Agreeing to be alone with Elrond for dinner sounded wonderful at the time,but now I'm starting to feel very nervous. I keep thinking all these different things,like what if I said something weird or what if I accidentally broke something or worst of all. What if I feel asleep in front of him? Okay that one is least likely,but it would be the most embarrassing thing to happen. Well to make sure that doesn't happen,I am going to try and have a little sleep. Hopefully I won't have nightmares and I will feel more refreshed and awake for dinner later.

I returned to my room and lay down on the bed ready to try and sleep but nothing happened. I just lay there looking up at the ceiling above me,no thoughts in my head. I'm not sure when it happened but I must have dozed off at some point,as I am awoken to the sound of knocking on the door. As I sit up I look out the window and see that it is going dark, how long have I been asleep? I think. I cross the room to the door to open and to my suprise it is actually Elrond at the door.
"I'm sorry I'm late my lord I was..." I beang to say
"Sleeping" Elrond said.

"Yes actually,I'm not sure when it happened but it did" I said
"Then there is no need for an apology " Elrond said" I trust your sleep was peaceful?"
"Unusually yes,and I'm glad for it" I said. The two of us walked down the corridor towards where we would be dinning together
"I'm happy to hear you have had a peaceful rest" Elrond said" Even if it had only been four hours,it is a small start"
"I hope so,I miss having a full night's rest" I said. We arrived at our destination and the food is already waiting for us, thankfully Elrond didn't have to wait long for me.

We sat down together and talked casually as we ate,but my nervousness from before returned. I tried to not let Elrond see how he is making me feel
"Are you alright Y/n?" Elrond asked me
"Fine my lord." I said
"If that is so,then why are you moving about so much?" Elrond asked, placing his hand on top of my arm that is closet to him. What do I say to that? How can I say that he is making me nervous. "perhaps some fresh air will calm your nerves" Elrond suggested. We stood up and made our way outside where the clouds covered the sky.

We stood listening to the silent city around us,the waterfall nearby and the wildlife as well. I glanced up at the elf lord beside me,as he is looking ahead of him. I wanted to say something to him but I also wanted to keep enjoying the quiet. Elrond must have sensed me looking at him,as he looked down at me at that moment
"Something you want to say Y/n?" Elrond asked
"No my lord" I said " Are you sure you can't read minds?" I asked,Elrond laughed at my question
"No I can not read minds,and for good reasons too." Elrond said.

"But you could learn what people truly think of you" I said
"The only person's opinion of me I am curious about,is you Y/n" Elrond said,he turned to face me
"You know what I think of you" I said " I think you are a very wise and kind leader"
"Is that all?" Elrond asked,I turned to face him. Thinking this may well be the one and only time I can tell him how I truly feel about him. But should I thought? Elrond stood watching me,like he knows I want to say something" You can tell me anything"
"Even if it is something you don't want to hear?" I asked

"How am I to know if I don't wish to hear it, unless you tell me" Elrond said reaching up and playing with a strand of my hair. I took a deep breath and steaded my nerves as best I could
"I do think you a very wise and kind leader,I also think...you are the most handsome elf I have ever laid eyes upon" I said, Elrond didn't say anything at first but just smiled at me. Then he said
"I have waited a long time to hear you say that"
"How did you know?" I asked
"I had a feeling,the way you watched me a lot of the time when you think I wouldn't notice. That and Lindir said you talked about me quite a bit" Elrond said.

"Guess I wasn't as secretive as I thought " I said feeling my face turn red
"Why did you wait so long to tell me how you felt?" Elrond asked me
"I was scared,I've already lost everyone else that I ever cared about...I didn't want to lose you as well"I said
"You won't lose me Y/n,I will always be here for you." Elrond said pulling me into a hug. I rested my head against his chest. I felt very relaxed listening to the sound of his heart beating,I wrapped my arms around him and held him close. I felt Elrond kiss the top of my head,we stood there just holding eachother,as the clouds finally moved and the moonlight shone down on the peaceful city of Rivendell.
