I sat staring out the window thinking of him again,it is the fifth time today. His wavy blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes and charming smile Gilderoy Lockhart had it all,even though he seemed to be oblivious to my feelings for him. Every other teacher knows that I'm in love with him,just not the man in question. It can get frustrating at times but I guess it doesn't help that I haven't worked out how to tell him yet. Gilderoy and I have been good friends since we both attended Hogwarts together.

Only after graduation did he go and travel the world and become famous with his exploits,where as I stayed put and became the Muggle Studies teacher. And here we are several years later me still teaching Muggles studies and thinking of the handsome D.A.D.A professor instead of marking homework and he is as I said before oblivious to my true feelings for him. I want to tell him that I'm in love with him,but I don't know how to. I don't want to ruin our friendship either,I sighed sadly and went back to my work.

At dinner I sat quietly beside Severus and McGonagall,my mind still a mess of thoughts and feelings. I glanced over to Gilderoy and could see him trying to engage Hooch in a conversation about Quidditch but she wasn't having it
"Any luck on your feelings?" I hear Minerva ask me
"Sadly not,I'm still unsure how to tell him" I tell her
"Just think of how he makes you feel and then tell him" Minerva suggested
"And what happens if he doesn't feel the same,I could ruin our friendship" I say.

"If he hurts you then the dunnder head will answer to me" Severus said from my other side. The potions master is like a big brother to me,of course he doesn't like that fact that I love Lockhart but the heart wants what the heart wants.
"Thanks Sev,but I don't want you to hurt him" I say
"I didn't say I would curse him,I am after all very skilled with potions I could slip something into his drink" Severus said darkly
"I don't want you to do that either" I add"I will tell him once dinner is over"

Dinner ended faster than I wanted, despite waiting for so long I knew it is now or never. I saw Gilderoy leave the great hall and followed after him. I hurried to catch up with him
"Gilderoy" I called making the man in question turn to see who called to him,upon see that it is me he stopped walking and waited for me to catch up
"Ah my dear Y/n,to what do I owe the pleasure?" Gilderoy asked once I caught him up,his smile present on his handsome face
"I...er...was wondering if we could...um...talk in private" I said.

"Certainly we can talk in my office" Gilderoy said,why did I say in private now I have to be alone with him. God I hope I don't make a fool of myself now. The two of us walked down the corridor towards the D.A.D.A class room, Gilderoy talked non stop about his lesson's for the day. I bearly listed though,too scared about what I am about to say. We arrived in the classroom and climbed the stairs to the office above,then once the door closed it is just the two of us alone.

"So Y/n what would you like to talk about?" Gilderoy said not only is he still smiling at me but his blue eyes are looking right at me. I blushed under his gaze and my mind went blank,a puzzled look crossed Gilderoy's face" Are you alright Y/n you look unwell?"
"I...I'm fine...I" I still could bearly speak,I took a steady breath and said"This is going to sound weird but can you turn around?"
"What's this about?" Gilderoy asks
"Please just do it" I say,Gildeory turns so his back is to me, hopefully now I can tell him.

"Will now tell me what is going on?" Gilderoy asks over his shoulder
"I know this is unusual but if I didn't ask you to do that,then I probably wouldn't be able to say what I need to" I said
"Which is?" Gilderoy asked,even in this unusual predicament his tone is still cheerful
"There is something I've been meaning to tell you for sometime now,but I haven't been able to figure out how until now" I say,Gilderoy doesn't say anything thing so I continue " We have been friends for many years now and I hope we will continue to be afterwards...so here goes Gilderoy...I'm in love with you"
