[3] Hanging Out
I hummed as I grabbed my drink with my bag that contained a burger, chicken nuggets, sauce, and french fries. I smiled, thanking the cashier, and walked out of the fast-food restaurant. Once, I stepped my foot out of the restaurant, I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. "Hm?" I placed my drink down on a window sill and pulled my phone out. I turned it on and checked the notification.

"Huh?" I looked up and saw Todoroki, standing at the entrance of a park across the street. I smiled and grabbed my drink, looked both ways to make sure no cars were coming and dashed across the street over to him. Once I made it over to him, I threw my arms around him while holding my items, hugging him happily.
I then quickly jumped back. "Sorry, sorry," I said, smiling sheepishly.
He looks at me and nods. "Mmm..." He looks at the items I was holding.
"Did you just leave from there?" He asked.
I smiled and nodded. "Yeah! I got hungry!" I told him.
"Ah, okay. Let's go sit somewhere." He said and started to walk into the park.
I nodded and followed him.
After a few minutes, we stopped walking.
I looked and saw we were standing in front of a large and beautiful lake. "Wow," I muttered, I looked at Todoroki and saw him sitting down on the ground.
I smiled and sat down next to him.
I then opened my bag, I took my burger out and then sat my bag in the middle, between us. "Have some," I said and looked at him, as I took the wrapping off of my burger and took a bite.
I munched on the bite as we sat in silence, which was interrupted by the sound of the bag rustling. I looked and saw Todoroki pulling out a fry. I watched him bite the fry.
I smiled.
"Is this nice? Sitting together, out, and enjoying each other's company... I mean, unless you're not enjoying my company. But, I'm enjoying yours." I said.
Todoroki popped the rest of the fry into his mouth and looked at me.
"...I... enjoy your company." He muttered.
My heart fluttered.
I smiled. "Good," I said and glanced at him, and glanced at his neck. A glimpse of something silver caught my attention. I quickly diverted my eyes and took another bite out of my burger, and as I reached into the bag my hand touched, Todoroki's who was reaching into the bag at the same time.
We both snatched our hands away.
"Sorry." We said at the same time.
I giggled and smiled, as I looked at Todoroki, who looked slightly flustered.
"What's so funny?" He asked and glanced at me.
"You," I said, and took the last bite of my burger.
"Me?" He turned his head, fully looking at me.
"Yes, you. Shoto Todoroki." I said.
"And, how am I funny?"
"Look at your face, you're all flustered!" I laughed, and reached into the bag and grabbed the chicken nuggets and sauce.
I opened the sauce and held out the chicken nuggets. Shoto took one and dipped it in the sauce, before biting it.
"Oh shut up..." He muttered.
I giggled, getting myself a chicken nugget and dipping it in the sauce and popping it into my mouth.
"Hey, when we finish eating. I wanna take you somewhere." I said.
He looks at me. "Where?" He asked.
I smiled and winked. "A surprise," I said.
He sighs and shakes his head, but I swear I saw a small smile on Shoto's face.
After a bit we finished up all the food, I had. I had thrown away the trash and now we were on the sidewalk, walking to wherever I'm taking, Shoto.
"I feel like we're going somewhere weird." Shoto.
I smiled and stopped in my tracks and turned towards Shoto. "We're here!" I pointed.
He looked at where I was pointing.
"An arcade?" He asked.
I smiled and nodded.
"Yup! Now wanna come in with me or not?"I asked, and held my hand out to him.
He looked at my hand, and then looked me in the eyes.
I smiled at him happily, he then slowly held his hand out, and then held my hand.
He looks at me. "I wanna come with you." He said.
I grinned and dragged him inside. Still holding Shoto's hand, I got out some cash and paid for a cup half filled with tokens. I looked at him. "Any suggestions?" I asked.
"Hm..." He thought for a second and then nodded. "Yeah."
Now, we were standing in front of a fighting game. "Oh! Okay! You want to play this?" I asked.
"Yup." He said and looked at me, I smiled and let go of his hand, and handed him some tokens. "Well, get ready to get your ass kicked," I said.
He let out a soft chuckle, as we both put our tokens in.
We then started the game and started to play. "Oh shit," I muttered, as Shoto was able to pull a combo on my fighter.
I huffed and tried to beat him, but I was quickly defeated.
"Ugh!" I groaned. "Rematch!" I told him.
Shoto looked at me with a proud smirk. "Do you want to lose again? Cause, I was expecting you to kick my ass." He said.
"Pffttt, I will this time!" I said.
"Mmm, I really want to save you the heartbreak." He said and shrugged. "But, if you insist."
"I INSIST!" I huffed and handed him some tokens.
He chuckled and we started to play again until...
I lost again.
I pouted.
"Ugh, I keep losing to you!" I sighed and picked up the cup filled with tokens, I then felt my free hand being grabbed. I looked, and Shoto's hand was holding mine.
"Shoto?..."I muttered.
He looked at me. "Come on, I'll get you something." He said and started to walk.
I followed him over to a claw machine.
"You're going to get me something from here?" I asked.
He pulled out a dollar and nodded.
"Yes. What do you want?" He asked.
I hummed and looked at the plushies and stuffed animals.
"That one!" I grinned and pointed at a large, stuffed bear.
He nods and instantly gets the bear. Still holding my hand, he grabs the bear and holds it. "I'll hold it, till we get you home. Any games you want to play?" He asked.
"Hm..."I looked around but then jumped happily. "Skee ball!" I shouted and looked at him.
He gives a small smile and nods.
"Let's go." He said, I grinned and walked over to the skee ball area, with Shoto hand in hand. Once there, I handed Shoto some tokens. "I am the skee ball queen," I told him, letting go of his hand.
"But, what if I dethrone the queen? That makes me the king, right?" He chuckled.
"Oh shut up. You can't defeat the all-powerful, (Y/N) Yoarashi-(L/N)!" I told him, and put in my tokens, Shoto did the same. Our balls came sliding down.
I smiled and slid my ball, instantly getting it in the 100 section.
"Oh wow, it seems I have competition." He said, before sliding his ball and getting it in the 100.
"Ugh, are you instantly good at everything?" I asked as I threw another ball getting it in the 100.
"I try. But, I'm not perfect."
We both threw our next ball.
"Who is perfect?"
I threw my ball and looked at Shoto, who was looking at me.
"What?" I asked and smiled.
"Nothing." He said, looking back at the game and throwing the ball.
I shrugged and threw my ball.
"So, Shoto. I've been meaning to ask since I've seen you... What happened to your eye?" I asked, and glanced at Shoto. He stopped moving.
"Oh, sor--"
"My mother threw boiling hot water at the left side of my face." He said and threw another one of his balls.
"Oh. Why?" I asked and threw another ball.
"My left side, it looks like my father. Who was abusive. Drove her crazy, that she started to hate the side that reminded her of me." He replied as he threw a ball.
"Wow," I muttered, I didn't know what to say. I just threw another ball.
"Since we're asking questions. What about you?" He looked at me.
"What about me?" I asked, and smiled. "I don't really have a scar anywhere," I said.
"Not on the outside. But, inside. Every time I see you smile, it shows that you're happy, but I look into your eyes, and it says you're hurting a lot." He said we both threw our balls. "I watched the news back then. When they announced what happened, the vigil, and her grave. I was young, but I thought about you. I wondered if you were okay."
I looked at the last ball in my hand.
"Shoto I don't have any type of scars. Maybe my dad, after her, he sent me to live with his parents for years. He needed a break, and was going off the rails and couldn't take care of me. But, he's much better now." I said.
He sighed and shrugged. "Okay."
We both threw our last balls.
I smiled and grabbed my tickets and looked at our scores.
"TIED?!" I groaned out and pouted.
"Here."
I looked at Shoto, then his hand. He was holding out his tickets. "Use my tickets with yours." He said.
"Really!?"
He gave a small smile and nodded.
I took his tickets and grinned. "I will not waste these!"
...
We left the arcade, I walked beside Shoto with a wide grin and in my hands was a bucket filled with different types of candy the arcade had to offer.
"So, you blew off all of our tickets on candy?" He asked.
I smiled and nodded.
"Yeah! It was so worth it. Plus most of their prizes were kind of lame." I told him.
He chuckled, and we continued walking in comfortable silence until we arrived at my apartment complex.
"Well, we're here," I said and turned towards Shoto.
"Right, and here." He held out the stuffed bear.
I smiled and took it. "Thanks! Hm, I'll name him... Shoto Junior!" I grinned.
"Shoto Junior?" He asked, with a small smirk.
"Yup. Issue?" I asked.
He shook his head and chuckled.
I smiled and put my stuff down on the stairs and faced him. "Can I hug you?" I asked.
He nodded.
I smiled and hugged him, wrapping my arms around him.
He then wrapped his arms around me, holding me tight.
He felt so warm, and his breathing was steady. My head was against his chest. I could hear his heart. It was pounding fast. I smiled and laughed softly.
We released each other and looked at each other.
"Why did you laugh?" He asked.
"I listened to your heart. It's pounding." I said and smiled at him. "Like mine..." I muttered.
He stared at me, before slightly leaning down and placing a soft kiss on my cheek.
I could feel my whole face just instantly heating up.
He stood back up and looked away with slightly red cheeks.
"I had fun today... See you later." He said and turned away.
I felt myself smiling like a whole dork.
"Bye Shoto!" I waved as he walked away.
I laughed softly and grabbed my items and went up the stairs.
Shoto. I'm glad that I know we feel the same way about each other.
[I like this chapter lol. I think so far my favorite would be this one, but I have a lot more in plan ^^.]
