Chapter 16

"Hurry up!!" Mark said.

They're currently at N Seoul Tower, admiring the view.

"Woah, daebak....." Haejin gasped.

"It's been a year since we went here, right? We were with Dream and Taeyong-hyung and Jaehyun-hyung." Mark said.

Haejin nodded.

For the past five months, it was a hide and seek situation for Haejin and Jaeminㅡor maybe just for Haejin.

Haejin and Jaemin's room are in front of each other. (Jisung and Chenle's room is beside Haejin's)

Everytime they open the door at the same time, Haejin would close her door first, leaving Jaemin with his thoughts.

There was this one time. It was Haechan's birthday. They were celebrating at NCT's practice room. Haejin was at the corner, Jaemin was at the other.

They're in the same room, but worlds apart.

Jaemin would steal a glance, Haejin will look down. It's always like this ever since the 'interview' happened.

Jaemin is still Jaeminㅡalways smiling, happy. Haejin? She did change a bit. She became more quiet.

The NCT Members doesn't want to admit it, but they are worried about Haejin. They thought about Mark's wordsㅡHaejin really is good at hiding her emotions.

The knew that she likes Jaemin.

The members would look at them every once in a while, but nothing's happening.

Girls' Avenue is worried too. They have no idea because according to them, Haejin is secretive.

There was also this time they went to Lotte World, it was Taeil's birthday. The two were seated next to each other, but they wouldn't just spare a single glance to each other. Well, except for Jaemin.

Jaemin's habit is to hold Haejin's hand secretly like before. He tried, but Haejin just snatched her hand back. Don't do this to me, Jaemin-oppa. Please... it hurts.

Back to reality, Haejin shut her eyes, trying to remove the memory from her head. It still hurts, even though they were never in a relationship. It feels like they broke up. They broke up from their imaginary relationship.

It was a relationship that only Haejin knew.

"Haejin-ah?"

Haejin looked at her brother.

"Yes?"

"Let's eat?"

"Okay.."

"Are you okay?" Mark asked.

Haejin looked at him, "I am... I'm always okay..."

They're currently in a restaurant near N Seoul Tower. It was only them inside. There were also a few people around.

"Haejin-ah, tell me the truth."

"I'm okay, I promise. Now that I know how he feels, I feel at ease, even though it hurts. But to be honest... I'm recovering," She faked a smile.

Don't smile like you're okay, Haejin-ah please? It hurts me as your brother...

"Don't smile like that.." Mark said.

"Whatㅡ"

"Do not pretend. Do not pretend like you're okay. I know you're not. Don't smile if you really can't. Why do you keep on doing that? It hurts me too, Haejin. Please stop pretending..." Mark pleaded.

Haejin sighed, "Oppa, I'm tired of crying.. do you think it's easy? Oppa, it's hard to move on.."

"Then don't."

Haejin looked a her brother.

"Then don't move on. Why are you moving on? It's not like you had a relationship anyway."

Mark was right. They were never in a relationship. So what's the point of moving on.

Their orders were served, and Mark started eating. Haejin was still thinking about what Mark had just said.

"Eat, we'll go to Myeong-dong later."

"You told me to eat and then we're at Myeong-dong to eat again?! You've got to be kidding me!" Haejin said.

They're at Myeongdong and Mark is currently paying for a snack he bought.

Mark didn't listen to his sister, he just keot on eating.

"Unbelievable." Haejin said.

"Shut up. I'll buy you an album later." Mark said.

Haejin's eyes widened, "Jinjja? Jinjja? You're not kidding right?" She said, clinging onto Mark's arm.

"Do you think I'm kidding?" He rolled his eyes.

They're inside a record bar at Myeongdong. Haejin is standing in front of a shelf full of albums of her idolsㅡEXO, NCT, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, and Red Velvet.

"Pick two, if you want."

Haejin looked at Mark, who popped out of nowhere.

"Jinjja?"

Mark nodded.

She got a Dream version of NCT 2018's Empathy and a Private version of The War, an album by EXO.

"Thank you so much, oppa! I love youuuuu."

"Anything for my dongsaeng."

"Woah, daebak!! You have our album?!" Jisung said.

Jisung and Chenle are currently inside Haejin's room. Mark and Haejin just arrived.

Haejin showed them their own album and nodded. She smiled.

Jisung and Chenle missed that smileㅡ a true one.

"Open it! I wonder whose photocard you got." Chenle said.

Jisung and Chenle looked at each other. They're happy that Haejin is happy. It's been a while since they saw Haejin smile like that. It's been a while since they saw Haejin that happy. It's been months.

"Chenle, can you please hand me the scissors?" Haejin said.

Chenle nodded.

They watched as Haejin carefully unsealed their EXO-sunbaenim's album.

Once she opened it, she looked for the pages which had the photocard.

"KYAAAAAAAA!!! I GOT BAEKHYUN, I GOT BAEKHYUN!!!!! I GOT BAEKHYUN!!!!!!!!!" She screamed.

"Chenle, I finally met someone who's louder than you." Jisung laughed.

Chenle just laughed.

Haejin was smiling. A real smile.

"Baekhyun-oppa looks so cute here, I can die!!!!" She screamed.

Jisung laughed.

She then opened NCT's album.

"I wonder whose diary and photocard you got," Jisung said.

She carefully opened NCT's album.

"OMG OMG! JISUNG-AH, IT'S YOUR DIARY!" Haejin said.

Jisung's eyes widened.

Chenle got the diary from Haejin.

"Jisung-ah, your handwriting sucks." He laughed. Jisung frowned.

"Look at the photocard!!"

Haejin removed the adertisements which come in every album.

She knew she was screwed.

It was Jaemin.

Her eyes widened, "OH MY GOD WHY?! AAAAAAAA!!"

She ran outside her room and went to the living room, where Mark is.

"MARK! MARK!!! I GOT JAEMIN!! I GOT JAEMIN'S PHOTOCARDㅡ oh hi, Jaemin-oppa..."
