Chapter 13

"Merry Christmas!!"

18 people were gathered inside then room, cheering and celebrating. Some were in front of the laptop screen, talking to someone.

"Johnny-hyung! It ain't Christmas there yet!" Mark said, laughing. Johnny went to Chicago to visit his parents.

"Yah! Don't expect anything from me!" Johnny said, laughing from the other line.

Haejin was just staring at the other members. She stayed with NCT, since the Girls' Avenue members went home for vacation.

Jisung was dancing songs of their sunbaes with Haechan, Jeno, and Chenle.

Mark, Taeyong, Kun, Taeil, Winwin, and Jaehyun were talking to Johnny.

Renjun, Yuta, Doyoung, and Ten were serving food.

Jungwoo and Lucas were already eating.

While Jaemin was just looking at the members— a sight he sees every single day, well, except for the part in which they're calling Johnny through Skype because he's in Chicago.

"You seem silent." He said, sitting beside Haejin.

Haejin shrugged, "I'm usually silent. What are you talking about?" She chuckled.

Just then, "Switch" played. "Yah, everyone!!! Let's dance!" Jisung called out his hyungs.

Taeyong turned the laptop around so that Johnny could still see them.

"I wish I could join you guys in dancing." Haejin said, chuckling.

"Then join us!" Mark said.

"Haejin-ah, don't act like you don't know the choreography! You used to dance that everyday when you were still a rookie!" Johnny said from the other line.

Haejin just shook her head.

"Suit yourself!" Mark shrugged as he danced to the song.

She smiled. She really wanted to join them, but she couldn't. She was tired of rehearsing. Earlier this morning, they practiced non-stop. Lee Sooman even told her to rest, but she wouldn't listen.

It was already 1:17 am when they finished eating. They sat in a circle and played some games. Until they decided to give gifts.

There was an activity called "Secret Santa" in which they'll pick a member. The person has to give a gift to the person he/she has picked.

They all drew lots 2 weeks ago. And keeping their identity as the secret santa of one of the members is a hard thing to do.

Doyoung almost told Haechan that he was his secret santa.

While Jisung almost told Jaemin that his secret santa was Haejin. And he almost told Haejin that her secret santa was Jaemin.

Was fate playing tricks on them? Nobody knows.

"Taeil-hyung! Since you're the eldest, you go first!" Taeyong said, gesturing Taeil to go get his gift under the Christmas tree.

Taeil stood up and got the blue paper bag and gave it to Doyoung. "Woah, Taeil-hyung is my secret santa? I wonder what this is."

"Open it! Open it!" They all chanted.

Doyoung opened the paper bag and frowned when he saw what Taeil's gift was. It was a bunny that really looked like him. Ten grabbed the bunny and put it beside Doyoung's face. "It looks like you!" They all laughed.

Doyoung rolled his eyes, "Whatever! Jeno-yah, here's my gift!" He handed Jeno a box.

"Jaehyun-hyungie! Merry Christmas!" Jeno said, handing Jaehyun is gift.

"Taeyong-hyung!! Here's my gift!" Jaehyun smiled sheepishly as he handed Taeyong his gift.

"Jisung-ah, Merry Christmas!" Taeyong handed him his gift.

"Winwin-ie hyung~ Merry Christmas!!" Jisung said.

"Ah, xiexie~" Winwin said. He picked up his gift under the Christmas tree and went near Taeil. "Hyuuung~ Merry Christmas!" He smiled.

"Aigooo~ Winwinie.. Thank you!!" Taeil smiled.

The mini gift-giving ceremony went on. And the only ones who have not received their gifts yet are Haejin, Jaemin, Mark, and Haechan.

"Woah, three Lee's and a Na." Taeyong laughed. They all laughed when they got the joke.

"Okay, give the gifts at once." Taeyong instructed and they all nodded.

"One.... two... three..."

Haejin handed Jaemin her gift and Jaemin did the same to her. Haechan put his gift in front of Mark's face and Mark gave Haechan his gift.

"Woah, the Haejin and Jaemin picked each other?! Is this fate?" Jaehyun said, lauging.

The members arrived at their respective dorms at around 3:40 am. Haejin stays with NCT Dream since the members went on a vacation.

"Haejin-ah? Wake up, we're here already." Jaemin said, tapping Haejin's right cheek softly.

She wouldn't budge. She was hugging the bear Jaemin gave her tightly. Jaemin sighed, she's really tired.

"Can you carry her inside? I'll be the one to carry her things." Mark said.

"Sure, hyung." Jaemin answered as he puts his arm at the back of Haejin's neck, slowly lifting her up, bridal style.

It was his first time to carry Haejin like that, and he was really surprised when he found out that Haejin was light.

"Woah! Newly weds!" Renjun shouted when Jaemin entered the dorm with Haejin in his arms.

Mark immediately shushed him. Jaemin looked at thin sternly, "Injoon-ah, can you not?! If she wakes up, I'll kick you."

Renjun laughed, raising his arms as an act of retreat. "Kidding."

Jaemin opened the door of Haejin's room and slowly placed her on the bed.

He sat beside her and admired her sleeping form. She was still sleeping soundly, hugging the bear tightly.

He chuckled, he knew that she would like his gift very much.

He planted a soft kiss on Haejin's forehead, "Good night, Haejin-ah. Sleep well, hm? Merry Christmas. I love you.. forever." He smiled, stopping when his lips was near hers.

He backed away, whispering, "I'll kiss you there when the right time comes."

He looked at her one last time before leaving her room.
