Chapter 19

"Are you two dating?"

Haejin gulped. What the hell is happening? Why is Doyoung-oppa being like this?! Does he really want me to die?

The thing is, they're live. No retakes could be taken.

Haejin looked down, she was looking at her shaking knees. Her palms were sweating, and she really wanted to cry, scream and get out of there.

Jaemin chuckled and shook his head, "I wish we were, but we are not." He said.

Haejin's head perked up, amazed by Jaemin's save. Her heart was still beating so fast. Although they could have said that they were dating, because they really were, she still doesn't want to tell the world.

Well, you couldn't blame her. She was just being careful.

Doyoung nodded and looked at Haejin and noticed her obvious discomfort. He coughed, "Back with the questions..."

Doyoung and Sunny asked the questions given by fans. Jaemin can't help but to worry for Haejin who became silent after Doyoung's straight-to-the-point question.

"It says here, "Many people have been shipping Haejin and Jaemin ever since Girls' Avenue's debut. The time when a sasaeng posted a picture of Haejin talking to a guy who looked like Jaemin. After this incident, fans were wishing that you two would date. How would Haejin and Jaemin react to this?" Who would like to answer?" Sunny asked.

Jaemin raised his hand, "We confirmed that it was Haejin, who was in the photo, but it wasn't me. It was not really me." Jaemin started.

It was you. You even hugged me. Haejin thought.

"If you guys are really eager to know who that person is, it was Mark-hyung. It was Girls' Avenue's debut stage, and we and the hyungs and dongsaengs went to their first broadcast and watched them live as supportive sunbaes. Afterwards, we went to the backstage to congratulate them, and we left Mark-hyung with his sister. You all know that Mark-hyung is Haejin's older brother, right?" A silent pause after that.

She secretly held Jaemin's hand underneath the table to show that she's thankful for saving her. Jaemin held her hand tighter.

"Well, about the 'dating' thing, Haejin and I knows that most of our fans are shipping the two of us," Jaemin said and Haejin nodded.

"Mark-oppa once said that we look good together, why don't we just date?" Haejin said which made Doyoung and Sunny laugh.

Haejin was the one who continued Jaemin's answer, "We were never really awkward with each other." Lie. "Even when the fans started shipping us." Another lie. I didn't even know that the fans shipped us. "Because aside from Mark-oppa, Jaemin-oppa is my closest friend in NCT, aside from Jisung and Chenle." Truth.

"Second to the last question before we end tonight's !t live, the question is for the both of you," Doyoung started. "Jaemin the member in NCT who is known to have a lot of aegyo. How can Haejin resist his aegyos? As for Jaemin, Haejin is the member in Girls' Avenue who is known for her silent and cold aura. How did Jaemin first approached her?"

His aegyo is indeed irresistable, but if i'm pissed and he does aegyo, I would just smack him in the head and say "I love you."

"Haejin would usually cringe." Jaemin said, laughing. Lie, I always call him cute. Oh wait, no, true. I cringe most of the time. Haejin wanted to say but she just nodded anyways. "But sometimes, if I wanted her to get something for me, I would do aegyo and she would get it immediately." Lie. When did he ever— Oh wait, yes, true. Wait, was that even an aegyo? He literally just clung to me and said, "Yah, let's go out" how was that an aegyo?

"Jaemin-oppa himself is quiet. So imagine how two quiet people would interact." True. I even pretended that I was texting Yui but my phone was upside down. Crap, why did I remember that? "But as time goes by, we grew to know each other and became really close." Lie. I ignored him for months and then he hugged me and then he said, "I don't hate you, but it doesn't mean I like you too."

"Last question for tonight's !t live." Sunny started, reading the comment. "Could Jaemin and Haejin date?"

Haejin froze. She was shaking once again. They really want me to die on the spot.

She wanted to cry and run out of here. Why are they being asked such questions. Sunny gave her an apologizing look, Haejin-ah, mianhae...

Jaemin just sighed, noticing his girlfriend's discomfort, "I guess what happens will happen. Let's just wait and see." He said and smiled. Another clue for the fans.

The live ended and the moment the cameras went off, Haejin cried. Jaemin immediately stood up and hugged her, "Shhhh... don't cry, don't cry.. I'm here."

Haejin hugged him back and sobbed harder. The directors and producers were shocked because of what happened. Why did Haejin broke down?

Sunny and Doyoung were just looking at the two, eyes full of worry.

"Hey, love shh... don't cry, don't cry.." He cupped her face. "Why, why? Tell me what's wrong.." He said calmly.

Haejin breathed in, "I-I... I have been w-wanting to cry... I-I was sc-scared..." She cried even harder.

"Hey calm down, please? You're making me worry..." He said, looking back and forth to find Mark.

Mark went with them, even though he wasn't going to be in the live. He knew that things like this might happen. And it did.

Someone poked him on the shoulder, it was Mark. "Hyung!"

"Here," Mark handed him a bottled water. "I went outside for a while to get water from the vending machine. I knew the look on her face. She almost cried earlier." Mark said, looking at his sister who was holding onto Jaemin for dear life.

"Here, drink first... Then tell me everything.." Jaemin said. Haejin slowly nodded, and reached for the bottle, even if her hands were shaking.

"Haejin-ah, we're very sorry.." Sumny hugged her. "We were just asked to ask you those questions, and I didn't know that there were questions like that.." Sunny said, rubbing her back.

Haejin hugged her back, "U-Unnie, it's fine..."

"Haejin-ah, mian... we didn't mean to.." Doyoung apologized.

"Oppa, I'm o-okay..." Haejin said, still sobbing.

Jaemin returned to her side and she hugged him once again, "Hey... calm down now.. no need to be scared... at least, we were able to pull it off, right?" Jaemin kneeled so that he could be in eye level with Haejin. He then gave her a reassuring smile.

Haejin nodded and hugged him again. Jaemin chuckled, "Stop crying now... if by chance we accidentally told them.. don't worry, they're supporting us.." He said, patting Haejin's head.

"But I-I... I'm not—"

"Then let's wait for the time when you're already ready to tell them, okay? We don't have to rush, love." Jaemin said.

Haejin nodded, "I love you.."

"I love you too.."
