on her arm. She shook her head, "I won't be needing those, oppa." She smiled.

Leeteuk nonetheless nodded hesitantly.

Haejin stood 5 meters away from the target.

She closed one eye and started to aim.

First arrow, bull's eye.

Second arrow, bull's eye.

Final arrow, bull's eye.

Her groupmates cheered in happiness. Leeteuk and Chanyeol lifted her up, as if she was a hero of some sort.

Their team got 11 points.

7 arrows were at the center. 3 arrows were by Haejin, 2 by Chenle and Haneul.

4 arrows were near the center. 2 by Taeyong, and 2 by Chanyeol.

"Haejin-ah, jjang!" Jaemin shouted.

Their team was the only team who  got tree straight bull's eyes.

"I knew you could do it." Wendy told her.

"Well, is it my fault that I could still play this game?" Haejin laughed.
