Chapter 13

So last night in my neighborhood, we had a blackout. I am terrified of blackouts. It's not a thing of being afraid of the dark, but being afraid of darkness that I can't control.

I called a friend who, thankfully, happened to be awake at midnight, so I was fine. Until my phone died and I couldn't use that as a flashlight anymore.

I found an actual flashlight and used that for the rest of the night but I was too terrified. Even when the power went back on I didn't go to sleep.

So I don't have a dream I can write about today because I didn't go to sleep last night.
