Chapter 15 - First Date

Hint of what the first date will be (well spoiler would actually be more accurate 🙈)^^

Kai's POV

"How long have you been dating Rizle?" Jax asks, biting into the chicken sandwich he got from the cafeteria for lunch.

I roll my eyes. "It's Raziel and it's new. We only officially started dating yesterday."

"So that means I still have a shot," Jax says, leaning towards me.

"I really don't appreciate your advances Jax," I say sternly, leaning away from him.

"I don't appreciate your advances either," Raziel's voice sounds from behind us.

"Raz!" I squeal, tripping as I jump up from the bench and practically fall into his arms.

Raziel chuckles and squeezes me into a hug and I breathe in his yummy cookie scent. He releases me and flashes me a magnificent smile that leaves me awestruck.

"Aren't you going to introduce us?" Jax asks and I sigh before turning around and leading Raziel back to the table. He sits next to me since Hunter graciously moved to the other side of the table.

"Raz, this is Hunter, Ayaan and Jaxon but he prefers Jax. Everyone, this is Raziel." I lean a little into Raziel's side and he draws my chair closer and drapes his hand around my waist which makes me smile.

"Are you transferring to this school?" Milan inquires.

"Yes, I start tomorrow," Raziel replies, then eats a forkful of my chicken fried rice.

"You are!" I screech and turn to him with wide eyes. He simply smiles and kisses the tip of my nose, causing me to giggle.

"If you start tomorrow, why are you here today?" Jax questions, his voice containing a hint of irritation.

Raziel glares at Jax until Jax starts to shift uncomfortably. "I had to meet the principal," Raziel says dismissively and goes back to eating my food.

"We're having a party Friday, you should come," Ayaan says to Raziel and flashes him a smile.

Raziel scowls and Jax decides to chime in. "Why be with a guy who can't even go to a party with his boyfriend."

I shoot a glare at Jax who sulks and looks away before I tug Raziel's sleeve indicating that I want him to follow me. He frowns but complies. "Did you find out if the school is safe?" I whisper once we're out of earshot.

"Yes, your principal is a demon, but he's not a threat," Raziel replies. He glances towards the table where my new friends are sitting and scowls. "I can't say I'm very fond of your new human friends."

I roll my eyes, deciding to ignore him. "Would you come to the party with me?" I already expect him to say no but it can't hurt to try.

He ponders my question for a moment. "I will, but there is something I have to do, and I would like your help."

I giggle and nod. "Anything! What is it?"

"There is someone I want you to talk to. I'll give you the details later," he replies with a smile, pulling me into his arms, and I feel him kiss the top of my head which makes me giggle.

"What do you want to eat?" I murmur against his chest.

"Burger!" Raziel mumbles, kissing my hair again.

I giggle and release him so that I can buy two burgers, some fries and apple juice, all of which we take back to the table.

"So are you coming to the party?" Jax questions, turning to Raziel who completely ignores him and continues eating.

"Jackass," Jax mutters at the same time Ayaan chuckles and says, "I would be rude too if you were hitting on my boyfriend."

Raziel looks up and gestures to Ayaan while addressing me. "I don't mind this one." I giggle and rest my head against his shoulder, stealing one of his fries.

The rest of the day goes by in a blur and now I'm exiting my final period of the day. Raziel disappeared again after lunch and I haven't seen him since.

Milan spots me on my way to the car and we talk about how excited we are for the party on Friday. When we get to the car Raziel is leaning nonchalantly against it, scowling at the humans that pass by. But when his eyes meet mine a broad smile spreads across his face and he starts walking towards me.

"Hi Kai," Raziel says and places a kiss on my cheek. "Do you want to go on a date?"

Milan giggles and waves bye saying she'll see us tomorrow.

I'm still gaping at him when he takes my hand and gently tugs me towards the car. After we get in, I turn to face him curiously.

"Do you not want to go on the date?" Raziel asks, frowning.

"Of course I do! Just wasn't expecting it," I reply, still shocked.

"This is where we're going!" Raziel pulls out a folded piece of paper from his jacket pocket and gives it to me. Curious, I unfold the paper and frown at the address indicated on the map he just handed me.

"Um, Raz are you sure?" I ask, completely puzzled. The spot marked on the map is nothing but an empty lot. Does Raziel understand the meaning of a date?

"Yes I'm sure! Let's go!" Raziel responds excitedly.

I shrug and start the car, and decide to tell Raziel about my day and my classes on our way to the lot. When we get there Raziel jumps out of the car and tells me to wait.

After a few minutes Raziel returns with some paintball guns and a wide smile on his face. An equally wide smile spreads across my face. I love paintball! Well any shooting related game! I usually go to paintball or laser tag at least once a month and I play shooting video games all the time!

"I didn't know there was a course here!" I squeal as I take the paintball guns and ammunition from Raziel.

I turn to him when he doesn't reply and he smirks at me. "So this will be a little crazy. We are going to be pursued by zombies and we have to get to the flag at the other end of the field. They're 50 of them total and we have to kill them all and grab the flag. Shooting in the head is optimal but shooting elsewhere will slow them down. These zombies move surprisingly fast so beware. If you get scared or want to stop the game any time say 'pink star'. Are you ready?"

My head is swimming with all the information he just unloaded on me. Usually you try not to shoot people in the head! But I nod anyway and Raziel pecks me on the forehead before he says in an elevated voice, "we're ready."

I feel the air around me shift and I shudder. The air suddenly feels bitter and deadly. I hear snarls coming from all around us and terror immediately seizes me. I shake my head, trying to remember that this is just a game.

I take a deep breath and signal to Raziel that we should start moving towards the flag.

I barely have enough time to shoot the zombie that jumps from behind a nearby tree but I managed to get a headshot.

The zombie looks half decayed with mangled feet and tattered clothes. There is blood dripping from its mouth and it's eyes are completely black and devoid of life. When I shoot the zombie in the head it bursts into thick, black smoke and disappears.

"This is awesome!" I whisper scream to Raziel as I shoot five more zombies.

"I thought you might like it!" Raziel replies, dodging a zombie attack and shooting it in the back of its head.

We work our way through the zombies and towards the flag, keeping track of how many we've shot.

"I see the flag but we still haven't killed one zombie. I don't see it!" I whisper to Raziel as we crouch behind an empty garbage bin. "Cover me!" I say before rushing forward towards and diving for the flag.

As I'm about to grab the flag a zombie jumps out from behind the bush and I quickly reposition myself and pull the trigger; shooting it in the head. "Razzy I did it! We did it!" I scream as I scramble to my feet and wave the flag above my head.

Raziel chuckles and approaches me. "Yes you did. You're really good at this! I thought you would fall a lot since you trip walking across flat surfaces," Raziel teases and brushes my hair out of my face.

I giggle, reach up and tug Raziel's face downwards as he places his hands on my lower back, pulling me closer to him. "This was the best date I could ever ask for," I whisper, moving my face even closer to his.

I feel Raziel's breath fan across my face as he whispers, "I'm glad you had fun." He closes the gap between our lips and I instantly moan as I feel his lips connect with mine. It feels like I'm floating and the only thing anchoring me is Raziel's embrace.

My teeth gently tug Raziel's bottom lip eliciting a throaty moan from him. I breathe in his addictive smell which envelops me like a warm, fluffy blanket. I slip my tongue in Raziel's mouth and one of his hands slides up my back and tangles in the back of my hair trying to push our mouths even closer together.

His tongue explores my mouth; ever so often colliding against my own and sending shivers down my spine. Our mouths move together as if they were perfectly crafted just for each other.

I pull away from Raziel gasping for breath, his breathing also coming quickly. He grins at me and I beam at him. Time seems to stop as we stare into each other's eyes trying to catch our breath.

"Raz?" I eventually say; a puzzled look on my face. "How did you get the zombies to disappear into black smoke?"

"Finally! I thought you'd never ask!" An exasperated voice says from behind me.
