Chapter ‡ 4

"Dad. Your kidding right?"

I pleaded to Dad that he was just joking. I couldn't be married, I'm a man, I should get a woman to be married with, not to some guy.

Yes, he looked handsome and I can't deny that but marrying a guy and without my knowledge that were also engage had me thinking that Dad was just taking my liberty away.

"Son. This is Kristopher Callisto. Boss of the European mafia and he's your husband."

"So it's all just for the wealth and power huh?" I asked directly to the point.

"You just want me to marry this criminal lord just for your own goddamn selfish purposes. You don't value any of my happiness!!." I yelled out crying before I barge out of Dad's office.

"Sir? Everything okay?"

"Give me the car key Lawson." I demandingly asked.

"But sir-"

"Just give me the goddamn keys! Or else I will shoot you right there right now!" I practically yelled, making Lawson stare at me wide eyed but eventually held out the keys.

I snatch it from his hands and ran inside the car and took off, leaving this forsaken mansion.

I don't know who I can talk out this feelings out for just awhile. Its been six years and maybe my closes friends had forgotten about me or even scarred me because I left without giving a word to them. But I know where I can talk this out, my sister Elle.

I arrived at the cemetery, her grave was far inside so I decided to take my car inside. The place looked haunted, added the incoming storm that blackens the place slightly and the constant silent lightning that strucks the greyish clouds above. I drive further inside and came to a huge tree, and under it, is where my sister Elle was buried. I parked my car and slid off and walked a few good meters and spotted her grave, a white cross laying on top and a huge angel's statue by the head.

I crouch down before her grave and pulled out the weeds that started growing on the sides and smiled.

"Hi sis, its been six years that I've been missing you and here I am, back again." I chuckled.

"You know the place has always been the same, especially our room and remember that park we used to play? Its the same as ever too. I hope you could be here again."

I brushed away the leaves that had fallen on her grave stone as I let my tears fall down in my eyes like a waterfall.

"Dad's being a dick again sis. He engage me to a person I don't even know, and the worst is he's some mafia lord from other country. It hurts my pride that he just used me for power and wealth. He didn't even value my own liberty and happiness."

I cried out in front of her grave and it may seem funny but it looks like the heavens felt my sorrow and cried with me. I lay down beside my sisters grave and watch the little raindrops fall from the sky heavily, letting it soaked me and everything around us.

I close my eyes as I sooth myself with the coldness of the water blessed by the heavens above. It did calm me a bit and its more perfect to have it this way.

No one will know you were crying when under the rain since they can't determine if its your tears cascading down from your eyes or the water from above.

As I lay there soaked from the rain, I started reminiscing the memories I had with my sister. The time we woke up in each others arms, the time we go to school, the school trip, her birthday, my birthday, her telling me her first crush, our dreams together and everything that I could remember. It hurts a lot because I can still remember it like it happened just yesterday.

"Elle... I'm so sorry-"

I didn't remember anything what happened next. All I feel is that my body was burning but I feel cold and it feels like I'm floating around before I slid off to sleep.

The next time a woke up, I was already in a white room, soft bed and pillows under me and a wet cloth in my forehead. I tried sitting up but failed since I can't really see properly, seeing that it was all blurry.

"You need to go back to sleep Ren, your tired."

I heard a soothing voice and it calms me down immediately, my body saying that I'm safe and out of danger. That no one will sell me to some perverted assholes in the underground society. So I went back to sleep.

That night, I dreamed of something beautiful. I met my sister in a field full of flowers. We were laying down next to each other as we watched the blue sky above.

"Hey sis, look at that heart shape cloud."

I called out and she smiled at me.

"Yeah its nice bro." She chirped.

After how many years, this is the first time I've heard my sister's voice again. It was soothing and full of kindness.

"Ren, you need to go back. He's waiting for you."

"Huh? Who's waiting?" I asked her as her soul begun fading in a form of golden butterflies.

"He is waiting-"

And I went back to an utter dark place and that's when I opened my eyes again. The white ceiling greeted me and I felt a strong pressure on my right hand. I slowly lifted my body up the bed and gasps when I saw who was holding my hand.

"Kris."

I called out and tried to remove my hands from his, but he held it with his firm grip. His face scrunch up before his left eye opened and immediately, his piercing electric blue eyes looked at me making me blushed. Geez, I'm blushing because of a guy.

He let go of my hand to stretch his body out and I immediately miss the heat of his skin against my hand.

"Your awake. Good. Let's check if your okay shall we?"

"Huh?"

I looked at him and he pulled me to him and brush my brown hair from my forehead and place his forehead against mine to test my temperature and it made me blush nervously.

His eyes looked straightly to me and I was frozen from his stare that all I could do was stare at him too but realizing this could lead to something inappropriate when I felt him tilted his head a little bit and leaned down, I quickly pushed him away from me.

"Sorry-" I mumbled.

"Hmm, Your fever has gone down but I recommend you to have bed rest for awhile."

"Hey, your not my mom."

"Hmm? Yes, I'm not your mom, I'm just a criminal lord that happens to be your husband and is in love you."

He stated bluntly making me blush more now. I clutch the pillow close to my chest as I looked at my pale feet.

"Don't go sleeping under the rain idiot. You got me worried over there when you didn't came home for about two hours. So I looked for you all over the place and luckily I had the best hunch and found you in the cemetery."

I pouted. "I said... your not my mother."

"And I said, I'm just a guy who loves you."

"Shut up."

"You should've been grateful I took care of you even if I was a busy man. I didn't even sleep properly just to look out for you whenever you wake up and need something."

"Then you didn't have to do that! I didn't even order you to do so."

He grab his leather jacket and crossed to the room to get to the door.

"Your my husband, so you're my responsibility."

He stated before walking out and closing the door behind me, leaving me blushing furiously and a fast heartbeat.

"No way..."
