Wattpad Rules Over the World-July 28th, 2019

Chapter 1

Welcome to my first chapter of My Dreams. I have some weird dreams guys so enjoy!

This dream took place in a world where Wattpad became more popular than YouTube. Like wayyyy more popular. You would expect that that would mean over a million reads would equal millions of subscribers, but no. A million subscribers on YouTube is equivalent to 10k reads on Wattpad. And so starts my dream.

My mind was flipping through news channels like a movie. All the news reporters were saying that Wattpad was the new hottest thing and YouTubers, in order to keep their fame and money, quickly switched over to Wattpad thinking it would be easy to gain lots of reads quickly because of their fame. But no.

Since everyone in the world was getting onto to Wattpad it should've been easier to get lots of reads, but because everyone wanted so many reads and they wanted everyone else to not have a lot of reads, no one read other people's books. No one could get reads. Actually, getting a read one day would be totally amazing, the same as getting 100k subscribers in one day.

In real life, one of my books (the Parker and Val one) has over 10k reads. So technically I was famous. But I was not. I did not want that fame because I would prefer to get famous on any site by my hard work. That book is really bad and 10k readers is not a lot at all so I didn't think of it as anything.

So I kept it a secret. No one knew I was the author of that book. The author's on Wattpad that have like 75m reads should've been more famous than me, but because everyone didn't know who I was, everyone was obsessed with finding out my identity.

It got harder and harder everyday, having to keep it all a secret. I'd always want to tell my best friends but before I could, they'd always be talking about Wattpad and how they have over 10k reads and how if that stupid author (me) would just reveal their identity, then they would get famous easy. That always discouraged me from telling them.

Then one day, I was reading a book on Wattpad and I was about to comment something. Someone behind me gasped so loud I fell off the bench I was sitting on and threw my phone backwards. The person behind me caught it and went straight to my profile.

Their eyes went wide as I snatched my phone away. I started begging him to not tell anyone I was the mysterious author. He then started saying he would tell everyone because he used to be a famous beauty guru on YouTube and then everyone went to Wattpad and he lost his clout, so now he hates everyone on Wattpad.

I went home and immediately saw myself on the news. I could see pictures of me all over the tv. I was viral. Everyone was talking about how they had finally found the mysterious author. My dad told me everything would be alright. But no.

The next day I went to school and everyone was either trying to be my friend or glared at me. My friends were all ignoring me and talking about me being a liar on the group chat as if I wasn't there. The teachers all fangirled over my existence and offered to give me an automatic A for my "hard work". I politely declined, and so the students that hated me started whispering about how "humble" I was.

The day was terrible. It was exactly what I didn't want to happen; exactly the reason why I didn't want anyone to know I was that author. A bunch of cameras walked up to me and asked me why I kept it a secret for so long. I said because I didn't want the attention, and ran away. Then people started gathering around me and it suffocated me. Literally. I passed out.

And then I woke up.
