This is my interview with cerebraljosh (now BLRRYFCES)

They have 179 followers at the moment and 9 published works including 'cream which is a multiship and apart which is a multiship with 10k reads.

1. Why did you decide to first make your Wattpad account?

Well, long story short, this is my third active Wattpad account. I started out on here originally writing regular fiction novels, and then I switched to write my first fanfictions about Ten/Rose, a ship from the British show, Doctor Who.

I then ended up leaving that account entirely and making another one strictly for my phanfiction (Dan and Phil fanfiction) once I became obsessed with them.

Almost a year later, I thought about writing Joshler/Tysh fanfiction so I created this account mainly as a tiny side account to dump all of my Joshler stuff on because my irl friends followed my other one and they didn't ship Joshler, so I wanted to keep it separate for whatever reason.

They know about it now though, but instead of keeping this account as a "side account" it quickly became my main one as I discovered my liking for actually reading Joshler and other band fanfiction and also decided I liked the writing better on this profile.

2. You mostly write Joshler, so how did you first get into that ship?

Basically for as long as I knew twenty one pilots existed (via the phandom, radio and one of my friends), I also knew Joshler existed. I didn't really feel like I was in the clique until about a month or two after I started first really listening to them.

I originally didn't ship them whatsoever, I thought it was a bit odd with Jenna, Tyler's wife, and people like that, and being the newbie I was, I thought Tyler and Josh were iffy on it.

Then I watched some interviews and some of their tour vlogs and whatnot and I found out that Tyler and Josh actually played around with their "relationship" and I found it really funny, and I needed some new characters to write about other than my small group of youtubers, so I started incorporating Tyler and Josh into my fanfictions either as subtle boyfriends or strictly platonic because I was still weary on actually shipping them.

To this day, I still don't like Joshler as far as real life terms go, mainly because I love Jenna Joseph, and I think the ship works much better as a pair of characters.

3. Do you have a book of yours that you would recommend for people not sure where to start?

It honestly depends on what you want to read, so if you like humor and those Spicy Memes™, then I think you should start with apart, which is basically just another groupchat/texting style fic. It has a good amount of ships in it other than Joshler, including Ryden, Halsanie, Frerard and some others that all kind of merge together in one messy groupchat.

If you like fluff and softness and want to stay away from angst, I think 'cream is the best thing to choose, it's a multiship book including Joshler, Phan, and Halsanie (Melanie Martinez and Halsey). It literally has no angst or drama in it, it's just a cute and happy fic.

If you like drama and angst, then you should start with dangerous sarcasm, which is an alternate universe high school focusing on not Josh or Tyler, but their alter egos (Blurryface, Spooky Jim, etc).

4. Do you have any pet peeves concerning Wattpad or things you dislike about posting on here?

Hmm, yeah I've got some. I don't like the whole "offensive comment" thing, I mean, I get it, but you can't even reply to them.

I also don't like the weird messaging system, you can't have groupchats, or send photos or anything.

Also, the ads weren't here a month ago, why are they here now ????

Another one, this is just a Joshler related thing, but the Forest fic references are so repetitive. Like the (original) Forest fic isn't even on Wattpad? I wish you could put in banned keywords for comments kinda like instagram. That'd be great.

5. If you could be one of the characters you have written for a day who would you choose and why?

I'd probably be Ashley (Halsey) from 'cream. Her character is just overall very sweet, and her friends and life just seem so fun. Plus, she gets to go to twenty one pilots concerts all the time. Who doesn't want that ??

But in all seriousness, her character is just very free flowing and she knows what she wants and how to get it. I think it'd be fun to step in her shoes.

6. Would you like to one day work on getting a book published or do you write more for fun?

I've always written for fun, but I have a few ideas, one of which I may publish to Wattpad as a fanfiction sometime in the near future, and it would be a cool thing if I ever got the opportunity to change some names and faces and edit the hell outta it and get it published!

But for right now, as an avid artist, I'd rather write on the side for fun.

7. I know as an author sometimes I write a line or a paragraph that I'm especially fond of. Do you have one of those?

I quite like this; it's from chapter eleven of 'cream:

his vocals were ones made of sweetened candy, an aesthetic of darker sides and light, glowing sunshine you cannot find anywhere else except in his own conscious. they were purely unique, and once you heard the rarity of the sound, it would always crawl back in your head. and that's what everyone enjoyed about tyler joseph.

I like this because Tyler is a beautiful person with a beautiful voice and I like to think that I captured that aspect of him decently although I can never do justice to the actual thing.

8. Do you have a future goal you would like to reach on Wattpad?

Well, I'm quite amazed at where I am now, I never thought any of my stuff would have as much success as it does.

Personally I'd love to reach at least 200 followers but like I said, I'm perfectly overjoyed with where I am now.

Maybe a more personal goal would be to push out of my comfort zone as far as writing goes, I'm never good at writing sad angst scenes but I'd love to work on that!

9. Any advice for someone new to Wattpad who is considering starting their own book?

It took me three whole accounts and fifteen gazillion books and drafts to finally appreciate where I am as an author today.

You have to start somewhere, and creating things like books is such a great thing. Not only do you get pride in being able to say, "hey, that's my book, my very own creation" but it can also help a lot with important things like grammar and language, and also as a stress reliever maybe.

So as soon as you start, don't give up. I know it's hard to think about the thousands of other "popular" works on Wattpad, but I promise you'll do great. It may take time, and effort and you may want to bite your nails to the end of the nail beds while writing, but as long as you keep to your motivation and have fun, you've got this.

If you need inspiration, if you're stuck, don't give up. Writing prompts and things like that are a lifesaver sometimes.

But all in all, if you wanna do something, go for it! The possibilities are endless and I believe in you!

10. What has been your best moment on Wattpad so far?

My best moment so far? Probably knowing that I've made people laugh and smile. I think it's important to do those things, it's literally a health benefit to laugh.

But yeah, I think the fact that I've made people somewhat happy at some point makes me happy as well. I don't think anyone will understand the feeling I get when I get a comment along those lines. It's just nice to hear about people's happiness in my opinion.
