Oh and it also has some Debbigail in it, because I couldn't help myself! I also just love that fanart up their, Idk who did it, but they are amazing! Keep in mind that this is my very very very very very (add 10 more very's here) first fanfic EVER!!!! Soooooo, yea I really hope ya'll like it, enjoy! (Ducktales 2017 versions)
Here we go:
Louie was crying, how did this happen? Well let's start from the beginning.......
It began with a little thing called knitting!
Kinda early in the morning-ok maybe around lunch, cause we all know that Louie would never wake up that early!
Anyway, Louie finally woke up from his second nap. This is because he woke up for breakfast, of course he wasn't going to skip that! Then after he ate breakfast he went back to sleep. Now the green hooded duckling sat up and forced himself out of bed, his body screaming at him to lay back down and rest longer. He fought the urge to lay back down on his warm bed.
It was lunch time and he usually skips lunch to do his knitting secretly, so that no one found out. Of course his Uncle Donald Knew, because he is the one who buys Louie's knitting supplies. He also thinks that Mrs. Beakley might of found out too since she cleans their room. If she noticed, then she never spoke a word of it to anyone, or to him.
Everyone knew that Louie skipped lunch, but they just thought that he skipped because he was too lazy to get out of bed. Well they were wrong!
Louie walked to the bedroom door and opened it slowly, scanning to see if anyone was in the hallway. He didn't want anyone barging in while he was knitting, that will give his brothers something to tease him about. He shook off the feeling. He and his brothers share the same room, so he has to hurry if he wanted to have time to himself to knit.
He looked out the door, left then right, seeing no one in sight.( I just noticed, that rhymed XD) Then he closed the door quietly, walked to his bed and pulled his knitting kit from under it. He climbed up on his bed and started to knit away, while thinking to himself in the process.
Knitting makes him feel at peace, it's his favorite peaceful thing to do. He almost loves this more than his phone. ALMOST! His phone is like the love of his life, the love of his life that isn't alive sadly; If his phone was alive he'd marry it! The only problem is that his brothers, Webby, Mrs. Beakly, Uncle, and great Uncle wouldn't come to a wedding for a girl named iPhone 6. Launch Pad on the other hand, would!
Louie paused, looking at the blanket he was knitting. He's been working on this blanket for 3 weeks and he was going to finish today. Who was the blanket for? Well it was for his Uncle Donald. Him and his Uncle had a talk not too long ago when Louie went to the houseboat to get the supplies for his knitting from his Uncle.
Ever since that day, Louie always felt connected to his mom when he would knit.
Flashback:
Him and his Uncle were sitting at the table in the houseboat, Donald was about to hand Louie his things before he stopped and spoke. "You know." He sighed, "You boys remind me so much of her." He smiled sadly.
Louie was confused on what his Uncle meant. "Huh?"
Donald sighed and continued, "After our adventures with you and your brothers mom, she would always go to her room and knit. This was her way to calm herself down, after a thrilling adventure. She would always say that her knitting isn't just knitting it's something more. Something......peaceful. You inhabited her knitting skills....well she wasn't as good as you are now, but she was still better than me." He chuckled.
Louie looked at his hands, he said what he was thinking. "Mom used to knit?" Louie questioned in a whisper almost hard to hear, but Donald heard him clearly.
"Yea, it was her way of finding peace." Donald looked up at Louie, who was still looking at his hands. "Just like it is for you." He smiled in a sad way.
Louie looked up at his Uncle, His Uncle was on the verge of tears. Louie tried to stay strong, he didn't want to cry in front of his Uncle.
Donald continued after a minute of silence, he chuckled "She even made your great Uncle Scrooge a shirt, but with 2 head holes! But Uncle Scrooge wore it proudly on adventures and around the house......Just to see her smile." Donald blinked out a few tears, clearing his view.
"That was until.......s-she......went missing after our big fight." He frowned.
Louie was more interested than ever, wanting to know if his Uncle thinks she's probably still alive. "Do you think she's still out there somewhere?!?" He ran on hopeful "Just maybe....."
Donald answered quickly "NO! I mean-sorry I didn't mean t shout. I-I, she-idk, I'm sorry Louie." Donald almost started to cry, but held back this time. Deep down he had a feeling that she actually was out there.....somewhere.
"Oh...." Louie sank down in his seat, hands in his hoodie's pockets. He looked down at the table.
It went silent for 5 minuets, both caught up in their own thoughts.
Louie broke the silence this time. "I'm gonna go now, but thanks for the information on mom." Louie smiled kinda sadly.
Donald handed him his things and walked him out. They waved goodbye to each other.
End of flashback
Louie didn't notice that he had tears in his eyes until now. He quickly wiped the tears away with his sleeve and got back to work on the blanket. Ever since that day he's been making this blanket for his Uncle Donald in a way of saying thanks for everything.
The blanket was blue with stars on it like in the night sky. And in the middle of the blanket it said 'Della Duck' the colors of the letters were sliver. Yes, this blanket was going to be his best knitting creation yet!
What he didn't know was that his brothers and Webby were hanging out in the vents watching him. They didn't mean to stumble upon Louie knitting, but they just did. And when they did they were all mesmerized by his knitting work, which made them not want to turn around and go back to Webby's room. They were exploring the vents because Dewey and Webby wanted to prove Huey wrong on his theory about something dumb. Of course that was the least of their worries now.
Louie was knitting and he was pretty darn good at it too! "Who knew Louie could knit?!?" Dewey whispered to the others.
"I surely didn't!" Huey answered quietly. "Webby?" Huey turned to look at the pink bowed girl next to him that he was questioning.
"No, I didn't ether!" She also whispered, surprised.
"Guys who do you think it's for, his phone?" Dewey joked.
"Dewey get real! It's obviously for Uncle Donald." Huey rolled his eyes at Dewey's joke.
Webby looked at the red shirted duck, "How do you know that?" She questioned curiously.
"For starters, he would never tell anyone about this, especially us! Also that Uncle Donald would be his source to go buy his things that he needs for knitting." Huey explained.
"But how do you know it's for Uncle Donald, it could be for anyone!" Dewey whisper screamed.
"True dear brother, but if you look closely on the blanket it has our moms name on it, and it only seems right to give it to Uncle Donald. Also, if he knitted a blanket for someone else and says that he bought it for them, he would think that they'd get suspicious. We also all know that Louie would never waste his allowance for anyone, just to give them a blanket for no reason!" Huey smiled, proud of himself for figuring it out first.
Of course Dewey and Webby were still confused, and looked at each other and shrugged.
"Maybe we should make one for him as well. So that he doesn't that we'd tease him for knitting." Huey suggested.
"Sure!" Dewey and Webby Exclaimed quietly, very excited that they get to knit for the first time.
"I finally get to check knitting off my list!" Webby squealed quietly.
"Ok, first let's get out of these vents, and then we can make a blanket in Webby's room." Dewey stated while turning around to go back to Webby's room. But his moms name on the blanket made him feel off about something.
Time skip to Louie
He was scavenging through his room trying to find his green present bag from last year from him and his brothers birthday. Their last birthday was on the houseboat when they weren't with their great Uncle Scrooge. But he always kept that present bag for safe keeping just in case he needed it. Even though it was his favorite color green and not his Uncles favorite color, it's still the thought that counts!
"Aha!" He exclaimed "Found ya!" He picked it up and placed the empty bag on his bed. Before he placed the blanket in the bag he looked at it and sighed. He looked at his moms name and traced the letters with his finger. He thought to himself "We miss you, you know? Uncle Donald does, everyone does..........I miss you too. I wish you were here." He started to tear up, but he wiped his tears away, folded, and picked up the blanket off the bed, putting it into the green bag. He walked out the room and closed the door. He didn't have to turn the lights off since they weren't on, it was in the middle of the afternoon, so the windows light was enough for him to see when he was knitting.
Time skip to the houseboat
He walked up to the door, hesitating to knock, but did. "I wonder what the others have been up to? Huh. Dewey and Webby are probably in Webby's room talking about random things, and most likely blushing every time they look at each other. Man I wish I was there, I really hope Huey is taking photos of their moments! Hahaha they are sooooo oblivious!"
Louie's thoughts were interrupted whenever Donald opened the door slightly surprised to see Louie. "Um hey. Oh What's that you got there?" Donald questioned finally noticing the green bag.
"This? It's for you." Louie said acting like he didn't care, but deep down he really did care.
"Oh! Um come in, it's your home too after all." Louie kinda cringed after hearing his uncle say that, he didn't want to ever move back into this place ever again! He hoped the him and his brothers could stay living in the mansion, and keep adventuring with their great Uncle Scrooge. He even wanted his Uncle Donald to stay.
Louie walked in and sat down at the table. He gave his Uncle the gift that he made. "I kinda got you something-well I made it..." He trailed off.
Donald sitting down across from him now, hesitantly grabbed the green bag and tried to read Louie's expression, but his expression was completely calm and lazy looking as always. So he looked in the bag and was not expecting what he saw. He was astonished by how Louie knitted this blanket by himself! He had no words, so instead he started to cry.
Louie's eyes went wide "Uncle Donald, are you ok?!?" He was so confused, he didn't want to make his Uncle cry.
"Louie, I'm just fine. It's just that.....this is beautiful. Thank you sooo much!"
Donald got up and sat down by Louie, pulling him into a hug. "She would of loved this." Donald said smiling sadly looking at Louie. "She would have been proud of you, Louie." This time Louie almost lost it, he almost broke down in tears, but instead he let a few stray tears fall. "Thanks Uncle Donald, for everything!" His voice was kinda shaky; then he hugged back him back.
They stayed in each other's arms for a few minutes, that's until Louie's tummy growled at him, wanting food. Louie pulled from the hug and smiled sheepishly, rubbing the back of neck. "I guess my tummy couldn't wait until dinner."
"Oh that's right, I forgot that you usually don't eat lunch because of your knitting. Tell ya what, I'll cook something for us to snack on until dinner. How about.....grilled cheese!" Donald suggested. Louie smiled, then nodded. Donald got up to make the grill cheese. Louie got comfortable on the chair, and played on his phone while waiting for his 'snack' to finish.
Time skip to Webby, Dewey, and Huey
When they got out of the vents they noticed something.
"Wait? Does any of us even have any knitting supplies?!?" Webby questioned.
Dewey shook his head as to say 'no,' while Huey knew what he had to do.
He sighed and raised his hand "Yes, I have some knitting supplies in our room under my bed. I'll go get it."
"Wait, you knit too?!?" Dewey exclaimed, surprised as he pointed at Huey.
"Yea! I do I just hid it from ya'll so that none of you touched it to use it to play that game you and Webby play, 'Mummy Attack," was it?"
Dewey held up two fingers counting down, "One: it's called 'Mummy Invasion,' and TWO: you are totally right for hiding it we would have touched it." Dewey chuckled.
Huey ran out of Webby's room leaving the two in the awkward silence. "Um Dewey, are you ok?" Webby asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine, why?" He was hoping she wasn't referring to the blanket that had his moms name on it.
"Um...well....I was just wondering because I saw the way you looked at the blanket, I'm guessing you were looking at your moms name. Is something wrong?" She asked Dewey, worry all over her face, with a hint of care.
"How did she know?!?" Oh She's good!" He looked down trying not to make eye contact with the female duck. "Yea, It's just that- I just feel guilty for hiding this secret from them." he admitted, rubbing his left arm, still not making eye contact.
Webby walked up to him and put her hands on his shoulders, which made him look into her eyes. "Dewey Duck, you are keeping this secret from them for now, to protect them. You are going to tell them soon, so you don't have to worry about them being mad at you- well, ok they might be a little upset with you. But I know that they'll forgive you! And if the don't forgive you........then you......still have me." They both slightly blushed. "Also you are my best friend, and I thank you for letting me join you on this exciting journey on finding out about your mom." She pulled him into a hug, which surprised him.
He didn't know that he was her best friend? He thought Lena was? He slowly started to melt into the hug. They were like two puzzle peace's that completed each other. (hint to maybe my next BIG fanfic.) They were both blushing during the hug, never wanting to let go of each other.........that is until they heard Huey's foot steps from down the hall.
They pushed away from each other blushing like crazy. He stood in the doorway now questioning why their faces were so red and pink. "Um....are you two ok?"
"Yea!" Webby exclaimed quickly.
"Better than ok!" Dewey screamed in a way, covering his beak after.
"Oooookkkk......anyway, lets get to work." Huey walked up in front of them looking at the picture of him and his brothers on Webby's conspiracy board, and smirking about Dewey and Webby blushing. "Ahhh, Louie would love this! Their so oblivious! I'm going to take some photos, and show Louie that he missed out on his fanboying moments." Huey thought to himself slightly fanboying in the process.
While Huey was looking at the theory bored, or so they thought, Dewey and Webby glanced at each other at the same time, then averted their eyes back after noticing that the other was staring back. This made them blush more then they already had. They shook off the feeling and then turned their focus on Huey who was now facing them ready to give the plan.
After he told them the plan they all got to work on the blanket that they were knitting for Louie. Huey, of course took a few pictures along the way, because of Dewey and Webby touching each other's hands in the process of knitting, and not to mention blushing a lot whenever they'd glance at each other.
Time skip to Louie
Donald and Louie talked while eating their so called 'snack' before dinner. Then after they were finished Donald walked him out. Louie stated to walk, then stopped and turned to look back, then he ran to his Uncle and gave him a hug. "Thanks again, and Love ya!" Then he ran off, while Donald shouted 'I love you too' back.
He was standing in front of his door now about to open it, but he paused, thinking. "That's werid, I thought they'd be in our room by now? The lights aren't even on, like they never even went in the room after lunch? They would have left the lights on if they ever came in the room!" He knows this becuase, Huey would be too into his book and forget to turn off the lights. Dewey on the other hand, would run out the room and not even bother turning off the lights. He was also guilty for leaving the lights on as well, his excuse was that he was just too lazy to do so.
He shrugged then turned the knob to his room and walked into that dark place. He turned the lights on, then something unexpected happened. "SURPRISE!!!" His brothers and Webby yelled as they jumped out from behind their hiding places. Louie was taken back, not only did they scare everything out of him, but he was also confused on what was going on, and to why there was a red bag on his bed.
"GUYS?!? You almost gave me a heart attack!" Louie shouted with his hand on his chest, eyes wide.
"Sorry, we can explain you see, we were adventuring through the vents to try to prove Huey wrong on something his book said. And we stumbled upon our room, and saw that you were knitting-" Dewey was cut off by Louie.
"YOU SAW ME DOING WHAT?!?" Now Louie was freaking out. "I don't care anymore, go a head laugh at me, yea I knit!" he started to walk to the door, but Huey blocked it.
"Louie you got to listen to the rest of the story, and no we are not teasing you about kntting, that's not why we are hear." Huey explained calmly.
Louie took a step back confused, "What?" He said, calming down.
"Yea, Huey's right we aren't here to tease you. After we saw you knitting we-"
Huey cut Webby off "You mean me." Huey corrected.
Yea whatever, HUEY noticed that you were making it for you and your brothers Uncle. Is that better Huey?!?" She folded her arms and glared at him.
"Yea, much!" Huey answered back.
"Anyways......as we are trying to say, is that we came up with an idea on making you something so that you know that we won't tease you about knitting. You are really good at it and if it were just me and Webby knitting the blanket then we would of failed miserably, but we had Huey to help us since he also knits." Dewey stated.
"Wait, you knit?!?" Louie questioned Huey surprised.
"THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT!" Huey shouted.
"So yea, we made you a blanket!" Webby motioned to the red bag that was on Louie's green bed.
"It's my old bag from our 10th birthday on the houseboat. It's all I could find in shorty notice." Huey said walking over to Louie. "Oh and before I forget which I might not, but still, Debbigail had some moments so I took some pictures for ya." Huey whispered while putting his hand over his mouth so that they wouldn't hear. He also winked after.
"Awww I missed Debbigail!" Louie cried kinda loud enough for Dewey and Webby to hear.
"Um, Who's Debbigail?" Webby asked. Her and Dewey looked at each other then shrugged.
Huey tried to change the subject, "Louie why don't you open your gift."
Louie walked up to his bed and pulled out a green blanket. It was the same color as his hoodie, and it had his name on it in gold with some golden glitter on it to make it shine.
Louie finally understood how his uncle felt when he saw his blanket. Louie felt really happy and sad at the same time. He actually couldn't fight the tears this time, and he kinda didn't want to. He had no words.
"Are you ok Louie?" Dewey asked worried.
By answering his brother's question he tackled them, hugging them all in a group hug, including Webby.
"Thank you so much guys!" He cried tears of joy.
They let go of the hug, "Oh no! Remember if one of us crys, we all start crying too! Here it comes!" Huey started fanning his eyes like some girls do, trying to stop himself from crying, but it didn't work, he started to cry as well.
"Guys stop crying I don't-" It was too late, Dewey was crying now.
"I love you guys!" Louie said while his crying started to slow down.
"We love you too!" Dewey and Huey said at the same time. Then they hugged each other again, this time staying in that hugging position.
"Awwwwww!" Webby said tearing up a little. She took a picture of them in their hugging position. She whispered to herself, "Mr. Duck would love this!" Then she said in her head........
"Della would too!" She smiled enjoying the sight.
