CHAPTER 23

(Edited)

I was so thankful that Ashton let me borrow his car, without asking any questions. Kate, on the other hand, was getting on my freaking nerves; she wanted details as to why we were going to the pharmacy. The funny thing was, no one even invited her to come. I'm being mean! I was just slightly irritated because even though I bought the meds, I did not have a chance to take them with her around. I didn't have an issue with Kate; it was just that I couldn't answer all her questions.

Finally, the end of the school day arrived, and I was happy to get the heck out of here. I met Emily and the rest of the gang outside in the courtyard, standing around. I went and stood next to Emily, who was busy typing a message. I looked around and found Michael and Ashton with our bags at their feet. Emily said that Mason, Jason and Kate went to fetch the hippy Van for our trip and took Michaels car with them to their house. After ten minutes, or so they came back, and we stood around waiting for something.

"What are we waiting for?" I asked no one in particular. Ashton glanced my way, and a pained expression was written all over his face. Before I could ask him if he was okay, he looked away. That bothered me a lot. Was he angry with me? What did I do?

Nobody answered my question, but it was unnecessary because a car pulled over and Cassie got out of it with a bag in her hand, she waved goodbye to someone and approached us. Ashton met her with the biggest smile I've seen on his face all day. They kissed, and she greeted everyone. She smiled at me but before I could say anything my phone, started ringing. I pulled it out and froze, that number made my blood run cold. Everyone was staring at me as if I grew a second head for not answering it. I shot Emily a nervous look and accepted the call a few feet away from everyone.

"Halo," I stuttered. I looked up and found Michael staring at me intently. His voice broke through the speaker, skyrocketing my heartbeat.

"You better not show up at the house this weekend. If you do, you're going to wish you were never born." With that, he ended the call. I turned around and kept the phone to my ear. I needed a few seconds to calm myself down. Finally returning, I explained that my mom wanted to make sure I had everything. It seemed everyone believed me except Emily and Michael; no surprise there.

Sitting for the past hour in a car with two idiots that wouldn't shut up, was driving me insane. I was so close to strangling Ashton thirty minutes ago that Emily had to pull me back and hold me in place. I usually didn't mind their childish behaviour, but this was too much. They had been jumping up and down in their seats asking, 'Are we there yet, are we there yet' the entire time. I was feeling snappy and irritated with everyone. I blamed it on the fact that the pills hadn't kicked in yet, and if they didn't soon, I was going to lose it.

I pulled my earphones out of my bag and listened to some music. I admired my surroundings whilst ignoring the two kids we brought along. Michael and Jason sat in the front taking turn driving; Jason was driving now. Behind them sat Ashton, Mason and Cassie; bless her heart for not killing them both. Emily, Kate and I sat behind them.

"Hey, Mikey,£ Mason said, poking his arm. Michael ignored him.

"Hey, Mikey." Mason poked him five times.

Michael gritted his teeth out of frustration. "What?"

Mason ran his hand through Michaels hair and grabbed one of his black curls, twisting it around his finger. Michael tried moving forward, out of his reach, he looked absolutely uncomfortable.

"When are you getting a haircut?" he asked finally. Michael growled, swearing at him.

Mason gasped. "Watch your language. There are girls in the Van and Ashton is the most sensitive one of them all."

The whole Van burst into a guffaw of laughter, myself included. Ashton didn't think it was funny and smacked Mason upside the head; so hard that his forehead smacked against Jason's headset.

"You asshat that hurt!" Mason exclaimed with a pout. Mason leaned forward and started to play with Jason's hair.

"Don't even think about it!" Jason warned. Mason leaned back in his seat, pouting like a little child, everyone laughed at him.

After that, the car got silent again, but it only lasted five minutes. "I spy with my little eye." I heard Ashton say before I cranked up the volume to maximum and closed my eyes.

Thirty minutes later, I opened my eyes again to realize something purely satisfying. Not only did I get a nap and my pills kicked in, but Ashton and Mason fell asleep. It was the cutest sight ever, but Autumn plus annoying boys equal revenge. I took my phone and sent Michael a text.

Autumn: Are Ashton and Mason heavy sleepers?

I looked at him reading it, and instead of replying, he turned around looking at me curiously. I raised my eyebrows questioningly, and he nodded.

Jerk: What are you planning?

I ignored him and send a message to Cassie asking for her sharpie.

"Why do you want it?" She asked, rather loudly. I hissed at her to be quiet and took it from her.

Everyone was staring at me, eyes filled with curiosity. Michael smirked realizing what I wanted to do and chuckled. I leaned forward and chose to do Ashton first. He was sleeping with his head on Cassie's shoulder. I took the sharpie and drew on his face trying my best to not wake him up. When I finished with him, I moved over to Mason. Everyone was holding their mouths with their hands to smother their laughter. Mason started to move, and my heart stopped. Bags! Abort mission!

"I need to use the bathroom." He mumbled in his sleep.

I grabbed the warm bottle of water lying on the ground and aimed for his nether region. "You are in the bathroom," I whispered in his ear while spilling the water on his pants. A satisfied smile formed on his lips. I was struggling to breathe from holding my laughter in to long my eyes were watering. I drew on Mason's face as well and then took pictures of them both, sending it to Michael.

Autumn: [Pictures] Post them!

Jerk: [Smirking] with pleasure ;-)

We drove for about ten more minutes when Jason stopped and told everyone to get the F-out. I ignored his foul language and slapped Ashton and Mason, waking them up. I grabbed my bag and a few other things and followed the rest to the area where we would be camping at.

"What the actual F-" I heard Mason and Ashton yell at the same time. We walked back to get more stuff and found them glaring at each other.

"You did this!"

"I did this? You did this!" They ran towards each other, screaming a battle cry. They slammed hard on the floor, punching one another. We were laughing so hard; I almost peed my pants. They looked comically.

"You're mad because I called you a girl," Mason shouted, swinging. "You drew a dick on my face and made it look like I wet my pants." Mason punched him in the stomach. "You're such a prick!"

Ashton retaliated by punching him in the jaw. "Don't talk smack. You're the one that started this by drawing a dick on my face." He yelled, pushing him over.

I wonder if they had any common sense. Ashton knew that he didn't do anything to Mason, but instead of saying that he made more trouble. How funny. When it looked like they had almost beaten each other to a bloody pulp; Michael and Jason decided to intervene.

"Cut the crap the both of you. You're grown-ass men!" Michael yelled, with authority, while Jason pulled them apart.

That ended too quickly for my liking. "Mason that's actual pee!" I pointed out, obviously lying. Mason jumped on Ashton again, and I chuckled, walking away.

Michael glared at me. "Not helping!" he exclaimed.

"It was never my intention." I winked.

We sat up our camp in the middle, a few feet away from the deck, and started a fire. Michael and Jason were still busy with the boys while us girls did all the work. This place put a smile on my face; it was so peaceful.

"So, here's the thing," Ashton started while approaching us. He didn't look too beaten up, which meant that Mason couldn't throw a punch. "I'm going to share a tent with Cassie, which means that Mason has to share with Emily and Autumn with Michael." He explained, looking at me as if waiting for my reaction.

Before I could react, Emily did it for me. "What the hell? Why can't Mason share with Michael?" I knew she only asked for my sake. I could see she was giddy on the inside.

"Michael's tent wasn't made for two grown-ass men," Mason informed her, scowling.

"No, it was made for one grown-ass man and a little woman. So you should fit perfectly." She snapped back.

The guys chuckled, but Mason's face fell, her reaction hurt him. It looked like he really liked Emily and what she said hurt him. I grabbed her hand and gave her a weak smile.

"Are you okay with this?" she whispered. I looked over at Michael, who was glaring at Ashton. Ashton stood with his arm on Cassie's shoulder looking smugly. Sabotage!

"I have to be."
