30- Wedding Day
When Ryker and Talia got back from Austin, Talia couldn't wait to go see her parents and tell them the news about their engagement, this time for real. They hadn't set a date, both argued on when to get married, she wanted to wait until after the baby was born and he wanted to just do it right away. He won, for a couple months Talia went out dress shopping with Andrea and Salina, she wasn't happy with anything that she found, she was already at her sixth month in pregnancy and felt all the dresses were ugly.
Talia came home, walking past Ryker and headed towards the bedroom. Ryker cocked his head when she walked by not even saying hi. He got up and walked into the bedroom, she was laying on the bed with her hands on her stomach staring at the ceiling.
"Bad day?" He asked, thinking he should have said something else. She rolled her head towards him giving him the stink eye. "I guess that would be a yes."
"Are you sure you can't wait until after the baby is born to get married? Every dress I look at are just terrible, we've been to.. I don't even know how many stores in the past couple months, but I cannot find that perfect dress."
"I really would like to be married before the baby is born, I really want my last name for you to be on that birth certificate, there has to be a dress out there."
Talia sighed, she knew he was right, it would look better for the child to show that they they were married before he or she was born. "Fine.. you win again, I guess I'll have to see what store we haven't been to in the 100 mile radius that we have been shopping."
"I would say for you to let me take you, but I already know the answer to that one." He smirked.
"You're not taking me, besides your not suppose to see your bride in her wedding dress before you get married.... finally I win." She teased.
That night Talia went online looking at dresses and to see if they had missed any stores. She finally saw a store that they hadn't been to and called Andrea to see if she would like to check it out the next day.
The next day Talia and Andrea took a drive and visited the store they had missed, they both searched the maternity section. Andrea would pull a dress out to show her, only for Talia to turn her nose up. "Come on let's go." Talia said feeling discouraged.
"Wait, did you see this one yet?" Andrea asked when Talia started walking away, turning to see what she was talking about she headed back towards Andrea.
"No." She said with wide eyes "No, I missed this one." She liked what she saw and took it to the dressing room, she put it on and called for Andrea.
"Is it OK?" Andrea asked outside the door.
"Is it OK? It's not only OK, it's perfect!" She said in awe as she opened the door to show her. "I love it, and the best part is, I can wear it right now where it won't need to be tailored."
"Ryker will love it." Andrea said smiling, having her turn around slowly.
"He better, he's the one insisting on getting married right now instead of after the baby is born."
Andrea placed her hands on Talia's shoulders and looked her in the eyes "Well he has a point."
"I know, and it's a good point. I just never imagined getting married while I was pregnant, I didn't want to look like a whale in my wedding dress, but I do like the way this dress doesn't make you look that way." Andrea smiled, she took the dress off and took it to the counter to pay for it.
"All set?" The cashier asked.
"Yep." She says handing her, her credit card.
"We have free tailoring if you need it."
"Nope, won't need it, it fits perfect as it is. I was getting a little nervous since we're getting married this weekend."
The cashier gave her funny look while she rang her up, "Yea I know, don't even say it." Talia laughed.
Once they left, they decided that they wanted to go see a movie, something to finally relax and enjoy themselves before Talia lives the married life and has her baby.
*******
Four days later..
It was their wedding day, Talia had awoken early not wanting Ryker to see her before they got married, she also wanted to get over to her mother's to get ready being that they were getting married in the church by her parents home.
She quickly showered and put on a pair of yoga pants and one of Rykers large T-shirts, she sprinted over to Ryker kissing his cheek "I love you, see you later." She whispered. He gave her a side smirk, but before he could open his eyes she dashed out of there, grabbing her things and headed over to her moms.
Talia walked into her parents home when she arrived, meeting her dad as she walked in the kitchen "Morning dad." She smiled while giving him a hug.
"Morning my dear." He hugged her back, holding her tight. "I cannot believe this day has finally come, and the best part about it is that I'll be able to be a part of it."
She leaned back and grinned "Well you can thank your future son in law for that." She winked at him "Where's mom?"
"She's waiting for you in the spare room."
Talia stood on her tippie toes and gave her dad a kiss, she then headed to the spare room. She walked in and saw her mom sitting on the bed with a Kleenex in hand blowing her nose.
"Why are you crying?" She asked sitting down on the bed next to her.
"I was thinking about things, thinking about you growing up, thinking about how you grew into a beautiful woman. And then it hit me-"
"What hit you?" Talia interupted.
"It hit me; that I'm actually here, that I'm here to witness you getting married, that about seven months ago I thought I was dead and would never see you again. I feared for my life and worried more about you and Salina than I did myself. I'm still here, and not only will I be here for your wedding, I'll be here for when my grandchild is born."
"Ah mom." She placed her arm around her, and held her. "Well I'm glad that you both are here, I don't want to think about that awful time of our lives, and what dad did I have put that behind me."
Amelia blew her nose and smiled "OK that's enough of the sad talk, we have to get you ready."
Amelia left the room to get Salina, while she was getting Salina, Talia had changed into her dress. Amelia walked back into the room and started tearing up when she saw Talia in her dress.
"I could use a little help buttoning up the back." She asked holding the dress, and turning her back to her mom.
"I like the dress." Amelia said after buttoning her dress.
"Me too, I finally found it the other day." She giggled, embarrased.
Amelia shook her head at her, Salina finally came in the room with her hair supplies, for the next couple hours Salina had put curls in her hair and pulled it up and back.
Andrea had shown up while Talia was getting her hair done, and had Salina do hers when she was done with Talia. "Thank God I did my hair before I had done all of yours, I never would have gotten my own hair done." Salina joked.
"You look beautiful." Andrea said to Talia. "Are you ready for this?" She asked after she looked at the time.
"More than ready."
At the church Ryker was there with Clint and Marcus, and his parents had flown in that morning from Florida. Clint noticed Andrea pulling in and grabbed Ryker so he couldn't see Talia when she got out.
"Clint, what are you doing?" He asked as he was being pulled away.
"Your bride to be just arrived, you can't see her yet."
Marcus followed behind, he was excited to see Salina and had hoped to get a dance in with her later in the evening.
Talia headed for the church's get ready room, making sure she looked perfect. She was then starting to get a little nervous. She wasn't much for being in front of many people and being the center of attention.
Andrea and Clint were talking outside the room, making sure everyone made their way into the church and to the pews, before grabbing Talia.
Marcus peeked his head out giving them a thumbs up, letting them know that they were ready for Talia.
Arlo knocked on the door, opening the door to see his daughter and to walk her down the aisle. "It's time." He said giving her a hug. "You're the most beautiful bride that I have seen in a long time, last one I saw was your mother." He grinned taking her arm in his.
Arlo proudly walked her down the aisle, and handed her off to Ryker, shaking his hand before he sat down. Ryker couldn't help but smile, he thought she was so beautiful and shed a couple happy tears seeing her walk down the aisle.
While the priest was talking, Ryker kept thinking about how he wanted to take her dress off already and make love to his wife. It finally came to exchanging their vows, the priest then had Ryker repeat the vows after him, and then Ryker through in a few vows of his own.
"I have to catch my breath, especially after seeing you walk down the aisle, I have to blink a few times to make sure that this is real, that I'm marrying my true love, my hearts desire and my best friend. I love that you and I will spend the rest of our lives together. Somehow my life has come to this amazing moment and now I will always share it with you." He then placed her ring on her finger, he was about to kiss her until he was stopped by Talia, pressing her fingers on his lips "Not yet, I have to read my vows." She whispered while smiling.
"Oh yea." He grinned, whispering.
The priest then had her repeat her vows after him, and then she said her special vows for Ryker.
"When you walked into my life, love walked in. It was a moment that I'll treasure and cherish forever with you. I also want you to know that I knew that I loved you from the moment you first kissed me at the bar shocking me. It was a kiss I'll always remember. I have been lost in your eyes ever since. Our love will bind us together through all of time, and I promise to be true to you, you're a special person, loving, kind, and everything I had always dreamed of having for a husband. Our child soon to be born and our future children will be lucky to have you as their father."
She placed his ring on his finger, both of them holding each others hand and looking at the priest waiting for the go ahead to kiss each other.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife, Ryker you may kiss your bride."
"Finally." He smiled pulling her in for a kiss, a kiss that was long and so passionate it took her breath away. He pulled back and growled rolling his tongue while smiling.
He took her hand and raised it in the air cheering that they were finally married. While they walked the aisle he stopped her picking her up and carried her out.
They stood outside the doors and thanked everyone for coming as they walked out, shaking hands and giving hugs to their friends and families.
"What do you say we skip the reception and just head straight over to the hotel?" Ryker asked Talia after they were finished thanking everyone for being there.
"Ryker..."
"Talia..." he begged, pulling her in for another kiss. "I just want you all to myself for the rest of the night."
