Jace's POV:

'Jace?'

'Yes dad?'

'Are you with your mate now?'

'Yup! Why?'

'Both of you better get back to your own packs now. We have a important and serious issue... which concerns everyone. '

'It's that serious? '

'Code red...or maybe...white.'

'Fuck. Okay. I'll be back asap. '

'Good.'

"Love?"

"Yes Jace?" She stared at me innocently with those big eyes of hers. I can just stare at her forever.

"We have to go pack to our packs now. Something extremely bad happened." Worry and fear flashed through her eyes as her heart beat quickly.

"Did anyone... die?"

"I have no idea and I definitely don't wish that happened but we just have to go back to find out. "

"Okay. I'll see you again?"

"Of course my love."

"Pinky promise?"

"Pinky promise." Leaning down to capture her lips, the world around us froze. Nothing else mattered to us in that moment. The way our lips fit perfectly together and the way our tongues danced gracefully together proves that we are made for each other. This is the best feeling ever and I'll treasure it.

"So...until next time?" Ashley whispered softly as we pulled away slowly and unwillingly.

"Yes my love. I love you."

"I love you too. Bye." Throwing herself into my embrace for the last time, she shifted into her beautiful wolf before sprinting off like the wind. So silently and so smoothly. Thats my girl.

Shifting into my own wolf, I dashed back to my pack to see everyone assembled together in the conference room. Is it really that...bad?

"Sigh....Since everyone is here already, I'll make the announcement now." Dad stared into my eyes with what seems like fear and pain.

"As you all know, your Luna is a witch right?" Everyone nodded as dad released a deep sigh.

"Apparently, the witches on the dark side are working together with rogues to try and overcome us and to take over the world. Most of you won't think that it's a big deal but we are outnumbered by them. If we don't win the war...we all die." Gasps erupted from everyone as they started to panic as fear consumed them whole. To be honest, I'm afraid too. We never had battles with witches so we won't know what or how they will attack or who will even be working with them.

"How long do we have until then, Alpha?" One of the elders asks as everyone stared at Dad, afraid of his answer which I believe will ruin everyone's mood.

"A month."

"You mean the full moon?" The full moon? That is bad...

"Yes. As everyone knows, we are the weakest in the full moon, making us vulnerable and helpless even in our wolf forms."

"Are we all going to die?"

"Yes or no...its up to fate. Most probably we will survive, most probably washed away by darkness...no one knows. Thats why starting tomorrow, all those who are willing to fight, gather in the training ground tomorrow morning at 4. Those not fighting, prepare whatever is needed for those who need to seek shelter. Got it?"

"Yes Alpha!" Everyone chorused as they dismissed back to their own rooms, hoping to catch up and live to the fullest with their mates and family.

"Son..."

"So it's inevitable? " He sighs deeply as he places his hand on my shoulder lightly, in a comforting way.

"I wish it was."

"Where's mum?"

"Ringing up as many of her relatives and allies as possible, hoping that they would help us."

"Then for the our side?"

"Oh, that is done by your mate's pack."

"So they know about this?"

"What do you think? We invited them to talk about this and not to play dress up or hide and seek!"

"How would I know...I won't be surprised if you all actually did those stuffs..."

"Are you calling us childish?! "

"No, you called yourself childish. I did not say anything. "

"Jerk..."

"If I'm a jerk, you are a larger jerk because you are my dad."

"Urghh! Whatever. I have no time to waste here. Go and spend as much time as you can with your mate. You might not have much time to spend with her after training starts."

He smiles lightly before exiting the conference room to find mum.

One month huh...one month....

Ashley's POV:

"What?! Why? Why after one problem is fixed, another greater one rises?! Can't I ever have a peaceful time with my mate?"

"Calm down love. We also don't wish for such things to happen but we can't help it or even stop it."

"Calm down?! I didn't even get to enjoy life with my mate and now you say that we are all most probably going to get killed?!.I can't believe this. This is outrageous. "

"Sigh....I know how you feel love and me too wishes the best for you but if you want to live with your mate till the end, you must work hard with everyone else to achieve victory. "

"Yes, I know that but what if we don't get out of it? I haven't even get to spend as much time with Jace like you and mum! I don't want to die young..."

"We can't stop what's inevitable but we can try to stop it from destroying us."

"Okay then. I'll fight with you all."

"No! You and your mum will stay with the rest of those who are not fighting. "

"No! I will not be a coward and hide! I will fight along with all of you! "

"Fine! Training. Tomorrow. Morning. "

"Yes sir!"

"Sigh...go and find your mate. I believe you will want to spend as much time as him."

"Yeah...love you daddy."

"Love you too baby girl. Forever."

"Forever. "

"Now run along. Go find your mate."

After suffocating my dad in my monster hug, I shifted into my wolf and skipped off to find Jace.
