Two Puzzle Pieces: Part 9:
The calm before the storm:
Continuing from Lena walking out from the bathroom:
"She will never believe you, ya know." The boys jumped, they froze, and turned around slowly.
Lena was standing there, her arms folded, and she wore a venomous smirk that could cut through a person in an instant. But what terrified them more was her Aunt, since they knew now, her Aunt wasn't afraid to show herself. She was even more terrifying then Lena.
"So these are the delinquents." Lena's Aunt hissed. She flew around them, sending shivers through their bodies, all they could do is shake.
She circled around Dewey, sensing the pain and heart ache through him, she smirked, "Oh sweetie....you'll never find her. Your wasting your time."
Dewey squinted, his eyes following Magica, "Who are you talking about?" He got the feeling he knew.
"Oh you know who I'm talking about." She grinned.
Huey looked at Dewey, and back at Magica, "Leave him alone!"
Magica floated over to him, she put her hand to his cheek, "Oh you poor oblivious child, I assume he hasn't told you all yet." She glanced at Louie.
Dewey looked down, squeezing his eyes, hoping it was all a terrible dream...it wasn't.
Louie looked at Dewey, "What is she talking about Dewey?" Louie's heart sped up.
Dewey squeezed his fist, not wanting to look up.
Magica flew back to Lena, putting a hand over her mouth dramatically, "Oops! I said too much!" She began to laugh evilly.
Lena just stood there kinda confused.
Lena spoke through gritted teeth, "Uhhh what's going on?"
Magica glared at Lena, forcing Lena to shut it before she possessed her again. Lena made a worried face, she was always afraid that at any given moment her aunt could posses her, Lena sees everything and hears everything that her Aunt says through her. It pains her that she has no control to stop any of it.
Dewey looked up, his eyes were full of tears...he looked...broken. He ran off in the direction Webby went, he didn't want to deal with this right now, he needed to find Webby, even if Huey and Louie told him not to.
Huey and Louie looked at each other with worried expressions on their faces.
Magica sighed, "He's just like your mother...she ran from her problems too, and we all see how she ended up." She cackled.
Lena glared at Magica.
Louie and Huey darted their eyes towards Magica, "You knew our mom?! Louie's voice cracked.
"I was....an ally of hers...I guess you could say I was her friend." Magica glared at the ground. She muttered, "She deserved what she got. Me on the other hand! I deserved none of this!" She pointed at her shadowy hand. She huffed, looking at the mixed emotions going through the children's faces, "Now when I get my hands on that dime I'll be free!"
Lena looked up, "Me too right?!"
Magica looked down at her niece, "Of courseeeee!" She turned, rolling her eyes, unnoticed to them.
They started to hear foot steps coming towards their door, Magica disappeared, the boys and Lena stiffened, facing the door.
Beakley opened the door, holding a basket of folded laundry, "I hope you guys are ready for lunch, cause that's when our bet ends."
"How did you know we were here?" Huey asked, still a bit stiff.
Beakley rolled her eyes, "Because you weren't in your rooms, so the only other place you could be is in my granddaughters room." She stated plainly.
The boys laughed nervously.
Beakley scanned the room, "Speaking of, where are Webby and Dewey?"
Huey and Louie glanced at Lena behind them, Lena darted her head down, looking guilty.
The boys looked at each other with a determined look, Louie walked up to her, "We were playing hide and seek and...Dewey is still trying to find Webby."
Huey nodded, laughing nervously, "You know how serious Webby gets with games."
Beakley glanced at Lena, who was not making eye contact at all, "Hmmm...ok." Beakley shrugged, closing the door behind her. She sure was going to keep her guard up now.
The boys turned back to Lena, their arms folded, Lena looked up, "Thanks for not telling..."
The boys looked at each other, then back at her, "Why are you doing this? Helping her?!" Huey blinked.
Lena shook her head, "I just want my freedom back. I'll do anything for freedom."
Louie pointed at her necklace, "Then why don't you take that necklace off?"
Lena snapped, "You don't think I tried that! It's has a curse on it. I can only get free, when she's freed." Lena folded her arms, glaring at her necklace.
The boys stood there in silence, one thing was mainly bugging them, Louie looked up slowly, scanning Lena's reaction to his question, "What do you know about our mom?"
Lena's eyes went wide, "I honestly know nothing, I don't even know anything about mine!" Lena cursed under her breath.
The boys started to crowd around her a bit, kinda cornering her, she shuffled her feet back a bit, "I told you that I know nothing, I don't know everything that she knows!" Lena snapped, they backed away a bit.
Huey looked Lena up and down, "Your going to be the one to tell Webby."
Lena caught Huey and Louie by their arms, since they were about to walk out the room, "I can't do that! She'll hate me!"
Louie sighed, "Maybe if you explained yourself...she may forgive you and want to help you, your like a big sister to her after all. I mean, if I was in your situation, I'd do the same thing."
Lena gently let their arms go, "She thinks of me as her sister?" Lena thought for a moment, before smiling, "I'll try to explain myself...I just hope she can forgive me."
Huey gave a comforting smile, "It's Webby, I think you'll be ok."
Louie pointed at her necklace, "Can she....hear us?"
Lena looked down, frowning, "While she's in my necklace, all she can do is hear my thoughts......so we should be good...unless...." Lena looked off to the side, shivering.
"Unless what?" Huey asked, worry bubbling in the pit of his stomach.
"She can posses me at any moment...so if something bad happens...keep me away from Top Hat's dime, and protect Webby too!"
The boys nodded slowly.
Lena smiled at them, "Now let's go find Webby and Bluey."
"Dewey." Huey corrected.
Lena rolled her eyes, "Whatever."
Time skip to the boat:
It was close to lunch time, so Scrooge and Donald decided to take a break and eat, while it was Launchpad's turn to fish.
Apparently Launchpad is a good fisher...so he says anyway.
Donald and Scrooge didn't really care if he was or not, he deserved to have his own fun once in a while, other then crashing cars, planes, submarines, etc.
But to their surprise, he was actually pretty good! He kept reeling in pretty big fish!
Scrooge leaned over to Donald, "I should've let yeu steer us here an' let him take yer place within this contest."
Donald scolded, "Excuse me! But I'm an ok fisher!"
"Yea, exactly." Scrooge deadpanned.
"Wow! Way to be supportive of your own nephew." Donald stated sarcastically, while taking a bite of his sandwich.
Scrooge grinned, "Eh, it's no problem at all."
Donald rolled his eyes.
Scrooge thought for a moment, "Maybe we can let him join...." He began to smirk, Donald raised an eyebrow.
Donald stood up, "What are you thinking?" He folded his arms, tapping his foot impatiently.
Scrooge stayed sitting, "I think I just thought of something brilliant!"
Donald looked down at him, then at Launchpad, "Oh no..."
Time skip to Webby:
Webby's hiding spot isn't really the best if someone were to be outside, but luckily for her, no one would see her ether way thanks to her hiding behind the chimney.
Yes her hiding spot was on the roof, no one found her before, so it's the best place she could go to when upset.
She was sitting against the chimney, hugging her knees, sobbing.
Why would her friends believe something like this?! And to blame her friend?! Her best friend that was like a big sister that she never had, which she actually never had before.
She heard a mutter from the other side of the chimney. How could that be possible?! She was the only one who knew about the roof's secret entrance!
She heard a sniffle...was someone...crying?! Were they just in as much pain as her?
Her curiosity got the best of her, she had to take a peek, and to her somewhat surprise, it was the person she least wanted to talk to right now...then why did she feel slightly relieved that he was here?
She whispered "Dewey?"
His head jolted up, "W-Webby?!" He looked to the side of him, and there she was, standing right to the side of him, peaking around the chimney that he was against.
"What are you doing up here?!" He pointed at her, then wiped at his beak.
She walked over to him, blocking the sun, causing her shadow to cover him, "I was gonna ask you the same thing." She rubbed her eyes, sitting next to him.
He sighed, "This is where I go to...think."
Webby turned her head to him, "This is my spot that I go to when I'm upset! I thought I was the only one who knew about this place?!" She was so confused. How is it possible that her friend, her other best friend! Found her spot?! Well it is Dewey...so he was bound to find at some point.
Dewey stretched his legs out in front of him, leaning more against the chimney, "I was snooping around on the day we moved in...and I sorta...found the hidden trap door leading to this."
Webby looked off into the clouds gliding gracefully across the baby blue sky, "Heh, it's crazy how we think alike."
Dewey looked at her curiously, "What do you mean?"
She hugged her legs, fiddling with her fingers, "I snooped around one day and found that door too, and I have been coming here ever since."
Dewey gave a soft chuckle, "It's scary how similar we are."
Webby looked at him, "Tell me about it." She half smiled.
Dewey looked to the sky, he shrugged, "I kinda like it though..." He smiled, with a hint of blush if you looked closely.
Webby looked to him, her eyes a tad wide, she blushed, "Really?!"
He turned to her, "Why wouldn't I?! Your the coolest, most awesome, incredible, girl I know!"
Webby turned to look the other way, trying to hide her face, "Your not so bad yourself." She smirked, mumbling.
Dewey playfully punched her shoulder, "Hey!" He laughed.
Webby giggled.
They sat in silence after a while, just staring into the sky, thinking over everything, remembering.....remembering earlier.
Webby shook her head, turning to him, tears starting to form once again, "Why?! Why Lena?!" She spoke in almost a whisper, but Dewey heard her clear as day, her cry for answers ringing in his ears.(They DO have ears!!)
Dewey looked away, "Webby..."
Webby just stared at the back of his head, her eyes full of tears, the look on her face, demanding answers.
Dewey couldn't look at her, he didn't want to, if he did, he would just break down, seeing Webby like this...it's the worst feeling ever.
Webby spoke up again, her beak trembling, "Dewey! Why?! Please tell me why!" She sat up a bit more, leaning forward, trying to see his face.
Dewey whispered, "Webby I told you everything, I saw her, Huey and Louie saw her! We heard her plans!"
Webby looked away, she was shaking, she just didn't want to believe that after all this time she spent with Lena, that all of it was fake! Everything, but real! Like it was all just an illusion of their friendship. All....fake!(AHHHH I JUST FORESHADOWED THE FINAL AND I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL I REREAD THIS!!! I wrote this in my notes before the final even came out!!)
She began to cry all over again.
Dewey turned his head around slowly, he saw Webby shaking from behind, he heard her crying, she didn't deserve this. Not her!
He hugged her from behind. She whipped around and tackled him in a hug, clinging onto him like he was her life line, her only hope of survival....her only family...left...only friend...left.
He never wanted to let her go, ever. But all moments must come to an end...right?
Back to Lena and the boys:
"Where could they be?!" Huey lifted his hat, running his hand through his hair. They have been all over, searching for them, and Louie and Huey needed to hurry before lunch rolled around.
Lena was hugging herself while walking, "We checked everywhere! How could they not be here?!"
Louie looked to Huey, "Do you think Romeo and Juliet would run away?"
Huey shook his head, "I hope not!"
Lena looked out one of the windows, "Maybe their outside?"
Huey looked to her, then Louie, then they both faced the window, "We're stupid!" Huey smacked his face.
Louie pointed to Huey, "You mean yourself, not me!"
Huey rolled his eyes, "Why didn't I think of that?! Of course they might be outside! Maybe in the garden!"
--------------------------
Lena shouted from her spot, "Do any of you see them?"
Huey and Louie responded, "Nope!"
"You?" Huey shouted to her.
Lena rolled her eyes, "Well if I did I wouldn't be asking now would I?!"
Huey muttered, "Wow! Harsh!"
Louie chuckled from his spot, but as he began to look up, he spotted them....on the roof?!
Louie pointed up, "Uhhh guys? I think I found them."
They looked up, "Yep that's them, of course they'd be on the roof!" Huey shouted up.
Lena sighed, "Let's go."
Louie tilted his head, "How did they even get up there?!"
Huey came up from behind Louie, "It's Dewey and Webby, what did you expect?!" Louie jumped.
"Jeez, don't scare me like that!"
Huey rubbed the back of his neck, "Sorry."
"About what?"
"Ahhhh" Louie and Huey hugged each other, "Don't do that!"
Lena smirked, "Yeaaaa that's not gonna happen." She chuckled, walking back to the manor, "Come on you two chickens."
Louie and Huey rolled their eyes, following her.
Time skip to the boat:
"I'm ready!" Launchpad shouted, coming out of the changing room, it may be a small boat, but it has its perks.
Donald looked at Launchpad and had tons of questions written all over his face, "How did you..."
Launchpad was standing in a costume that resembled Donald's, "Oh this? Webby gave it to me, she tried ordering a Donald Duck costume, but when it came in, it was too big, so she gave it to me, and now I have been having it with me just in case for emergencies like these." Launchpad stood up with pride.
Donald was just...baffled, "I really need to talk to that girl!"
Scrooge smirked, "Now all ye need tu do is pull off acting like Donald, then we can win!"
Donald rolled his eyes, gesturing to Launchpad, "And your telling me that people will be dumb enough to fall for....that!"
Scrooge winked, "That's exactly what I'm saying!"
Donald mumbled, sitting down, "Oh boy...leave it to my Uncle to cheat at something as easy as fishing."
Scrooge folded his arms, rolling his eyes, "I'm not cheating! I'm working smarter, not harder!"
Donald sighed, "Whatever, I still call this cheating."
Scrooge turned to Launchpad, ignoring Donald, "Are yeu ready tu fish Launch- eh- I mean...Donald!"
Launchpad grinned, saluting Scrooge, "Eye-eye Uncle McDee!"
Scrooge turned, pointing out to the ocean, "Then let's get ta fishin'!"
Time skip to Dewey and Webby, which were still on the roof:
They didn't notice how long they were hugging, crying into each other's shoulders, never wanting to let the other go...ever. They felt like two wholes of a puzzle. Two puzzle pieces. Perfectly fitting with the other.
"Webby?"
"Dewey?"
Webby and Dewey untangled from each other's arms quickly. A slight blush forming on each of their cheeks, looking up at the ones who ruined their moment.
"How-" Dewey cleared his throat, "How did you guys get up here?" He looked around nervously.
Huey pointed behind them, "The trapped door."
Webby stood up, as did Dewey, "How did you guys find the trapped door?! I'm pretty sure I closed it back." Webby looked towards where they came from, trying to remember if she did or not.
Louie blinked, "Well, you did a pretty darn good job hiding it, cause it was wide open." He smirked.
Webby blinked, "What?!"
Dewey's eyes widened in realization, chuckling nervously, rubbing the back of his neck, "Ohhhh...I must of left the trapped door open when I stormed up here. Sorry." He glanced at Webby with apologetic eyes.
Webby sighed, "It's ok Dewey." Why was it always so hard for her to stay mad at him?! She felt a smile creep to her beak, just by thinking of him.
He smiled back, both trying not to get lost into each other's eyes, and oh gosh was it hard!
Huey snapped them out of it, "Soooo I'm assuming this is your spot Webby?" He looked around, absorbing in the sight from up above the garden.
Louie whistled, "I could get used to this view."
Webby fiddled with her fingers, she looked half up at Huey, "Yea...it is."
Louie's eyes guided over to Dewey, who was glaring at Lena, speaking of Lena...she hasn't spoken since she's gotten up here. Louie pushed Lena up to the front, she tried twisting back, but Louie blocked her from doing so.
Webby took a few steps back, almost stepping on Dewey's foot, "Lena!" She gasped, "I forgot you were here! I'm soooo sorry!!!" Webby was about to hug her until Lena backed up a bit, stopping Webby by putting her hand out in front of her, looking down.
Webby's arms dropped, "Lena?" Dang it! Why did her voice crack?!
Lena glanced at Huey and Louie, who gave her a thumbs up and a supportive smile.
She breathed in, thinking through what she would say, "Webby...I have to tell you something. Before I do...just remember that I really am your friend! And something like your big sister."
Webby's heart started to race, "Could it be true?"
Dewey noticed Webby's eyes going crazy, so he put a comforting hand on her shoulder, as if to say, 'I'm here, it's going to be ok.'
Webby breathed in, feeling his touch, knowing his message as if they could read each other's minds.
Webby looked up with a determined look on her face, "I'm ready."
Time skip to Beakley in the kitchen making lunch:
Since she was the only one in the kitchen, she would conversant with herself.
She walked back n' forth from the sink to the pot, "I don't believe those kids. Knowing them, Dewey and Webby could be on the moon for crying out load!" Beakley raged on to herself, not noticing the intruder behind her sitting on one of the counters, listening to her talk to herself in worry.
She began talking, believing that she was still alone, "I swear if Webby ends up like her mother, I'll kill the blue one, then go after Donald because of it!" She cut through one of the cutting boards from her putting so much force on it. She sighed, turning around startled by her guest.
He smirked, "Oh don't mind me, continue on ranting, it was just getting interesting."
Beakley held her hand to her chest, "Duckworth! You'll end up giving me a heart attack if you keep popping up out of no where like that!"
Duckworth rolled his eyes, "That sure would make me happy." He grinned.
Beakley looked back at the cut in half cutting board, remembering why she turned around in the first place. She looked back at the ghostly figure before her, "How much of that...did you hear?" She hesitated, looking back at him.
He floated from the counter he was sitting on, now floating a bit above the ground, "Your whole entire show." He smirked playfully.
Beakley rolled her eyes, searching for the other cutting boards that they had stored somewhere in the cabinets, "I don't have time for this."
Duckworth disappeared as she turned around, then reappeared by the stove as she turned back to him, with the new cutting board in her hands.
He inspected her food, frowning, "Tisk, tisk, tisk. I thought I taught you better than this Benita." He gestured to the pot of mashed potatoes as Beakley came by his side.
She rolled her eyes, walking to the other counter to pick up the new cutting board, "I don't have to do everything like you Duckworth, I just have to make my food better, and less bland like your hair color." She smirked, with a bite in her voice.
Duckworth clapped slowly, "Nice."
Beakley turned back around, walking to the stove, she had the gravy on the side, ready for the kids to use if they wanted. She also made corn for them as well. Now all she needed to do was get the kids down for lunch.
She walked up the stairs, ignoring Duckworth.
As she left, he looked over what she had accomplished, even if he didn't want to admit it, he was impressed, "You out did yourself once again Benita." He smiled softly to himself, disappearing off to who knows where.
Time skip back to the kids:
Webby sat down, trying to process everything, she'd be lying if she said she wasn't terrified for her friend.
"Let me get this straight. So you are Magica's niece?! THE MAGICA DE SPELL!!!!!!"
Lena nodded her head, wincing.
Webby continued, "AND you were forced to fake a friendship with me just to get to our Uncle's number one dime, for BOTH of your freedoms?!"
Lena added, "But I actually started to become close to you. Your like a sister to me Webby." Lena smiled.
Webby smiled back, "So she can possess you too?"
Lena frowned, which sent shivers up Webby's back.
"Well, I guess it's a good thing she can't really hear what we are saying." Webby chuckled nervously.
Lena put her hand on Webby's shoulder, sitting beside her, "Webby...I'm so sorry about what I did to you, I hope you understand why, and that we can still be British sisters together."
Webby nodded, hugging Lena, "I understand and forgive you Brittona!" Webby spoke in her British accent.
Lena hugged her back, smiling, she mouthed 'thank you' to Huey and Louie, who smiled.
Dewey helped both of the girls up, apologizing to Lena as he did so, "I'm sorry too, about thinking you were actually evil."
Lena smiled, "It's ok."
Huey stepped forward, "Ok, now that that's settled, we need to tell Uncle Scrooge before it's too late! Hopefully they get back soon."
Lena rubbed her arm, "I guess your right."
--------------------
As they were walking through the hallway, they came across Beakley, "Oh! There you kids are."
Webby ran up and hugged her grandma, "Sorry about making you worry granny."
Beakley softly smiled down at her, "That's alright. I was just coming to get you all for lunch, which is ready."
Webby squealed, pulling Lena with her.
Beakley stared down at Dewey, "I'm watching you."
Dewey began to sweat, walking backwards, then whipping around to run after the girls, feeling Beakley's eyes on him the whole time until he was out of her sight.
His brothers stood there awkwardly.
Beakley handed out these two familiar things to them, smiling, "Here, you earned it."
Huey and Louie were hesitant at first, wandering if it was a trap.
Beakley rolled her eyes, "Take it before I change my mind."
They took it quickly, hugging their precious belongings.
Beakley ruffled Louie's hair, while smiling at Huey, "I was so impressed with you two. You both survived and beat me at my own game. I guess I have to make you cookies now."
Huey and Louie looked at each other, smiling.
"Actually..." Huey looked down at his book, then up at her, putting his book back under his hat, "We want to help you when you make them." Huey elbowed Louie, who was too busy looking at his phone, "Right, Louie?!"
Louie looked up at his glaring brother, then to Mrs. Beakley, he sighed, "Right..." Sticking his phone in his pocket reluctantly.
Beakely smiled, "You don't have to, really."
Huey beamed up at her, "We'd love to help!"
Beakley pulled them into a hug, "Thank you boys."
Huey and Louie smiled at each other through the hug.
She let go, putting her hands on her hips, "Now, let's go eat, shall we?"
The boys nodded their heads furiously, beginning to run down the hall, smelling the aroma of the food from down stairs, Beakley following, walking at her own pace.
Time skip to the boat:
Donald was relaxing, since he didn't care that he had a replacement, as long as he could relax for once. Smiling to himself, he hated when his mind would trail off to Della, but ironically...it wasn't.
His mind was fantasizing over Daisy.
This was new for him, he usually ALWAYS thinks of his sister, but, at the moment, he couldn't help but think of his ex.
Why did they break up in the first pace?! Oh, right...she had to leave to go to New York for her new job. She's a reporter...or was anyway? Why was she hear?!
Thoughts were racing through his mind like crazy. Not leaving him in peace. Well this was going to annoy him all day.
He glanced over to Scrooge and Launchpad, they seem to be doing fine. From what he could see, they had about 35 or so caught by now.
Of course as a boat would pass, Launchpad would throw a fit, babbling, trying to imitate Donald, which others didn't really pay much attention to, going on with their normal lives that Donald wishes he had.
Oh how he'd give to live a normal life...but those boys are his life now. And he wouldn't want it any other way.
If you gave him a new house with a million dollars, and all he had to do was give up his children in return, he wouldn't! He would give it all up and give his children his everything, even if he had really nothing to give at all.
Even if he didn't give them the stars like Della wanted, he gave them his everything.
He gave them his love!
He didn't give them the stars, because he is their stars! And that's all they needed.
"Their stars..."
To be continued...
I'm soooooooooooooooo sorry that this took forever to get out, I have been super stressed and busy, well I have to hurry, it's late and I NEED to go to bed!
UNTILLLLLLL NEXTTTTTTT TIMEEEEE!!! BYEEE!! XD
