Set in a small imaginary town of Bhairava with all that true accents and local specialities, the story has Ram Sharma ( Kapoor) an average student from a middle class Hindu family who falls head over heels in love with a beautiful girl named Sahiba (Chopra). Hailing from a wealthy and influential Muslim family, Sahiba is in effect at the other end of the lifestyles that Ram owns, who with his poor family, and leftist ideals are at impossible odds for a love and happy life with Sahiba. But the surprise comes in the form of no big conflicts, as all of a sudden we realize that Sahiba, with a modern outlook living in an orthodox household is also smitten by love for Ram for no particular reasons.

Falling in love was wasy but to handle the conflict arising out of this inter-caste relationship was tough.
