Toni woke up very early that morning. After prying herself from Cheryl, while trying not to wake her, she goes to the kitchen and starts making breakfast. It was Cheryl's birthday, and Toni planned on surprising her with breakfast in bed. The pink-haired girl makes her girlfriend's favorite: brown sugar and cinnamon oatmeal with fresh strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries; and coffe with two sugars and hazelnut creamer. She sets the breakfast on the tray with a couple of roses and happily carries it too her and Cheryl's room.

"Gooood morning!" Toni said sweetly.

Cheryl sits up and stretches while Toni sets the tray on her lap.

"What's all this for?" Cheryl asked yawning.

"I just wanna spoil my best girl on her b-day. Happy Birthday, Cherry Bomb." replied Toni, kissing her cheek.

Suddenly Cheryl's smile faded and was replaced with a depressed expression.

"Something wrong, babe?" Toni asked.

"Nah, I'm fine...just still a little tired. Maybe this yummy breakfast will wake me up." Cheryl lied with a fake smile.

The red-head takes a bite of her breakfast and smiles to ensure her girlfriend that she's okay...even though she's far from it. For most of the day, Cheryl had been wearing a fake smile; but Toni's no fool, she knows her too well.

"Babe, seriously, what's going on?" Toni asked holding Cheryl's hand gently.

Cheryl sighs then looks at her feet sadly.

"Sorry, TT, I'm trying to be happy, I really am. But...I...it's just I don't really like my birthday that much...not anymore, not since..." Cheryl explained, trailing off at the end.

The realization hits Toni like a slap in the face.

"Ohh, Cherry Bomb, I'm so sorry. I forgot that your birthday is also...Jason's birthday." Toni apologized.

"It's okay, you were just trying to be a good girlfriend. And I really do appreciate the things you did to make today special." Cheryl replied.

Toni pulls her favorite redhead in for a hug and pets her head while softly kissing her cheekbone.

"How's about we go home for some cuddles and romcoms?" suggested Toni.

Cheryl nods then hugs back. The two walk home holding hands. They make a little nest of pillows and blankets, and grab a bunch of snacks.

"What movie do you wanna start with?" Toni asked.

"13 Going on 30, duh." answered Cheryl.

Toni puts in the movie then snuggles with her girlfriend.
