In the Country of Therasus, two powerful royal houses, the Xiones and Zywan families, reign supreme. Emperor Serox Xiones, head of the Xiones family, presides over matters in the grand conference room of Xiones Castle. Meanwhile, his daughter Sterlla awaits the arrival of her guests in the castle gardens, where she is joined by her brother, Simore. The siblings discuss their adopted sister, Sigel, who was taken in by their parents after being abandoned by her original family. Flashbacks reveal Sigel's troubled past and her eventual adoption by the Xiones family. The chapter concludes with Sigel preparing for her official announcement as a member of the royal family.

Sigel’s true nature is soon revealed when she lashes out at Adena, the head maid and a member of the military, demanding that Adena relinquish her position to serve Sigel exclusively. Seeking justice, Adena appeals to Emperor Serox, leading to a tense meeting where Sigel deceives everyone into believing her innocence. Later, during a picnic, Sterlla is poisoned and falls into a coma, miraculously awakening three days later. As the royal family returns to their duties, Sterlla continues to face assassination attempts, with poison-laced tea being the repeated method. Linone takes it upon himself to investigate the matter, but the assassin persists with the same tactic, leaving the family on edge.
