I was living in a small shack in the middle of nowhere. I lived with a few other survivors. Today was hunting day, meaning we have to go into town and loot everything. A few days ago we had found a young Indian boy wandering among the streets so we brought him home. We also decided to take him with us today. I was going this time to learn how to hunt. It was me, the boy, a man, and a woman. We headed out through the fields to our destination.
Once we arrived we strode toward the closest building only to be ambushed by at least a dozen zombies. We tried to fight them but there were too many of them. The man told us to run as the woman already got bit. Two seconds later the man was tackled to the floor and torn apart. The boy and I raced back home but there was one blocking our path. There was no room to swerve around it so the boy sacrificed himself and threw himself on the zombie. I stood there in horror for a few seconds before continuing to run home.
As I was running I heard loud moans behind me and turned around to see the boy running at me. He was really pale and had black around his eyes. He was one of them. He was also really fast! I picked up the pace and lost him in the fields. I was panting by the time I reached the cabin. The two others were there waiting for me.
"Where is the rest of them?" I just shook my head as I was too tired to speak. She nodded solemnly and let me in. I looked outside and saw the boy wandering about the backyard. I then noticed him walking toward one of the tiny shacks that held the darkest secrets known to mankind. He opened it, releasing a shadowy flying figure. It went straight toward us. I ran back inside and up the stairs. It was a dead end. I tried to go back down but was scooped up by the devil and carried around. He then dropped me outside and I realized that I could've just died. I raced back outside and got on my stomach, and crawled beside a garden box which had just enough height for me to go unnoticed. Someone else joined me. The demon spotted them and flew over to us. I silently cursed them for giving away my hiding spot before running off.
Then I woke up.
