Authors POV Warning mentions of death,blood and injections.

For once Y/n was right about plans not working out,for the plan she had with Horatio to go to the lab after her shift changed dramatically, and not for the better either. For you see a major accident happened at the hospital Y/n works at and until it is resolved no one could go home. The reason being a helicopter that was due to transport a patient to another hospital, crashed into the helipad killing all inside and injuring people in the hospital.

As Y/n is the most senior doctor in the hospital she is the one that has to deal with every thing. From getting help from the outside world to organizing the transport of patients to other hospitals as Miami General is no longer safe. Horatio on the other hand had yet to hear about the accident at the hospital his girlfriend works at.

Horatio was talking with Alex when one of the uniformed officers changed the channel on the TV to the news.
"Reports are coming in that a helicopter due to transport a patient to another hospital has crashed into the roof of Miami general hospital" the report said. At the mention of the hospital, Horatio turned his attention to the TV and watched.

In the background behind the reporter he could see the hospital roof and top two floors are on fire and their is loads of thick black smoke pouring from the wreckage of the helipad. Horatio moved closer to the TV and turned the sound up to hear what is being said
"At this moment it is not known how many people in the hospital are injured or dead" as the words leave his mouth a explosion rings out from the hospital.

By this point the whole lab had stopped working and is watching the TV,but none are more concerned than Horatio himself. His girlfriend worked there and he had no idea if she was still alive or dead. The news cut back to the studio as firefighters urged the reporters further back from the hospital. Horatio didn't hear what Alex was saying to him until she touched his arm.

"Horatio are you okay?" Alex asked
"I..." Horatio didn't know what to say
"This isn't like you to be this concerned with an accident at the hospital" Alex says "There is someone at that hospital you know, isn't there?" There is no point in hiding it any more Horatio thought
"My girlfriend Y/n works there" Horatio said quietly. Alex looks up at him and says
"Instead of standing here worried,try calling her phone. If that doesn't work go to the hospital its self,because at the moment you are far to worried to be of any use to anyone" Alex tells him.

Horatio knows she is right,he takes out his phone from his jacket pocket and heads outside. On the way Ryan,Eric and Frank walk over to Alex and Ryan asks
"What's up with H?"
"Yeah he looks very upset about something" Eric adds
"Alex do you know?" Frank asks
"Horatio's girlfriend works at the hospital where the helicopter crashed" Alex tells them.

The three men share a look and then look to the doors where Horatio was coming back in from making a call
"I didn't know he had a woman?" Ryan says
"It makes sense" Eric says
"That's why he attacked that lowlife earlier today, that name he mentioned must have been H's girlfriend" Frank says
"What did the guy say?" Alex asks
"He said he would pay someone called Y/n a visit after her work was done,and H got really mad at him" Eric explained.

"And now this has happened, no wonder H is so upset,poor guy" Alex says
"I'm going to the hospital" Horatio said as he walked passed the four of them
"Not with out us" Alex says.

Y/n P.O.V

I blink several times as I come back around from being knocked out. There is a ringing in my head and my left arm feels weird, I lay still for a few minutes remembering what had just happened. Something had crashed in to the top of the hospital and caused a explosion that had shook the building. At that point I had started to evacuate the hospital along with Adam,then the second explosion happened and we got sent flying.

I carefully sit up and look around me,the air is full of dust from the ceiling and it is getting hotter with the fire from the roof
"Y/n" I hear Adam shout
"I'm here Adam" I call back to him,a few seconds later Adam manages to crawl over to me and I can see there is a bone sticking out of his leg and he is covered in more blood.

"Adam your leg" I say,he looks at his leg and shrugs
"Small price to pay for saving you" Adam says
"You pushed me out of the way and got hurt yourself" I say
"Yeah well just between us,your boyfriend scares me. And I didn't want him coming after me if I let you die" Adam says
"I don't think H would do that",or would he? I think.

"I think you shoulder is out of place" Adam points out as he ties his belt around his leg to stem the flow of blood. I look at my shoulder and see he is right
"Must have happened during the explosion" I say,I place my left arm between my legs and give my shoulder a good shove and hear it crack back into place"Ow". Next I take off my hoodie and tie it around the hole in Adam's leg to keep things out of it.

"Right on the count of three I'm going to help you to stand" I tell Adam
"Right" Adam says, I move so I am beside him and place his arm across my shoulder and begin to get ready to stand
"OK one,two,three" I say and on three I push up and Adam manages to push himself up on his un injured leg and we stand
"Now let's get out of here" Adam says.

It takes us some time but we manage to go down the stairs and on the way any one we pass,we tell to head down to the ground floor. On the way I pull my phone from my pocket but see that it is broken so I put the phone back and carried on. By now the firefighters should be hear to deal with the fire and will have cut the power to the building to avoid any more explosions.

We reach the ground floor and see that it is a complete mess. Whilst I sit Adam down at the front desk,I search for a sling for my arm. Once that is taken care of,I start to tell the staff to get the most critical patients out first. Anyone that can walk should do so and help out as much as they can.
"Mitchell" I call to the security guy,he turns to me" get Adam out of here,his legs is broken and the bone is threw the skin"

"Wait Y/n you should come with me and get your shoulder seen to" Adam says
"Later,right now I need to evacuate this hospital fully" I tell him. Once Mitchell has Adam out of the doors I head back threw the wards on the ground floor,helping out whenever I could. The pain in my arm was intense and my ribs also hurt, but I ignored the pain and carried on.

Authors POV

With everything that had gone on inside the hospital, it wasn't much better outside. Doctors and nurses are trying to get as many people away from the hospital as possible. It didn't help that others hospitals where getting full and are further away. The CSI team arrived to help,they didn't need to be there but the police where great full of the extra help.

Once there Horatio began to look around for any sing of Y/n whilst the rest of the team helps the police and paramedics. Horatio saw Frank talking to the chief of the firefighters and headed over to where they stood
"Right at this moment I have men in that building clearing the place out,most of it is empty but there still a few left" the chief says
"What about the building how safe is it?" Frank asks as Horatio joined them.

"The roof is very unstable considering that is where the helicopter hit." The chief tells Frank,at that moment one of the firemen comes over to the chief who steps to the side
"What's going on Frank?" Horatio asks him
"According to the chief there is still a few people left in the hospital and the roof could give in at any moment" Frank tells him
"I haven't seen Y/n anywhere" Horatio says.

The chief comes back over to the two men and says
"They are just bringing the last few people out now" Horatio and Frank turn to the hospital and watch as a group of about twenty people is lead out of the hospital. Horatio watches the people for a few seconds and then his eyes land on the one woman he was looking for the whole time. Y/n still helping out the patients, covered in dust and debris. Horatio headed over to the people as Frank went to find the rest of the CSI team.

Y/n P.O.V

Despite the fact that I myself am injured I had to make sure the patients are safe. Once the last elderly man is being seen to I myself head to get checked over. Even though I am a Doctor I still had to get checked,I tired around to get someone to check me over when I see a familiar man coming towards me. Its Horatio, he must have been looking for me outside.

I make my way towards him but seeing as he is taller than me he reaches me first. Before I could even say anything Horatio gentle pulls me to him and leans down and kisses my passionately on the mouth. I ignored the burning pain in my ribs from a lack of oxygen, I am determined to enjoy this kiss as long as I could. For some time back in the hospital I was certain I wouldn't make it out and see Horatio again.

When the pain in my side finally became to much to bare,I pulled back from H's lips
"I've heard the saying you take my breath away,but this tops that" I say
"I thought I'd lost you" Horatio says to me
"You can't get rid of me that easily" I tell him,I hear Horatio laugh slightly at that
"How badly are you hurt?" Horatio asks me.

"I put my shoulder back in place early and I think I might have cracked or broken ribs as well" I say
"You need to sit" Horatio says leading me over to his hummer
"The one time I get to sit in the Hummer is when I can't joyride it" I complain as Horatio opens the back door and I sit down" Is this a mobile lab in here?" I ask.

"Just about" Horatio says as he sits down beside me. I rest my head on his shoulder as we watch the people move around us
"Have you seen Adam?" I ask H
"Yes he was taken off in a ambulance not long after I arrived" Horatio tells me
"Its thanks to him I'm only hurt as bad as I am,he pushed me out of the way" I tell him.

"How are you feeling now sweetheart?" Horatio asks looking over at me
"Like I've been run over" I say,H reaches behind him for something in the Hummer" I'm guessing the people coming this way are your team?" Horatio finds what he is looking for and turns back around again
"Yes that's them" he says as he hands me the first aid kit from the Hummer.

"What's this for?" I ask opening the kit
"It has morphine in it for the pain" Horatio tells me as his team stop in front of us
"I don't need no morphine, I'm fine" I tell him,Horatio ignores my protest and sticks the needle straight into my thigh"Oi I said I didn't need that"
"Trust me you did" Horatio says" We had hoped to do this a different way but given the circumstances. This is my girlfriend Y/n L/n" Horatio says to his team.

"Yeah sorry about the timing guys,its nice to meet you all anyway" I tell them. We sit and talk to H's team for a few moments and then its time for the team to head back to the lab and Horatio offers to drive me to a different hospital
"Well it looks like we can spend a lot more time together now" I tell him
"I thought you'd want to work in a different hospital for the time being" Horatio says.

"Nah I'm no use to anyone at the moment with a busted shoulder and then after that I think I'll just take paid vacation" I tell him
"A lot of Doctors and Nurses are now out of jobs with Miami General shut and most other hospitals don't need the extra staff" Horatio says
"Exactly, I'm just going to enjoy the rest of the year off and then see what next year brings" I say
"The choice is yours sweetheart, whatever you want to do I will support you" Horatio tells me
"I know you will" I say" This has got to be the most eventful day so far in our relationship"
"And hopefully the last."
