Narrator's Pov

Taehyung 's gaze was now glaring at the 2 boys standing in front of him as they have their gaze lowered. JB, mark and youngjae have already left, leaving them some space for discussion.

"Do you guys really want to leave Areum?" Taehyung sternly asked with his gaze fixed on them.

"We really want to become a human." Jungkook softly replied as he raise his head up to meet Taehyung's dark gaze.

Seeing how intimating Taehyung is, Jungkook nervously gulped his non-existence saliva before breaking away from his gaze.

Taehyung slightly nodded his head. "I have decided to stay beside Areum. I hope you guys can follow my decision."

"Why do we have to follow you?" Jimin suddenly spoke, earning Taehyung's attention as his gaze shift to Jimin who was looking annoyed.

"We ourselves also have things that we want to do." Jimin firmly continued while staring straight into Taehyung's gaze, showing no sign of backing down.

Taehyung let out a frustrated sigh before biting his lips as he stare at the two boys in front of him.

"If we leave Areum...  she will die..." Taehyung blurted, hopping that they will change their mind.

"Don't all humans die?" Jimin scoffed with a smirk plastered on his face.

"What? Say that again." Taehyung gritted his teeth in anger as he could feel his anger boiling after hearing what Jimin said. He clench his fist tightly, hopping to suppress himself from bursting.

"Eventually Areum will die. So why cant we jus-"

Before Jimin could continue his sentence, Taehyung's fist immediately came flying and landing onto Jimin's face causing Jimin to stumble back in pain. Jungkook's eyes immediately widen in shock as he quickly rush towards Taehyung and grabbed his arms to prevent him from punching Jimin.

Jimin's hand slowly moved towards his face, touching his swollen lips. Daggers were shooting out from his eyes as Taehyung and Jimin glared at each other in anger.

"If you are not following my decision then let me be." Taehyung spitting in fiery, veins were clearly seen on his neck as he struggle to get out of Jungkook's hold. However, Jungkook do not want to let go. He didn't want to see any of his hyungs to be injured.

"Let go of me!" Taehyung burst before successfully freeing himself from Jungkook's arms.

Taehyung quickly head towards Jimin and threw another punch at him. Unfortunately Jimin managed to dodge his punch before kicking his stomach causing Taehyung to fall onto the ground backwards. Taehyung groaned in pain while clutching his stomach as he managed to get up. However the pain didn't stop him as Jimin and Taehyung continued to throw punches and kicks at each other.

Youngjae, Mark and JB soon came out from their hiding spots as they silently watched the three guys fighting in pain.

"Wow those guys are really scary!" Youngjae whisper towards Mark and JB as he flinch in pain seeing how Taehyung threw a hard punch at Jimin's stomach causing him to collapse onto the ground.

Taehyung then shift his gaze towards Jungkook, his chest heave heavily for air, gesturing him to come nearer.

"Hyung do we have to do this?" Jungkook nervously ask as he walk towards Taehyung before receiving a punch from Taehyung. Jungkook groan in pain as he balanced his body. His gaze soon darkened as he approach Taehyung before giving him some heavy punches and kicks to get his mind back.

"Looks like Taehyung is not giving up." Mark whisper, earning an agreement from Youngjae.

"There are some things that are just beyong our control. What can does guys do? They just have to accept the fact and deal with it." JB said while his gaze remained glued on Taehyung and Jungkook fighting.

Hmm~

Areum happily hummed the rhythm of the song playing inside her head as she took out her dry clothes from the clothesline. As she was taking out her clothes, her gazes soon landed on Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook.

"Oh you guys are ba- What happen to your face?!" Areum's smiled immediately was replaced with concerned once she stopped in front of Jimin. His right eyes were swollen and badly bruise. His cheeks were scratched while the corner of his lips were bleeding.

"That is none of your business." Jimin coldly replied, not giving a glance towards Areum before making his way to the mattress, leaving Areum confused with his sudden change of tone.

"Jungkook!" Areum turned her head to see Jungkook walking. His face was similar state as Jimin but less badly injured as compared to Jimin's. Jungkook turned his head to looked at Areum momentarily before walking away.

Areum's gaze soon landed on Taehyung as he stopped in front of Areum with both of his hands placed in his pockets.

"Did something bad happen?" Areum asked. Her tone was full of worried as she looked at Taehyung's injuries before shifting to his gaze. Even though Areum could see how sad and tired Taehyung's gaze is, Taehyung managed to let out a warm smile.

"Its okay, everything is fine. You don't have to worry about us." Taehyung gave an assuring pat on Areum's shoulder before walking away.

"What do you mean everything is fine? It doesn't look like nothing..." Areum softly whisper the last part as she watched Taehyung walking away with his back facing towards her. Areum let out a sigh as she turned her body around and continue with the last few clothes before making her way to the caravan.

"Hey guys... What do you think is happening to them? Seeing them badly injured and knowing nothing about them, makes me frustrated. I want to help them but I cant keep asking them, knowing that they wouldn't tell me anything." Areum pouted as she hugged her schoolbag while looking at her 3 dolls.

"But then... Now then I realize I didn't talk to you guys for a long time. Whenever I am lonely, you guys were my true friends. Isn't that right?" A warm smile plastered on Areum's face as she caressed one of the doll's hair.

"Do you know that ever since the guys have came into my life, I haven't felt lonely for once... You know what? I think I am not alone anymore. Now that I am with them, I start to feel happy again... But I'm scared that something might happen to them since they are the only ones I have right now..." Areum let out a soft smile before giving the dolls a hug.

The Next Day

"I-Is it... r-really okay if we don't go?" Jungkook worriedly asked Jimin as they both sat on the grass. They were sitting on the hill, just behind the caravan as they decided to not to accompany Areum walk to school.

"Yah! A man must  be true to his own words until the end no matter what!" Jimin looked at Jungkook.

"But... Is it true that Areum will be in danger if we leave her? Or do you think that JB is just making things up to scare us? It can't be true right?" Jungkook stared at Jimin with a slight of hope shown in his eyes.

Jimin let out a sigh as he shrugged his shoulder. "Let's just think about ourselves."

Jungkook's heart drop as he turned his head to the front in sadness. "But she was good to us..." Jungkook pouted.

Suddenly Taehyung came out of the caravan as he halted his steps while looking up at Jimin and Jungkook who were also staring back at him.

"I really not giving up on Areum." Taehyung calmly spoke.

"Yes we understand your feeling. You are worried about her." Jimin looked at Taehyung.

"But hyung... Why do you only care about her? What about us?" Jungkook continued sadly.

"We were born to protect Areum." Taehyung simply replied, causing Jimin to roll his eyes in annoyance before letting out a sigh.

"How I wish I was not born. Now we know too much." Jimin stood up as he pat his pants to remove the dirt away. Jungkook slowly stood up too.

Seeing them turning their back against Taehyung, Taehyung was only left with one resort.

He pursed his lips as he kneel down with both of his knees placing on the ground. Jimin and Jungkook turned their head to see Taehyung kneeling to them. Their eyes slightly widen as they turned speechless. They never see Taehyung that desperate before.

"I'm scared too... That the fact that we would disappear. I know how scary that sounds like and why you guys are behaving like this is because I feel the same too..." Taehyung softly say, with his gaze lowered.

"But then why? All of us feel the same way!" Jimin asked in confusion.

"However the fact that Areum might die, scares me more. I would rather turn into thin air than gaining a life at the cost of her's..." Taehyung continued as his eyes slightly turn watery at the thought of Areum disappearing forever.

Little do they know, JB was standing behind the caravan listening to their conversations. His eyes were glisten with tears as he clench his teeth, feeling all sort of emotions playing in his mind; guilt, anger and sadness. Memories of him as a dream knight replayed in his mind.

Flashback

"JB help! My dad sent people to get me again! Help me JB!" Jieun texted JB.

"Miss. Please listen and follow our instructions. If you don't, he will get hurt." One of the bodyguards spoke.

Jieun immediately shake her head, tears were rolling down her cheeks as she stood in front of the guy with her arms out, protecting the guy from being taken away from her.

"Go away! Leave me alone!" Jieun cried as she swing her bag aggressively towards the bodyguard, preventing them from coming near her.

Fortunately, Mark, Youngjae and JB managed to arrive at the venue on time. They quickly pushed the body guards away and stood in front of them with their arms out protecting Jieun.

"Yah you guys get lost." One of the bodyguards approach us as he tried to shoo them away.

"I say get lost!" The bodyguards yelled.

Mark's silver necklace with a symbol of lightning glow. Electricity shooting out from his body, causing the bodyguard that was grabbing on to him, to get an electric shock as he immediately let go and grabbed his wrist in pain. Using this chance, Mark quickly pushed him with great force.

Meanwhile, JB's eyes turned purple and his silver necklace glow. Using his fast reflex power, before the bodyguard could even attack or grab JB, JB immediately threw some punches and kicks to the bodyguard causing him to fall onto the ground in pain.

Youngjae's eyes turned light green and his silver necklace with a symbol of a treble clef glow. Youngjae whistle towards the bodyguard, causing the bodyguard to immediately cover his ears due to the sharp deafening sound. Youngjae let out a smile before kicking the bodyguard's stomach which result him to fall back.

Soon their eyes turned back to normal as the three bodyguards quickly stand up onto their feet in fear. "W-We wont let you live! W-Wait and s-see... We will come back and g-get you!" One of the bodyguards point at them in fear before running away, leaving them alone.

Mark, Youngjae and JB smile in satisfaction. JB quickly turned his body around and soon his smile slowly fade as he watch Jieun cupping the guy's cheek.

"Are you okay?" Jieune concernly asked.

"I love you. Lets be together forever." Jieun hugged the guy as he gladly returned the hug. " I love you too."

JB silently watched them as he could feel his heart slowly shattering into pieces.

JB, you will be my dream knight forever right? I like you the most!

Suddenly more bodyguards started to show up as they quickly separate Jieun and the guy.

"Jieun!"

"Dohyun!" Jieun cried as she struggle to get away from the bodyguard's grasp as she watched Dohyun being dragged away from her by the body guards.

Mark and Youngjae quickly approach them however was stopped when JB grabbed both of their arms, earning a confused look from them.

"What's wrong?" Mark asked.

"Don't go." JB weakly say as he painfully watch the bodyguards separating them and how the couple was yelling and crying for each other.

I must become a human...

I want to be loved too...

Sorry Jieun...

JB's eyes water as he reluctantly and painfully leave the venue, abandoning and betraying Jieun when she needed him the most.

The famous composer Kim Do Hyun died last night for an unknown reason. The police say that last night around 2am, his body was found dead.

Jieun lifelessly stood in front of the han river as the news kept replaying in her mind. Tears were rolling down her cheeks endlessly. Her heart was empty and depressed.

"Jieun!" JB yelled causing Jieun to turned her head to the right to see JB running towards her.

However before JB could even reach her, Jieun weakly closed her eyes before jumping into the han river to end her life.

"JIEUN!!" JB yelled in agony as he grabbed the railing. Tears were rolling down his cheeks as he yelled in pain. "JIEUN!!"

End of Flashback

JB shut his eyes tightly as he could still feel the pain and sadness overwhelming in his heart.

"Taehyung." JB grabbed the railing in anger as he opened his eyes, staring at the river in front of him.

"You won't last that long. You will choose the exactly same choice as me." JB gritted his teeth, as a tear rolled down his cheeks.

Hey guys! I'm finally back with an update after 2 months plus 😅 But as what I promised, I will continued to finish this ff. Since my 6 weeks holidays finally started, I will have more time to update this book so yeap I will start to update frequently now :)
