Eri's school,
After school...

Eri's POV

Finally! School ends! I can't wait to see my baby siblings!

I packed my belongings in to my red backpack while humming a lullaby. I still remembered the lullaby Mommy kept singing to me back when I was still... Imprisoned there. It was a bitter memory. But everything was all in the past. The past that I had moved on from.

I looked outside the window. The sky was clear, the weather was nice. It was really sunny today. The forecast lady on the television wasn't lying, I guess. Probably today was gonna be sunny all day, like she stated.

Maybe I will ask Kouchan to play with me today.

"Wait, Chisaki! Where do you think you are going, you cursed creature!"

A girl's voice filled with venom roared at me angrily. I confusedly shifted my gaze to a group of girls -- my classmates -- who seemed quite angry for some odd reasons.

"Do you need something?"

I asked, tilting my head in perplexity. Staring at her face silently waiting for her to speak up again. I think my action made it worse because she looked angrier than before.

"You are such a dumb girl, you know! Someone as pathetic as you shouldn't befriend a boy as amazing as Izumi-kun!"

"Yeah! Stay away from him! You will just hurt him with your cursed Quirk!"

"Cursed monster! Cursed monster!"

The girls began insulting me with mean nickname. I stayed quiet, giving them no reaction. "But, this 'cursed creature' here is loved by Kouchan. Kouchan loves me the most." I started, walking closer to them. They backed away in disgust when I approached them.

"Wanna know? Kouchan once told me there was a group of dumb girls at school he hated so much he wanted to drown them in the river. I think that group he mentioned is you girls." I mustered a small smile for them. I could see the girls shiver all of a sudden. Their reaction made me mentally smile wide.

"So, insult me as you wish, bully me as much as you want, call me with various mean nicknames. But Kouchan won't ever spare even a glance at you girls because..."

"You guys are the real monsters he doesn't want to see. You guys disgust the living daylight out of him."

My smile widened when I uttered those words while I close my eyes in joy. I heard them gasping in shock. I could even hear sniffling coming from the girls.

"You girls are the dumb kids he doesn't want to befriend with, not me. So you are belittling yourselves. I am not involved. Because Kouchan is my friend, that make me the most amazing girl in school. And you girls are just a bunch of extras." I shrugged my shoulders. Some of them had started crying quietly.

Wow. I couldn't believe the tricks Daddy and and his friends taught me work out this well. Tricks to deal with bullies....

One day, the former Yakuzas had come to visit us. I happened to be home while Mommy and my little siblings were out shopping.

"Eri, what is wrong? You seem upset." Setsuno-san asked me. Some of the former Yakuzas came to visit us today.

"... I'm dealing with bullies at school..." I answered quietly. All of the adults stared at each other. Suddenly, Setsuno-san stood up. "Alright, name them all. I will hunt them down and kill--"

"U-um, no need to resort to violence... I just want some tips to deal with them..." I stopped him. These men were dangerous sometimes.

"Well, we have some tips." Daddy spoke up from the kitchen as he brought a tray full of six cups of green tea for us and our guests. He picked me up from the couch and sat me down on his lap. I leaned my head on his chest, heaving out a deep sigh.

"So, I guess these bullies are the girls who craze over your dearest boyfriend, right, Eri?" Daddy narrowed his eyes at me, seeming displeased by his own thoughts. I blushed at what he said.

"Kouchan isn't my boyfriend!" I denied. Why did people keep misunderstanding our friendship? Though, I actually have a crush on him in secret...

"But yeah... They are the girls who like Kouchan. They are being more mean lately. I don't know what to do. I don't want to rely on Kouchan all the time." I expressed out my problem. Daddy patted my head. Kurono-san then stated,

"You know, if they insult you, then you gotta insult them back. But in a more brutal way that will move them to tears."

After that, Setsuno-san continued, "Smile at them "kindly" while roasting them. That will scare the living daylight out of them."

Tengai-san added more, "Don't let those imbeciles creatures bring you down. Come out strong and they will surely stop picking on you, Eri-san."

Nemoto-san silently agreed with everything they said. "Brag about your possessions. The advantages you have in your life. Something that they never own or have."

"CALL THEM EXTRAS! People who bully you have no place in this freaking goddamn earth! THEY WORTH NOTHING!" Irinaka-san screeched at us angrily. I nodded my head in understanding.

Daddy then gestured me to look at him. "Well, if they still won't back down, know that I will find their parents and sue them, sweetheart. Maybe blow them too..."

"Alright! Thank you Daddy, everyone!"

"Kouchan is waiting for me. See you girls again tomorrow~" I walked away from the group, leaving them in tears. Honestly, I didn't feel even a shred of pity for them. They started first, they deserved this.

On their way home,
In the neighbourhood area..

"You seriously did that? Ri-chan, that is awesome! You roasted them good!"

"Maybe. They shed tears just now so I will take that as my win!"

"Great. Now they know they mess with the wrong person."

"This is all thanks to my Daddy and his friends giving me tips to deal with bullies! They work out well!"

"I only deal with bullies by beating them up. My way is easier."

"Kouchan, I'm not as strong as you. And I don't know how to fight... Plus, I hate violence."

"That is so like you, Ri-chan."

The two of us went on with chatting about our days. Since we both were in different class, we could only see each other during lunchbreak or after school. That is why, I treasure the time and use this precious moment wisely.

"Oh, hey! There is an ice-cream stand there! Why don't we get some ice-creams?" I pointed to an ice-cream stand not far away from us. Kouchan turned to the stand and his eyes widened in surprise. "Yeah! I'm hungry so let's get some!" He grinned big at me.

The seller must be new around this area. There is no ice-cream stand before. Now we don't need to go to the store that is quite far from our home! Yay!

The two of us skidded toward the ice-cream stand. We took a look at the ice cream list. My favourite strawberry flavour was there!

"I want the strawberry flavor!"

"I want the vanilla one."

After ordering, the red cap-wearing seller scooped our ice-cream into two cones. I eagerly bounced up and down, eyes glimmering with excitement.

"You are like a kid, you know."

"I am a kid after all!"

We giggled gleefully as we waited for the ice-cream. "Here are your ice-cream..." The seller said, sounding unusually intimidating. His familiar husky voice sent shivers down to my spine. I looked at Kouchan. He had the same concern expression on his face.

I nervously took the ice-cream cones from the man's hand. Out of the blue, I felt dizzy. The cone fell off my and. Before I could process everything that happened.

Darkness swallowed my whole being.
