Kai's POV

"Blue is my favourite colour too!" Lance squeals excitedly and I beam at him.

Lance is so much fun to be around! I already feel like we have so much in common, to the point where it feels like he's my long lost brother!

I've always wanted a brother. I think it would have been easier growing up with one around. That way I wouldn't have needed to deal with my mother's death all alone. I would have had a comrade, a partner in crime, someone to share the burden.

"You two look cozy," Zorander snarls, causing me to shriek at his harsh, unexpected voice, and I turn around to find him standing in the middle of the living room smirking at us.

"Where's Raziel?" I question, trying to peer around the demon to see my boyfriend. I giggle involuntarily at that word. Boyfriend. I still can't believe it! The angel Raziel is my boyfriend!

Zorander makes himself comfortable on the one seater across from Lance and me before responding. "He's watching over Declan."

I nod but pout a little. I really hope he comes back soon, not only because I miss him but because I'm trying really hard not to be intimidated by Zorander's aura. Now that I can see the thick, black silhouette fanning out from his body, he is much more terrifying. Not to mention the fact that Raziel isn't here to help balance out the suffocatingly grim feeling radiating from Zornader's body.

"Can I order food to your house while I wait?" I ask Zorander, cringing slightly at the crack in my voice.

"Are you scared, human?" Zorander snickers at the audible gulp that I take.

"I'll just order some pizza," I mumble. Trying my best to ignore the demon, I reach into my jacket pocket and pull out my phone.

"He won't hurt you, he's too scared of Raziel," Lance whispers.

"Shhhh! Don't provoke him!" I whisper back, stealing a quick glance at Zorander who is still smirking and looking at us with mild interest.

"The hollow is right. I won't hurt you but not because I'm scared of Raziel but because I'm... intrigued by Raziel's relationship with you." Zorander grunts.

I tilt my head curiously, looking at the enigma sitting across from me. "So you'll hurt me if you're no longer intrigued?"

A chilling laugh escapes Zorander and he shakes his head. "I don't think it's possible for that to happen." He shifts his attention towards Lance. "You can go by the way. Raziel can return once you do."

"Okay! I'll see you around, Kai." Lance's smile morphs into a frown and he clears his throat before speaking. "I don't want you to feel like you have to help Declan because of me. I won't hold it against you if you decide not to help him."

"It's alright. I'll listen to what he has to say." Lance nods in response before disappearing.

Suddenly, a pink flash appears in the middle of the room, quickly subsiding to leave a breathtaking Raziel standing in its wake. I gasp when I see his captivating light pink aura. "Pretty!" I can't help but exclaim as I watch his sparkling aura dancing around him. It sways and flickers as if shifting in the wind, luring me closer and letting me know that everything will be alright.

Raziel approaches me with a wide smile and starts peppering kisses all over my face making me giggle. "Did you miss me?" Raziel asks in between kisses.

I shake my head, giggling at him. "Nope," I say popping the p. Raziel pouts and I giggle and lightly press my lips to his. "Of course I did!" I say with a huge grin, practically throwing myself into his arms. I really like doing that! He always catches me and squeezes me tightly whenever I do that. It makes me feel so safe and secure.

"I don't want you to talk to Declan. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have put the burden of deciding if I should help on you, that wasn't my intention. I thought the gesture would let you know that I supported whatever you wanted to do. It's a lot to ask you to sit down with your bully. I'm sorry," Raziel mumbles mournfully against my hair, pulling me closer to his body.

What is he going on about?

"Raziel, I want to hear what he has to say. You and Lance were both willing to vouch for Declan regretting his actions so that's enough for me to at least meet him," I say once my face is no longer buried in his chest, and he smiles and strokes my hair.

I ask Zorander a few more questions about hell while we wait for our dinner. 

When the pizza arrives, we eat dinner with Zorander and I force them to watch 'Young Justice' with me. Raziel pays more attention to the pizza and snuggling with me, than the television while Zorander grumbles about watching the show but gets really invested after a few minutes. After one episode, we bid Zorander farewell before setting off to my house.

I peek at Raziel once I stop at the traffic lights to find him already smiling and looking at me. He tells me about Zorander scaring Brandon and Kyle on the way home and a tiny part of me feels bad that they were scared. After giving me an incredulous look and wondering how I could possibly be concerned for my bullies, Raziel assures me that they will be alright.

Once we arrive at the house, he kisses me good night and goes to his room. I can't say that I'm thrilled he decided to stay in the guest room instead of cuddling with me, but I don't protest. I have a quick shower and throw on a fluffy, oversized, green hoodie with white sweatpants before literally jumping into bed and letting my soft duvet swallow me.

I stare up at the ceiling thinking about our first date earlier today. Of course after the date I met a demon and a hollow for the first time but my date with Raziel outshone those by a longshot. I giggle and roll around in my bed as I replay all of our kisses in my head.

"Kai?" Raziel's voice sounds from the other side of the door causing me to smile even wider. I scurry from the duvet's grasp and stumble to the door, opening it with a bright smile on my face.

"You look so cute!" Raziel exclaims, pinching my cheeks and grinning at me.

"Ow! No! Razzy stop!" I giggle, trying to lick his hands which are glued to my face.

After a minute of me giggling and trying to lick him, Raziel releases my cheeks. "Do you mind if I sleep here?" Raziel asks hesitantly. I giggle and nod before rushing back to the bed and sinking into the covers. Raziel chuckles and joins me after closing my bedroom door.

He slides down into the bed and faces me. His warm fingertips gently brush against my cheek and he is wearing a tender smile.

Although it's late, I'm not very sleepy, so I decide to pick Raziel's brain. "Do angels usually only date other angels?"

"Such a curious human." Raziel chuckles and pecks my lips. "They're the most common bonds."

"Bond?" I inquire as my eyebrows knit together.

Raziel nods and looks thoughtful for a moment before he starts to explain. "I think a bond between two angels is like what humans call casual dating. Of course many angel on angel bonds are long lasting but quite a number of them don't last. Since there are no external consequences for breaking an angel on angel bond, some angels tend to make and break these bonds very easily. However, these are also the only type of bonds that can produce offspring.

"An angel on demon bond is considered to be a more serious relationship because either the angel or the demon has to give up their home so that they may both live together in either heaven or hell. The whole process of moving deeply affects the psyche and then that couple becomes somewhat of an outsider irrespective of where they decide to live. They garner a lot of attention since these bonds are fairly rare. These couples often end up on earth due to it being a more neutral location," Raziel explains.

"What about an angel and human bond? Do they exist?" I blurt out. I really hope they do!

Raziel chuckles again and kisses my forehead. "They do exist but I won't tell you about them right now. I don't want it to influence our relationship."

I let out a tiny huff and pout and Raziel kisses my lips until I'm grinning. Raziel answers my further questions about heaven and his life before he met me until sleep finally takes over.
